After re-reading the chapter, something bothered me. Minato's sentence [ ]: "I'll have Kakashi keep my kunai" Why did Kakashi actually have to keep the kunai in the strategy?

Well Gaara did mention the fact his sand was too slow for Madara's attacks, but Minato adds it's ok i'm here too, in other words i'll take care of this

And when you take a closer look at the moment Minato appeared infront of the collision between Madara's attack and 8gated Gai, you'll notice the position where Minato actually hold his kunai is similar to Kakashi's sudden apparition on Gaara's sand

So do you think Minato is the one who actually teleported him there? Which could also explain the reason why Kakashi had to keep the kunai :hint:

That or its his way to bail out before the black orbs turn him into paste i guess,he did make contact with all of them after all.

it seems that way for the cloud of sand to have caught up to gai so quickly it had to have been minato's doing

Nah. I think he made kakashi keep it for safety.
Gaara was meant to fly kakashi in, but gaara said his sand is too slow to protect kakashi if madara decided to solo him. That's why minato have him a kunai just in case.

I don't think so because he doesn't need Kakashi in that case when he can simply leave a kunai behind before the operation

Nice catch, I didn't notice that! Kishi finally made Minato use his strategy aspect that Minato haven't been using, we see Tobirama do it mostly.

No. As of now, Minato cannot teleport things carrying the Hiraishin seal alone. He can, however, teleport to them, which is exactly what he gave Kakashi the Kunai for; in order to protect him from Onmyouton by throwing himself in its path, similar to how he protected Gai.

It would make sense. It would explain how Garra's sand, which can't keep up with the orbs, caught up with Guy.

Well while it's true Minato only showed to teleport to the marking so far, nothing proves he cannot teleport people connected to the marking as well because we've never seen him actually try it before, so Kishimoto implementing the possibility at this stage wouldn't be incoherant at all. Your safety reasoning is also possible though, eventhough judging by the success of the operation it's hard to believe the kunai finally played no role in there

he gave the kunai to kakashi to protect him in case of madara attacking kakashi but madara attacked gai instead of kakashi so minato teleported to gai side by lee kunai and saved him

ok a lot of people seem to be missing something..

i see a lot of people saying that minato cannot teleport anything but himself with his seals.. yet he teleported the TBB by throwing his kunai at it so it came in contact with the seal so he could teleport it..

this proves that he can teleport anything his seal comes into contact with

another thing.. are some people seriously going to believe that gaara's sand who even admitted was to slow managed to catch up with gai and minato who teleported instantly to his location ?

the reason why kakashi kept the kunai was so he could teleport them closer to madara to help aswell as for safety

No, when Kakashi promoted to Jonin Minato gave him a kunai as a present; which Kakashi obviously lost in battle. Minato is just replacing the one that Kakashi misplaced :)
