Kid stood motionless, with no particular expression on his face as his sensei made his way to the training ground, he was happy to be learning from the person who taught him his first element but he had to keep his emotions in check, choosing instead to focus his energy on the training and show his sensei how much he had grown since they last trained together.
He listened attentively as Dean spoke before speaking. "It will be interesting learning from you once again, if its anything like the first lesson we had then I look forward to it."
"Anyway, Genjutsu or Illusionary Arts, like Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, is 1 of the 3 basic skills utilized by ninja. Unlike the other 2 skills, which cause physical effects, Genjutsu, through the use of chakra and handseals, allows the user to create illusions which trick the opponent into believing that those events are actually taking place. This is accomplished by sending your chakra into your opponents brain/chakra pathway in order to disrupt the flow of his chakra and once that is done, you will be able to manipulate his 5 senses and feed him false information which may tempt him to make a decision that favors you but it doesn't allow you to control his actions.
I've mentioned already how Genjutsu is cast but this can be achieved through various ways such as eye contact (Sharingan), sound, smell, touch and taste. What a lot these methods have in common is that it requires you to be close to your opponent or have him in your sights to initiate which means the further you are from your opponent, the harder it is to put him in a Genjutsu.
Now onto releasing Genjutsu, there are several ways to do this but first you must figure out that you are in a Genjutsu which is done by observing your surroundings very carefully, listening for noises, movement or any inconsistencies that may seem odd. Once you are aware you're in a Genjutsu, you can release it by:
> Kai - stopping the flow of your chakra completely before causing it to spike suddenly which will flush out the foreign chakra in your chakra system (can't be used for jutsus that paralyze you)
> Pain - inflicting pain on yourself by stabbing yourself, biting of your tongue, etc, but this is a risky method to the risk of bleeding out and eventually dying
> Foreign Chakra - having an ally (bijuu, comrade, not sure about clones) insert their chakra into your system which will flush out your opponents chakra
> Full Body Surge - releasing chakra from every chakra point in your body which will flush away the foreign chakra
That's it for now. *Sigh*"
