I would travel to space even if it's just orbiting our planet. A change to see our earth, other planet and the universe from outerspace. The view would be amazing.
But if we had the tech. for intergalactic travel that would even be better but sadly I won't be alive to have the chance. Even though I have a chance in this lifetime to orbit earth but in reality I'm to poor (should say I'm not rich enough) to make that come true

And China was dedicating an increasing amount of resources in to space craft R&D. But NASA countered by arguing that the shuttle was an impractical vehicle.
