A tall, blonde man stands outside a of a home, clutching a small, quiet bundle in his arms. The home is not his own, in fact he didn't even live in that area of the village, which was painfully obvious, as all eyes were on him. He was used to this, being the Hokage, although it was different there, the eyes didn't trust him, they didn't look to him as a great leader, they were suspicious of him. The Hokage never comes to the Uchiha district.
Minato: Well, come Naruto, your mother said she hoped you and Sasuke would grow to be friends.
The man walks up the path to the house, and boldly knocks on the door. Within moments the door is opened.
Young Boy: Lord Hokage!
Minato: Aah, hello young Itachi, I have been hearing great things about you, I expect to see you turn into a great shinobi some day.
???: Pride of the Uchiha clan
Minato: Certainly atleast the pride of his father, right Fugaku?
Fugaku: I have business to attend to, if you don't mind Lord Fourth
Minato: Actually, I was wondering if you would accompany me to a meeting
Fugaku: Meeting?
Minato: Yes, nothing to worry about, I was just hoping to have your input on what the village should be doing now, as the leader of the Uchiha and Konoha's Police force, it's important for us all to be on the same page
Fugaku: It's fine by me, let me just notify somoene, see if I can find someone to handle my duties for today
Minato: Ofcourse, is your wife in?
Fugaku: Yes, she mentioned you would be dropping by
Minato: You don't mind me leaving my son here, while I work out a schedule
Fugaku: Ofcourse not, the son of the Hokage is welcome here anytime
Minato: Well I'm eternally grateful, I know it was important to Kushina that Naruto and your Sasuke grow to be friends
???: I hope your not getting in the way of my cuddles with that little bundle of joy, dear
Fugaku: Ofcourse not Mikoto, me and the Hokage here were just discussing the future of the village
Mikoto: Oh, is that right?
Minato: Yes, I've asked Fugaku if he would join me and Shikaku in a meeting, and please call me Minato
Fugaku: Just because you want our kids to be friends, doesn't mean we should forget our place, Lord Hokage
Minato: And where do you believe your place is?
Fugaku: Isn't it obvious?
Minato: Perhaps those eyes of yours see differently to mine, that's why I value your insight
Fugaku: The purpose of the Uchiha is to protect the village, and hunt it's criminals
Minato: The Uchiha are also a part of the village, a valued and respected part. That means that you also have the support and protection of the village, and of me.
Itachi looked on at the two men, and though he was used to admiring his father, he never thought it would look up to someone as much as he did Minato, at that very moment.
Mikoto: Itachi, take your brother, I can't wait any longer to get my hands on this little monster
She hands the baby to his older brother, and puts her arms out to embrace the gurgling little creature in Minato's arms.
Minato: Thank you Mikoto, you are a good friend to Kushina, even in her passing
He hands his son to the woman, and the baby immediately begins to giggle, and make noises of glee.
Minato: Well, me and Shikaku will be at his home, I'm sure you know where the Nara clan reside?
Fugaku: Ofcourse, I won't be long. Itachi I won't be able to supervise your training today, but that doesn't mean you can slack off
Itachi: Yes father
Mikoto: Oh well I thought Itachi could spend the day with me and the boys, it would be nice to have an extra pair of hands around the house, and you know Sasuke only lets Itachi feed him. One day won't do any harm
Fugaku walked down the path, grumbling to himself the whole way.
Minato: He certainly is a strict sensei, but then again, you can't fault his methods with results like these *gesturing toward Itachi* Well thank you once again for this Mikoto
Mikoto: It's no bother, really. You know he reminds me of her in so many ways
Minato's expression suddenly turns to that of a sad one
Minato: Yes, me too. Every time I look at him.
In an instant the man was gone
Itachi: He wasn't as I thought he would be
Mikoto: what do you mean?
She looked down at her sons, the youngest of which, pulling at Itachi's hair
Itachi: I heard you and father talking about how he doesn't trust the Uchiha, and he's trying to keep us at arms length
Mikoto: That was a private conversation young man, you had no business listening in.
Itachi: Sorry mother, but I'm right aren't I? I mean, He left his son in our care, he invited father to his meeting with Shikaku, that doesn't seem to be the actions of a man who doesn't trust the Uchiha
