So I haven't updated this in a long time, my bad.

Back in the Root base, as the dust settles from the huge explosion, a curious Kunai lays on the ground, and four figures appear out of nowhere.
Fugaku: Danzo couldn't have possibly thought that would work on you
Minato: No, it was just to buy time, now the corridor has collapsed we have to remove this rubble... he killed these people for a simple time delay... I should have gotten rid of him as soon as I became Hokage.
Jiraiya: How're we going to clear this rubble without more dropping down on us?
Minato: There's no need for that
Minato places his hand on the ground and the Flying Thunder God seal appears, and then begins to move, toward the pile of rubble blocking their path, and weaves through the rubble to the other side.
Minato: You know the routine
The three other men grab hold of Minato and they disappear and reappear on the other side of the rubble, without missing a beat the took off running down the corridor once again, meanwhile somewhere else...
Mikoto: Itachi take care of your younger brother and Naruto, your father is fighting, I should join him.
Itachi: Okay mother, be safe
Mikoto: I'll take you three over to Police HQ, there'll be an armed guard for Kakashi Hatake, you'll be safest there
Back at Police HQ, Kakashi is still laying in bed, Shisui sits on the chair beside him, and the body of the Assassin is humped over in a corner on the far end of the room, a bloodied bed sheet covering him. Suddenly movement is heard outside the room, and Shisui jumps to attention, kunai in one hand, ready to face whoever comes through the door. The door opens and Shisui launches the kunai shoots towards the opening door, only to be deflected rapidly. To Shisui and Kakashi's surprise, it was deflected by an even younger boy than Shisui
Itachi: What's the big idea?
Mikoto: Sharp reflexes Itachi, you really are your fathers son, Shisui where are the other guards?
Shisui: I'm so sorry Lady Mikoto! I guess I'm a little on edge, you see-
Mikoto: Never mind that, where are the other shinobi sent to Guard the boy?
Shisui: They left to assist Lord Fugaku, it's just me here
Mikoto: You're expected to protect Kakashi, whose idea was that!?
Kakashi: He's done a fine job of it so far
Kakashi gestures towards the corpse
Mikoto: I was planning on leaving my sons here while I went to aid Lord Fugaku and The Hokage... but now I'm having second thoughts, I thought this place would be more well-guarded.
Itachi: We should be fine here mother.
Mikoto: You must be Joking Itachi.
Itachi: We have Shisui, and myself, Kakashi isn't exactly a High Priority target if you're being hunted by the most powerful shinobi in the village, added with the fact that they already sent one assassin, suggests they're not planning on sending more otherwise they'd have arrived by now, before more guards shown up.
Mikoto: Very Well, should anyone come, Shisui you guard the boys with your life, they're the highest priority, above all else, including Kakashi, and Itachi, run with Sasuke and Naruto.
Shisui: Of course Lady Mikoto
Itachi: Yes mother
With that, Mikoto handed Itachi the small bundle that was Sasuke, and handed Naruto to Kakashi, then made a hand seal and disappeared in a puff of smoke
Shisui: Your reactions are very fast, especially for your age
Itachi: I train every day with my father, he says I'm destined to take over as head of the clan when he dies... It's important I can protect everyone
Shisui smiled at the younger boy. As Mikoto runs through the abandoned Uchiha district, she is suddenly met with 4 masked ninja, she stops in her tracks.
Mikoto: You, you're Root ninja!
#1: That's correct, you're Lady Mikoto, wife to the head of the Uchiha Clan
Mikoto: You're under arrest.
The four masked figures begin laughing maniacally
#3: We didn't come here to hand ourselves in, we're here because we understand that you were left with the son of the Hokage, hand him over and we will make your death painless
Mikoto: You're pretty dense if you think I'll let you touch him
As she finished her sentence, one of the men sprinted off in the direction of Kakashi and the others, Mikoto moved to stop him, but instead clashed with One of the other men, with the other two fast approaching her also
Mikoto: STAY OUT OF MY WAY!
She drew her sword which she was carrying on her back, which engulfed in flames as she swung it in his direction, he pushed back out of the blades reach, but the fire left the blade and grazed his shoulder, burning him, however at this moment a boot smashed her in the face and she was knocked far off of her feet. She dug her sword into the ground, slowing her down and manoeuvred herself back onto her feet, quickly forming hand seals, she spat out a huge fireball in the direction of her enemies, who immediately starting making hand seals themselves.

The three shot water into the oncoming flames, cancelling out Mikoto's jutsu. This caused a huge mass of steam, which Mikoto took advantage of, firing off several shuriken, using the steam as a shroud, however the first masked shinobi foresaw this and deflected all of the shuriken with his tanto blade.
Back at Police HQ
Shisui: Did you hear something?
Itachi: with such a large battle going on in the village, it's unsurprising that we could hear things
#2: Now that's rather Optimistic
The attention of everyone in the room is drawn to the window in which the voice came from
#2: I see you managed to kill Shinji... I never did like him, always too big for his boots, thinking he was so tough
Kakashi: If you were "so tough" you wouldn't be here, you'd be assisting Danzo, which means you're not one of his inner circle, you're just one of his foot soldiers sent here to kill me
#2: That makes sense, if I were here for you, but I'm here for the Honourable son of the Fourth Hokage, something which Danzo would indeed send someone from his inner circle for
Kakashi handed Naruto off to Shisui, and lept from his bed, ignoring the agonising pain
Kakashi: You two, RUN NOW!
Kakashi lunged at at the Root soldier, who let fly with a wild kick, aimed at the blood stained spot in Kakashi's gown, which sent him flying across the room, reeling in pain. The Root ninja then advanced towards Shisui.
???: LEAF HURRICANE
This sent the masked man flying backwards, he hit the wall and then broke through to the other side
Kakashi: You couldn't have done that before I got kicked in my wound... Thanks Guy
Guy: Kakashi! Can't have my eternal rival being taken out before we've reached our Primes now can I?
Kakashi: You two, run!
Itachi and Shisui done as they were told, they took off running out of the room, Shisui in the lead
Kakashi: We can't let anything happen to them Guy
#2: WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!
Enraged the Root shinobi dashed through the hole he had made with his body, and slashed at Guy. Guy simply leant back, just out of the blade's range, and with a swift but subtle movement, kicked his opponents feet from under him.
Guy: C'mon, put some emotion into your attacks, you'll never hit me like that!
#2: You're a dumb kid, Y'know that? You could have just walked away, now, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill your friend, and I'm even going to kill that Uchiha baby, all because you pissed me off
The Masked man rose to his feet, and started weaving hand signs, but before he could finish, Guy moved in with another kick to his face, the man was able to raise his arms to protect himself, but the force of the kick pushed him out of the building again, but this time Guy followed. Somersaulting multiple times before landing, Guy takes a battle ready stance, and smirks at his opponent
#2: You have no idea what I'm capable of
Guy's smirk changes to a straight and stern face
Guy: If you keep up with this, I will kill to protect my friends, I have no doubts about that, you shouldn't either.
#2: Have you ever killed before? Because I have, multiple times, It's easy for me
Guy: You're right, I've not killed before, but you give me a choice between my best friend, and a low-life traitor, which do you think I'll choose?
With that Guy dashed in close to his enemy, changing his stance to that of a boxing one, and began to let loose with a flurry of blindingly fast jabs, #2 managed to dodge one or two of them, but was just unable to avoid them all, the punches were thunderously powerful, after two hits his mask shattered to pieces, after five hits his feet left the ground and after eight hits his arms began to react to the punches, and he raised his guard. At which Guy performed a full 360 degree spin and launched a heel kick into his chest.
Kakashi: You've already removed your weights huh?
Guy: Well I had to get here as fast as I could
#2: Well, it's clear I cannot best you in taijutsu, so...
He made a hand seal, and suddenly 20 versions of himself appeared, and scattered, all of them making other hand seals
Guy: *The clone jutsu, even with my speed I can't hit every one before he unleashes a jutsu, then again that's assuming I hit the real one last, but if I hit him first, or even fifth I will be safe, I guess it's all about luck*
Kakashi: It's none of them Guy!
Guy turned around to see Kakashi viewing the field with his sharingan eye
Kakashi: He's not amongst the crowd
Guy: So where is he?
Kakashi: I don't know, I didn't start looking until he'd already used the Jutsu, be on your guard
The strain from his injuries, and now using the sharingan was too much for Kakashi, and he passed out. Suddenly the earth beneath Guy turned into a boggy swamp, which he immediately sunk into, being unable to move his legs at all, he then sunk even deeper to the point that his hands were swallowed by the mud also, in the meantime, the real #2 rose from the ground in front of Guy, and the other clones disappeared.
#2: It's over, you're trapped
He launched a fierce kick to the temple of Guy's head, blood gushed from the spot the kick landed, he then kneed Guy in the stomach, had Guy's knees not have been submerged this attack would have dropped him to his knees
#2: You know, as much as I would like to draw this out, I can't let those brats get too far ahead of me, so I'm going to end this now.
He drew his sword and aimed to plunge it through Guy's heart, when suddenly, a shroud of chakra surrounded Guy, and he broke free from the swamp with ease and caught #2 with an uppercut, sending him rocketing off of his feet.
Guy: FOURTH GATE, GATE OF PAIN, RELEASE!
Guy's skin is red now, he unleashes a huge flurry of attacks on the now De-Masked man, pummelling him in mid air, as if they were floating, after endlessly hitting him with a flurry of punches and kicks, he spins repeatedly, landing a final downard axe kick into #2's head, sending him crashing down into the ground. Guy then lands onto his feet as light as a feather, and once he closes the gates, he too passes out.
Back to the Uchiha boys
Shisui: Naruto won't stop crying! We'll never be able to hide like this
Itachi: He's just a baby, and with a fierce temper at that, there's not really much we can do
Shisui: Sasuke isn't crying!
Itachi: It's rare that he cries with me, Hey where are we running to?
Shisui: My Grandpa's house, he's retired now, doesn't fight, but back in his day he was a member of an elite team, it's porbably the safest place in the Uchiha district right now.
Itachi: Who's your grandpa?
Shisui: Kagami Uchiha
Itachi: Really? That's Amazing, he was a member of the Second Hokage's elite team!
Shisui: I know, so cool right?
Shisui looked at Itachi with a proud grin, Itachi never got to hang around with kids his own age, all his training was done one to one with his father, and while Shisui wasn't his own age, he felt that he might be the first friend he's ever made. They made it to the house of Kagami Uchiha, and with no time to spare, as three other masked ninja landed just behind them.
Yoshikazu: Listen up kids, the way I see things, we're uprooting no need to kill witnesses, just hand over the Hokage's brat and we'll be leaving.
Shisui: You must be crazy, we might be young, but we're still shinobi, we're not going to just abandon our mission!
???: That's my boy, now you three wouldn't be picking on my Grandson would you?
Nampo: Well **** me, it's Kagami Uchiha, you're a legend, you're also a has been, step aside or we'll kill you too.
Kagami: Watch your language around the young ones. Are you forgetting I'm of the same generation as your boss? I've spent all of my life in war, I will not hesitate to kill any of you, so leave, before you make me come out of retirement.
Ikki: The fact that you're putting yourself on the same level as Lord Danzo is an insult, while he has kept involved in the goings on of this village, and trained every day, you have sat in your rocking chair, falling out of practice.
Kagami: So that's a hard no from all three of you then?
Nampo: You're damn right it is!
Kagami: I told you to watch your mouths! Besides, the fight is already over.
Suddenly before their very eyes, the two boys and the infants were gone, already inside the house, eagerly watching from the window upstairs. Kagami had his back to the men, walking back into his house, the men looked down to see kunai sticking into their stomach, the wound pouring blood.
Ikki: That's impossible! A genjutsu that stayed active despite him stabbing us in the stomachs...
Nampo and Yoshikazu collapse, seconds before he finishes sentence and collapses himself saying...
Ikki: ...there's just no way...
Back in the Root hideout, the four men had reached the ensuing battle
Fugaku: No sign of Danzo, let's press on!
Minato: No, you three hold back, give support to the Anbu forces, I'll go ahead alone catch up to me when you're done here!
Shikaku: You can't go alone, these guys can handle themselves!
Minato: Our top priority right now is to maintain as much of our military force as possible, keep casualties to a minimum, then gather everyone who is still fit to fight to back me up
Fugaku: But-
Jiraiya: Since when do we argue with our Hokage, just follow his orders!
They begrudgingly entered into combat with the Root forces, as Minato went on ahead.
Kiyonobu: You predicted correctly Lord Danzo, The Fourth Hokage left behind his back up, he's approaching alone
Danzo: Very well, five of you make contact with him, everyone else come with me to the rendezvous point with our other men, it's time to leave this village... for now.
Kiyonobu went running back down the passage with 4 other root ninja following closely behind, quicker than they expected they reached Minato
Minato: Step aside and it will reflected well in your trial for your actions... or should I say, you'll receive a trial for your actions, if you stay in my way, I will simply kill you where you stand.
Kiyonobu: We will gladly die to do our duty
Minato: I know, loyalty like that is very honourable, it's such a shame you're on the wrong side
Minato raised his Kunai, and launched it toward the opposing ninja, however the quickly blew it away with a gust of wind.
Kiyonobu: Your jutsu is useless if you can't get a seal near us
Minato drew 3 more Kunai and launched them at them once again, and the Root ninja once again launched wind jutsu at the Kunai to blow them away, but Minato immediately follower up with a huge flame attack, taking shape of a phoenix, which when met with the wind jutsu, grew so large it filled the wide passageway and burnt the Root shinobi alive.
Minato: I'm not called the fastest man alive for nothing
He dashed past the smouldering bodies of the ninja, who were writhing in agony, and kept on pushing forward towards Danzo
Akio: Lord Danzo, Minato has killed them, he's pursuing us once again
Danzo: Already, damn he's moving quicker than anticipated
Akio: We could use our Earth Ninjutsu, create more tunnels, turn this place into a maze
Danzo: No... He can sense our chakra if need be, it would only slow us down, not him... Taheiji, fill the passage behind us with acid gas, melt that bastard
Taheiji: Yes Lord Danzo, it's been an honour serving you
She weaved few handseals and let out a huge breath of an acidic fog which filled the passage, ut spread down the corridor extremely fast, it reaches a few metres ahead of Minato
Minato: *Shit, I didn't even know we had a Boil Release user, still Danzo must be desperate if he's willing to give her up*
Minato stoppped in his place, and weaved multiple hand signs, and an unbelievably powerful gust of wind tore down the passage in the direction of Taheiji, pushing the acid mist along with it
Minato: Wind Style, Great Breakthrough
Taheiji reacted quickly, weaving hand signs of her own
Taheiji: Fire Style, Fire Breath Jutsu
She spits a huge stream of fire, which hits Minato's wind jutsu technique, and explodes into a ferocious blaze rocketing towards minato
Minato: Well you're certainly better than those idiots I left smouldering down the hall
Minato pulls out two Kunai in each hand, and shrouds them in lightning nature chakra, so that they would pierce the oncoming flames, he throws the and they pass through the flames like a bullet through paper, and appear on the other side, narrowly missing Taheiji. Just as the flamest are about to hit Minato, he disappears, and suddenly there he is, behind Taheiji, he slams his hend into her temple, and she slams into the wall unconscious
Danzo: She didn't even slow him down, there's a training Hall up ahead, I'm going to make my stand there. Bunzo go ahead, make preparations for my escape, everyone else will back me up
Bunzo: Yes sir
Bunzo kept pushing forward, as the others stayed in the Hall, awaiting Minato, who quickly made it to the hall.
Minato: You thought I would allow this Danzo? I'm going to kill you right here
Danzo: Why did you let her live?
Minato: I'm sorry?
Danzo: Why did you let Taheiji live? I mean the others are barely alive, but not because you spared them, they will most likely die from those burns, slowly, you relentlessly attacked them, But Taheiji you spared her, merely incapacitated her
Minato: She's young, 14 years old at most, she can still be turned back to the right side, plus she's talented
Danzo: You think you can undo their training? make them forget what I drilled into them from the moment they arrive here, in her case, the moment she was born
Minato: You've had her since her birth?
Danzo: Why of course, Ashida here is her Father
He gestured toward a tall burly looking man standing two people away from him
Minato: He sent your daughter to her death, you're okay with this?
Ashida: She's a shinobi, that makes her a tool, a weapon, nothing more. Weapons break all the time.
Minato began scattering Kunai all around the room at rapid speeds, the other shinobi just stood watching, on their guard.
Danzo: You're really going to try to fight us all?
Minato: You are all enemies of the Leaf, as The Hokage it is my duty to eliminate you
Danzo: We're the enemies of the Leaf? If it weren't for us and our work, there would be no Leaf!
Danzo made several hand seals at a blinding speed, and with a swift intake of breath he followed up with a powerful exhale of gusts of air
Danzo: Wind Style, Vacuum Spheres!
As fast as the bullet like gusts were, they weren't fast enough to hit Minato, who disappeared in an instant, he began appearing at different Kunai's in quick succession, it was impossible to connect with any of their attacks, despite all 12 of Danzo's soldiers letting loose with various different Jutsu's, one by one Minato began picking them off, slashing their throats, before they even realised they were his targets. Until it was just Minato and Danzo
Danzo: Well... that's rather disappointing, they lasted 7 minutes, I thought they would at least last 10. Well I suppose if they weren't protecting me, they might have lasted a bit longer
Minato, splashed all over with the blood of his enemies looked Danzo straight into his eyes
Minato: I'm going to kill you Danzo
Danzo: You're not a threat to me Minato
Danzo wove a series of hand signs, and spun 360 degrees, breathing out a powerful gust of wind all around him, pushing away an of the kunai within 10 feet of him. Minato decided against trying to approach him with his FTG jutsu, instead settling for besting him with his regular speed, which he was sure Danzo could not compete with, he closed in on him fast and thrust a rasengan into his stomach sending him hurtling backwards into at a blinding speed, Minato quickly followed up with a huge fire attack, making sure to burn Danzo to a crisp. Until suddenly he sensed a presence behind him, but too little too late, he turned around and shifted his head backwards out of reach of the blade of the kunai Danzo was wielding, but unfortunately not out of the reach of the wind he infused with the blade to extend it's reach and increase it's cutting capacity, it sliced from about 7 centimetres above the base of his chin, right up through his lower lip on the right side of his face, blood gushed everywhere as Minato disappeared out to one of his marked Kunai, clutching his face.
Danzo: Why didn't you do that as soon as you sensed my presence?
Minato: I wanted a closer look at your jutsu
Danzo: Learn anything?
Minato: No... how is it possible? We had a theory that it was Izanagi, but you've used it once, recently, and as I can already see your left eye isn't a sharingan. Which means it's something else
Danzo: If that's the conclusion you've came to...
Minato: But every Jutsu has it's limits, you can't do that infinitely, that would make you... immortal
Danzo: Whose to say I'm not?
Minato: Immortal people don't run
???: Very good Minato Boy... Now if you wouldn't mind letting us leave, I'd be very grateful
A shadowy figure emerges from the exit passage
Minato: Orochimaru!
Orochimaru: Have you missed me? I'm sure your sensei has
Minato: You know people called you a genius, they used to compare me to you, but you must be an idiot to appear before me, today is a glorious day, I get to kill two of the greatest living threats to the Leaf Village, in one go!
Orochimaru: Well I understand how you might think that the case right now, what's actually going to happen is, you're going to let me and Danzo walk right out of here
Minato: And why would I do something like that?
Orochimaru: Because you've lost too many people already, too many friends
Minato: And if I let you two walk out of here, I will lose even more!
Orochimaru: Except that's not a certainty, however what is a certainty, is that if you attack us, then the clone that is waiting with the group guarding Anko disappears, they will slit her throat and leave her to die. However you let us walk, then I will rendezvous with them, and leave her for you to find
Minato: And how can I trust you?
Orochimaru: You can't, you just have to hope I'm in a good mood, to be honest Anko has revolted against me, I used her as a test subject for an experiment with very low chances of survival, Alas she survived, but let's just say she wasn't too happy about the way I used her, but she's too valuable to kill. I will continue to monitor, however if you **** things up for me here, I have no need for her life at all, she will die. Make your choice, Kill me and Danzo here, or save her, you going to trade 2 lives for 1? that would be really irrational, however a man whose just lost his wife, is hardly going to rational is he?
Minato paused for a second
Minato: Go... but next time, I swear I'll kill you both.
So the Veteran and the Snake fled down the passageway to the exit, and disappeared, shortly after Fugaku, Orochimaru, and Shikaku, along with the remaining Anbu ninja arrived
Fugaku: Danzo... he bested you?
Minato: He had leverage
Jiraiya: What d'ya mean kid?
Minato: Orochimaru appeared, he was holding Anko hostage
Jiraiya: SO YOU LET HIM JUST WALK OUT OF HERE?
Minato: Anbu, I want you to spread out, search for her, Orochimaru said his clone was watching over her, which means she's nearby, he said he'd leave her for us to find
Jiraiya: YOU MEAN YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE HER? YOU'RE JUST TAKING HIS WORD, AND THEY CALL YOU A GENIUS!
Minato: Sensei, I'm sorry, I couldn't just
Jiraiya: You think her life is worth Danzo and Orochimaru's combined... she left this village with him of her own accord, for all you know she's going under as a double agent here, that's if you'll even find her
Minato: Since when did I have to ask my anbu forces twice to do something? GO!
Subaru: Lord Fourth, if we don't tend to your facial wound it'll scar, the others can go find her, and I'll tend to your wounds
Minato: I'm fine, just go
Fugaku: Fine he says... yet he just let two of the greatest criminals known to the village walk out of here, in exchange for some traitorous *****
Minato: Watch your tongue Fugaku, I'm still your Hokage!
Fugaku: You think you deserve that Mantle after that stunt you just pulled?
Minato: Question my position as Hokage again, and watch what happens Fugaku!
Shikaku: This is no time for bickering, Fugaku remember your place, now we must retreat and lick our wounds
Minato: I'm going looking for Anko
Shikaku: Lord Hokage, a civil war just broke out, aren't you at all concerned for your son?
Minato: ...You're right Shikaku, thank you
With that Minato disappeared, and reappeared at the Uchiha District, where he saw the ensuing battle between Mikoto and the Root Ninja, whom had the upper hand on her. He swiftly crashed down on two of the three Root shinobi with a rasengan in each hand, killing them. He then turned to the third, and before he could react, picked up the tanto of one of the dead root ninja's and pierce his heart with it.
Mikoto: Lord Hokage, thank you, I didn't think I could last much longer... your face you're-
Minato: Where is my son?
Mikoto: I left him with Itachi, Shisui and Kakashi but a fourth Root bastard went after them, I couldn't stop him. Please, is Fugaku okay?
Minato: He's fine.
And with that, Minato took off in a flash, heading toward the Police HQ. It wasn't long before he reached the building, where he found both Kakashi and Guy unconscious, and a dead Root shinobi. Kakashi was bleeding out. Minato summoned a toad, and instructed it to take Kakashi and Guy to the nearest hospital, while Minato continued to search for his son. Until eventually he was in range to sense his son's chakra. He walked over the corpses of the root ninja to and continued on up the path, to the modest house, where before he could even knock on the door, it opened, and he was welcomed inside by an elderly Uchiha
Minato: Thank you, for protecting my boy
Kagami: No need to thank me, I'm still a member of this village, we look after our own
Minato: Where is Naruto?
Kagami: He's upstairs, sleeping. The boys brought him here
Minato: I'm taking him home with me
Kagami: Let my wife clean you up first, you look like a horror show, you'll scar the boy for life
Minato: ...Good point
Shisui: How did it go Lord Hokage?
Minato: You protected my boy?
Shisui: Ohh, it was nothing really
Minato: Not to me it wasn't, how old are you? 8 at most, and already a fine shinobi. You give me hope for the future of our village, you too Itachi
Itachi appears from behind Shisui
Itachi: I didn't really do anything, I was just there
Minato: Sometimes, being there by your friends side is enough, you'll receive commendations, of course it'll be on the down low, to the general public this will all just have been a training exercise, but amongst the shinobi, your names will be known. People will have their eyes on you two.
Itachi: Will everyone who was involved in the defence of the village receive commendations?
Minato: No...
Itachi: Then I don't want one either, we were all just doing our parts as shinobi
Shisui: He's right, our age shouldn't be a factor, we weren't trying to be heroes, we were just doing our duty
Minato: Well then... I guess you'll just have to settle for me keeping my eye on you, I expect great things from you two.

Back in the Root base, as the dust settles from the huge explosion, a curious Kunai lays on the ground, and four figures appear out of nowhere.
Fugaku: Danzo couldn't have possibly thought that would work on you
Minato: No, it was just to buy time, now the corridor has collapsed we have to remove this rubble... he killed these people for a simple time delay... I should have gotten rid of him as soon as I became Hokage.
Jiraiya: How're we going to clear this rubble without more dropping down on us?
Minato: There's no need for that
Minato places his hand on the ground and the Flying Thunder God seal appears, and then begins to move, toward the pile of rubble blocking their path, and weaves through the rubble to the other side.
Minato: You know the routine
The three other men grab hold of Minato and they disappear and reappear on the other side of the rubble, without missing a beat the took off running down the corridor once again, meanwhile somewhere else...
Mikoto: Itachi take care of your younger brother and Naruto, your father is fighting, I should join him.
Itachi: Okay mother, be safe
Mikoto: I'll take you three over to Police HQ, there'll be an armed guard for Kakashi Hatake, you'll be safest there
Back at Police HQ, Kakashi is still laying in bed, Shisui sits on the chair beside him, and the body of the Assassin is humped over in a corner on the far end of the room, a bloodied bed sheet covering him. Suddenly movement is heard outside the room, and Shisui jumps to attention, kunai in one hand, ready to face whoever comes through the door. The door opens and Shisui launches the kunai shoots towards the opening door, only to be deflected rapidly. To Shisui and Kakashi's surprise, it was deflected by an even younger boy than Shisui
Itachi: What's the big idea?
Mikoto: Sharp reflexes Itachi, you really are your fathers son, Shisui where are the other guards?
Shisui: I'm so sorry Lady Mikoto! I guess I'm a little on edge, you see-
Mikoto: Never mind that, where are the other shinobi sent to Guard the boy?
Shisui: They left to assist Lord Fugaku, it's just me here
Mikoto: You're expected to protect Kakashi, whose idea was that!?
Kakashi: He's done a fine job of it so far
Kakashi gestures towards the corpse
Mikoto: I was planning on leaving my sons here while I went to aid Lord Fugaku and The Hokage... but now I'm having second thoughts, I thought this place would be more well-guarded.
Itachi: We should be fine here mother.
Mikoto: You must be Joking Itachi.
Itachi: We have Shisui, and myself, Kakashi isn't exactly a High Priority target if you're being hunted by the most powerful shinobi in the village, added with the fact that they already sent one assassin, suggests they're not planning on sending more otherwise they'd have arrived by now, before more guards shown up.
Mikoto: Very Well, should anyone come, Shisui you guard the boys with your life, they're the highest priority, above all else, including Kakashi, and Itachi, run with Sasuke and Naruto.
Shisui: Of course Lady Mikoto
Itachi: Yes mother
With that, Mikoto handed Itachi the small bundle that was Sasuke, and handed Naruto to Kakashi, then made a hand seal and disappeared in a puff of smoke
Shisui: Your reactions are very fast, especially for your age
Itachi: I train every day with my father, he says I'm destined to take over as head of the clan when he dies... It's important I can protect everyone
Shisui smiled at the younger boy. As Mikoto runs through the abandoned Uchiha district, she is suddenly met with 4 masked ninja, she stops in her tracks.
Mikoto: You, you're Root ninja!
#1: That's correct, you're Lady Mikoto, wife to the head of the Uchiha Clan
Mikoto: You're under arrest.
The four masked figures begin laughing maniacally
#3: We didn't come here to hand ourselves in, we're here because we understand that you were left with the son of the Hokage, hand him over and we will make your death painless
Mikoto: You're pretty dense if you think I'll let you touch him
As she finished her sentence, one of the men sprinted off in the direction of Kakashi and the others, Mikoto moved to stop him, but instead clashed with One of the other men, with the other two fast approaching her also
Mikoto: STAY OUT OF MY WAY!
She drew her sword which she was carrying on her back, which engulfed in flames as she swung it in his direction, he pushed back out of the blades reach, but the fire left the blade and grazed his shoulder, burning him, however at this moment a boot smashed her in the face and she was knocked far off of her feet. She dug her sword into the ground, slowing her down and manoeuvred herself back onto her feet, quickly forming hand seals, she spat out a huge fireball in the direction of her enemies, who immediately starting making hand seals themselves.

The three shot water into the oncoming flames, cancelling out Mikoto's jutsu. This caused a huge mass of steam, which Mikoto took advantage of, firing off several shuriken, using the steam as a shroud, however the first masked shinobi foresaw this and deflected all of the shuriken with his tanto blade.
Back at Police HQ
Shisui: Did you hear something?
Itachi: with such a large battle going on in the village, it's unsurprising that we could hear things
#2: Now that's rather Optimistic
The attention of everyone in the room is drawn to the window in which the voice came from
#2: I see you managed to kill Shinji... I never did like him, always too big for his boots, thinking he was so tough
Kakashi: If you were "so tough" you wouldn't be here, you'd be assisting Danzo, which means you're not one of his inner circle, you're just one of his foot soldiers sent here to kill me
#2: That makes sense, if I were here for you, but I'm here for the Honourable son of the Fourth Hokage, something which Danzo would indeed send someone from his inner circle for
Kakashi handed Naruto off to Shisui, and lept from his bed, ignoring the agonising pain
Kakashi: You two, RUN NOW!
Kakashi lunged at at the Root soldier, who let fly with a wild kick, aimed at the blood stained spot in Kakashi's gown, which sent him flying across the room, reeling in pain. The Root ninja then advanced towards Shisui.
???: LEAF HURRICANE
This sent the masked man flying backwards, he hit the wall and then broke through to the other side
Kakashi: You couldn't have done that before I got kicked in my wound... Thanks Guy
Guy: Kakashi! Can't have my eternal rival being taken out before we've reached our Primes now can I?
Kakashi: You two, run!
Itachi and Shisui done as they were told, they took off running out of the room, Shisui in the lead
Kakashi: We can't let anything happen to them Guy
#2: WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE!
Enraged the Root shinobi dashed through the hole he had made with his body, and slashed at Guy. Guy simply leant back, just out of the blade's range, and with a swift but subtle movement, kicked his opponents feet from under him.
Guy: C'mon, put some emotion into your attacks, you'll never hit me like that!
#2: You're a dumb kid, Y'know that? You could have just walked away, now, I'm going to kill you, I'm going to kill your friend, and I'm even going to kill that Uchiha baby, all because you pissed me off
The Masked man rose to his feet, and started weaving hand signs, but before he could finish, Guy moved in with another kick to his face, the man was able to raise his arms to protect himself, but the force of the kick pushed him out of the building again, but this time Guy followed. Somersaulting multiple times before landing, Guy takes a battle ready stance, and smirks at his opponent
#2: You have no idea what I'm capable of
Guy's smirk changes to a straight and stern face
Guy: If you keep up with this, I will kill to protect my friends, I have no doubts about that, you shouldn't either.
#2: Have you ever killed before? Because I have, multiple times, It's easy for me
Guy: You're right, I've not killed before, but you give me a choice between my best friend, and a low-life traitor, which do you think I'll choose?
With that Guy dashed in close to his enemy, changing his stance to that of a boxing one, and began to let loose with a flurry of blindingly fast jabs, #2 managed to dodge one or two of them, but was just unable to avoid them all, the punches were thunderously powerful, after two hits his mask shattered to pieces, after five hits his feet left the ground and after eight hits his arms began to react to the punches, and he raised his guard. At which Guy performed a full 360 degree spin and launched a heel kick into his chest.
Kakashi: You've already removed your weights huh?
Guy: Well I had to get here as fast as I could
#2: Well, it's clear I cannot best you in taijutsu, so...
He made a hand seal, and suddenly 20 versions of himself appeared, and scattered, all of them making other hand seals
Guy: *The clone jutsu, even with my speed I can't hit every one before he unleashes a jutsu, then again that's assuming I hit the real one last, but if I hit him first, or even fifth I will be safe, I guess it's all about luck*
Kakashi: It's none of them Guy!
Guy turned around to see Kakashi viewing the field with his sharingan eye
Kakashi: He's not amongst the crowd
Guy: So where is he?
Kakashi: I don't know, I didn't start looking until he'd already used the Jutsu, be on your guard
The strain from his injuries, and now using the sharingan was too much for Kakashi, and he passed out. Suddenly the earth beneath Guy turned into a boggy swamp, which he immediately sunk into, being unable to move his legs at all, he then sunk even deeper to the point that his hands were swallowed by the mud also, in the meantime, the real #2 rose from the ground in front of Guy, and the other clones disappeared.
#2: It's over, you're trapped
He launched a fierce kick to the temple of Guy's head, blood gushed from the spot the kick landed, he then kneed Guy in the stomach, had Guy's knees not have been submerged this attack would have dropped him to his knees
#2: You know, as much as I would like to draw this out, I can't let those brats get too far ahead of me, so I'm going to end this now.
He drew his sword and aimed to plunge it through Guy's heart, when suddenly, a shroud of chakra surrounded Guy, and he broke free from the swamp with ease and caught #2 with an uppercut, sending him rocketing off of his feet.
Guy: FOURTH GATE, GATE OF PAIN, RELEASE!
Guy's skin is red now, he unleashes a huge flurry of attacks on the now De-Masked man, pummelling him in mid air, as if they were floating, after endlessly hitting him with a flurry of punches and kicks, he spins repeatedly, landing a final downard axe kick into #2's head, sending him crashing down into the ground. Guy then lands onto his feet as light as a feather, and once he closes the gates, he too passes out.
Back to the Uchiha boys
Shisui: Naruto won't stop crying! We'll never be able to hide like this
Itachi: He's just a baby, and with a fierce temper at that, there's not really much we can do
Shisui: Sasuke isn't crying!
Itachi: It's rare that he cries with me, Hey where are we running to?
Shisui: My Grandpa's house, he's retired now, doesn't fight, but back in his day he was a member of an elite team, it's porbably the safest place in the Uchiha district right now.
Itachi: Who's your grandpa?
Shisui: Kagami Uchiha
Itachi: Really? That's Amazing, he was a member of the Second Hokage's elite team!
Shisui: I know, so cool right?
Shisui looked at Itachi with a proud grin, Itachi never got to hang around with kids his own age, all his training was done one to one with his father, and while Shisui wasn't his own age, he felt that he might be the first friend he's ever made. They made it to the house of Kagami Uchiha, and with no time to spare, as three other masked ninja landed just behind them.
Yoshikazu: Listen up kids, the way I see things, we're uprooting no need to kill witnesses, just hand over the Hokage's brat and we'll be leaving.
Shisui: You must be crazy, we might be young, but we're still shinobi, we're not going to just abandon our mission!
???: That's my boy, now you three wouldn't be picking on my Grandson would you?
Nampo: Well **** me, it's Kagami Uchiha, you're a legend, you're also a has been, step aside or we'll kill you too.
Kagami: Watch your language around the young ones. Are you forgetting I'm of the same generation as your boss? I've spent all of my life in war, I will not hesitate to kill any of you, so leave, before you make me come out of retirement.
Ikki: The fact that you're putting yourself on the same level as Lord Danzo is an insult, while he has kept involved in the goings on of this village, and trained every day, you have sat in your rocking chair, falling out of practice.
Kagami: So that's a hard no from all three of you then?
Nampo: You're damn right it is!
Kagami: I told you to watch your mouths! Besides, the fight is already over.
Suddenly before their very eyes, the two boys and the infants were gone, already inside the house, eagerly watching from the window upstairs. Kagami had his back to the men, walking back into his house, the men looked down to see kunai sticking into their stomach, the wound pouring blood.
Ikki: That's impossible! A genjutsu that stayed active despite him stabbing us in the stomachs...
Nampo and Yoshikazu collapse, seconds before he finishes sentence and collapses himself saying...
Ikki: ...there's just no way...
Back in the Root hideout, the four men had reached the ensuing battle
Fugaku: No sign of Danzo, let's press on!
Minato: No, you three hold back, give support to the Anbu forces, I'll go ahead alone catch up to me when you're done here!
Shikaku: You can't go alone, these guys can handle themselves!
Minato: Our top priority right now is to maintain as much of our military force as possible, keep casualties to a minimum, then gather everyone who is still fit to fight to back me up
Fugaku: But-
Jiraiya: Since when do we argue with our Hokage, just follow his orders!
They begrudgingly entered into combat with the Root forces, as Minato went on ahead.
Kiyonobu: You predicted correctly Lord Danzo, The Fourth Hokage left behind his back up, he's approaching alone
Danzo: Very well, five of you make contact with him, everyone else come with me to the rendezvous point with our other men, it's time to leave this village... for now.
Kiyonobu went running back down the passage with 4 other root ninja following closely behind, quicker than they expected they reached Minato
Minato: Step aside and it will reflected well in your trial for your actions... or should I say, you'll receive a trial for your actions, if you stay in my way, I will simply kill you where you stand.
Kiyonobu: We will gladly die to do our duty
Minato: I know, loyalty like that is very honourable, it's such a shame you're on the wrong side
Minato raised his Kunai, and launched it toward the opposing ninja, however the quickly blew it away with a gust of wind.
Kiyonobu: Your jutsu is useless if you can't get a seal near us
Minato drew 3 more Kunai and launched them at them once again, and the Root ninja once again launched wind jutsu at the Kunai to blow them away, but Minato immediately follower up with a huge flame attack, taking shape of a phoenix, which when met with the wind jutsu, grew so large it filled the wide passageway and burnt the Root shinobi alive.
Minato: I'm not called the fastest man alive for nothing
He dashed past the smouldering bodies of the ninja, who were writhing in agony, and kept on pushing forward towards Danzo
Akio: Lord Danzo, Minato has killed them, he's pursuing us once again
Danzo: Already, damn he's moving quicker than anticipated
Akio: We could use our Earth Ninjutsu, create more tunnels, turn this place into a maze
Danzo: No... He can sense our chakra if need be, it would only slow us down, not him... Taheiji, fill the passage behind us with acid gas, melt that bastard
Taheiji: Yes Lord Danzo, it's been an honour serving you
She weaved few handseals and let out a huge breath of an acidic fog which filled the passage, ut spread down the corridor extremely fast, it reaches a few metres ahead of Minato
Minato: *Shit, I didn't even know we had a Boil Release user, still Danzo must be desperate if he's willing to give her up*
Minato stoppped in his place, and weaved multiple hand signs, and an unbelievably powerful gust of wind tore down the passage in the direction of Taheiji, pushing the acid mist along with it
Minato: Wind Style, Great Breakthrough
Taheiji reacted quickly, weaving hand signs of her own
Taheiji: Fire Style, Fire Breath Jutsu
She spits a huge stream of fire, which hits Minato's wind jutsu technique, and explodes into a ferocious blaze rocketing towards minato
Minato: Well you're certainly better than those idiots I left smouldering down the hall
Minato pulls out two Kunai in each hand, and shrouds them in lightning nature chakra, so that they would pierce the oncoming flames, he throws the and they pass through the flames like a bullet through paper, and appear on the other side, narrowly missing Taheiji. Just as the flamest are about to hit Minato, he disappears, and suddenly there he is, behind Taheiji, he slams his hend into her temple, and she slams into the wall unconscious
Danzo: She didn't even slow him down, there's a training Hall up ahead, I'm going to make my stand there. Bunzo go ahead, make preparations for my escape, everyone else will back me up
Bunzo: Yes sir
Bunzo kept pushing forward, as the others stayed in the Hall, awaiting Minato, who quickly made it to the hall.
Minato: You thought I would allow this Danzo? I'm going to kill you right here
Danzo: Why did you let her live?
Minato: I'm sorry?
Danzo: Why did you let Taheiji live? I mean the others are barely alive, but not because you spared them, they will most likely die from those burns, slowly, you relentlessly attacked them, But Taheiji you spared her, merely incapacitated her
Minato: She's young, 14 years old at most, she can still be turned back to the right side, plus she's talented
Danzo: You think you can undo their training? make them forget what I drilled into them from the moment they arrive here, in her case, the moment she was born
Minato: You've had her since her birth?
Danzo: Why of course, Ashida here is her Father
He gestured toward a tall burly looking man standing two people away from him
Minato: He sent your daughter to her death, you're okay with this?
Ashida: She's a shinobi, that makes her a tool, a weapon, nothing more. Weapons break all the time.
Minato began scattering Kunai all around the room at rapid speeds, the other shinobi just stood watching, on their guard.
Danzo: You're really going to try to fight us all?
Minato: You are all enemies of the Leaf, as The Hokage it is my duty to eliminate you
Danzo: We're the enemies of the Leaf? If it weren't for us and our work, there would be no Leaf!
Danzo made several hand seals at a blinding speed, and with a swift intake of breath he followed up with a powerful exhale of gusts of air
Danzo: Wind Style, Vacuum Spheres!
As fast as the bullet like gusts were, they weren't fast enough to hit Minato, who disappeared in an instant, he began appearing at different Kunai's in quick succession, it was impossible to connect with any of their attacks, despite all 12 of Danzo's soldiers letting loose with various different Jutsu's, one by one Minato began picking them off, slashing their throats, before they even realised they were his targets. Until it was just Minato and Danzo
Danzo: Well... that's rather disappointing, they lasted 7 minutes, I thought they would at least last 10. Well I suppose if they weren't protecting me, they might have lasted a bit longer
Minato, splashed all over with the blood of his enemies looked Danzo straight into his eyes
Minato: I'm going to kill you Danzo
Danzo: You're not a threat to me Minato
Danzo wove a series of hand signs, and spun 360 degrees, breathing out a powerful gust of wind all around him, pushing away an of the kunai within 10 feet of him. Minato decided against trying to approach him with his FTG jutsu, instead settling for besting him with his regular speed, which he was sure Danzo could not compete with, he closed in on him fast and thrust a rasengan into his stomach sending him hurtling backwards into at a blinding speed, Minato quickly followed up with a huge fire attack, making sure to burn Danzo to a crisp. Until suddenly he sensed a presence behind him, but too little too late, he turned around and shifted his head backwards out of reach of the blade of the kunai Danzo was wielding, but unfortunately not out of the reach of the wind he infused with the blade to extend it's reach and increase it's cutting capacity, it sliced from about 7 centimetres above the base of his chin, right up through his lower lip on the right side of his face, blood gushed everywhere as Minato disappeared out to one of his marked Kunai, clutching his face.
Danzo: Why didn't you do that as soon as you sensed my presence?
Minato: I wanted a closer look at your jutsu
Danzo: Learn anything?
Minato: No... how is it possible? We had a theory that it was Izanagi, but you've used it once, recently, and as I can already see your left eye isn't a sharingan. Which means it's something else
Danzo: If that's the conclusion you've came to...
Minato: But every Jutsu has it's limits, you can't do that infinitely, that would make you... immortal
Danzo: Whose to say I'm not?
Minato: Immortal people don't run
???: Very good Minato Boy... Now if you wouldn't mind letting us leave, I'd be very grateful
A shadowy figure emerges from the exit passage
Minato: Orochimaru!
Orochimaru: Have you missed me? I'm sure your sensei has
Minato: You know people called you a genius, they used to compare me to you, but you must be an idiot to appear before me, today is a glorious day, I get to kill two of the greatest living threats to the Leaf Village, in one go!
Orochimaru: Well I understand how you might think that the case right now, what's actually going to happen is, you're going to let me and Danzo walk right out of here
Minato: And why would I do something like that?
Orochimaru: Because you've lost too many people already, too many friends
Minato: And if I let you two walk out of here, I will lose even more!
Orochimaru: Except that's not a certainty, however what is a certainty, is that if you attack us, then the clone that is waiting with the group guarding Anko disappears, they will slit her throat and leave her to die. However you let us walk, then I will rendezvous with them, and leave her for you to find
Minato: And how can I trust you?
Orochimaru: You can't, you just have to hope I'm in a good mood, to be honest Anko has revolted against me, I used her as a test subject for an experiment with very low chances of survival, Alas she survived, but let's just say she wasn't too happy about the way I used her, but she's too valuable to kill. I will continue to monitor, however if you **** things up for me here, I have no need for her life at all, she will die. Make your choice, Kill me and Danzo here, or save her, you going to trade 2 lives for 1? that would be really irrational, however a man whose just lost his wife, is hardly going to rational is he?
Minato paused for a second
Minato: Go... but next time, I swear I'll kill you both.
So the Veteran and the Snake fled down the passageway to the exit, and disappeared, shortly after Fugaku, Orochimaru, and Shikaku, along with the remaining Anbu ninja arrived
Fugaku: Danzo... he bested you?
Minato: He had leverage
Jiraiya: What d'ya mean kid?
Minato: Orochimaru appeared, he was holding Anko hostage
Jiraiya: SO YOU LET HIM JUST WALK OUT OF HERE?
Minato: Anbu, I want you to spread out, search for her, Orochimaru said his clone was watching over her, which means she's nearby, he said he'd leave her for us to find
Jiraiya: YOU MEAN YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE HER? YOU'RE JUST TAKING HIS WORD, AND THEY CALL YOU A GENIUS!
Minato: Sensei, I'm sorry, I couldn't just
Jiraiya: You think her life is worth Danzo and Orochimaru's combined... she left this village with him of her own accord, for all you know she's going under as a double agent here, that's if you'll even find her
Minato: Since when did I have to ask my anbu forces twice to do something? GO!
Subaru: Lord Fourth, if we don't tend to your facial wound it'll scar, the others can go find her, and I'll tend to your wounds
Minato: I'm fine, just go
Fugaku: Fine he says... yet he just let two of the greatest criminals known to the village walk out of here, in exchange for some traitorous *****
Minato: Watch your tongue Fugaku, I'm still your Hokage!
Fugaku: You think you deserve that Mantle after that stunt you just pulled?
Minato: Question my position as Hokage again, and watch what happens Fugaku!
Shikaku: This is no time for bickering, Fugaku remember your place, now we must retreat and lick our wounds
Minato: I'm going looking for Anko
Shikaku: Lord Hokage, a civil war just broke out, aren't you at all concerned for your son?
Minato: ...You're right Shikaku, thank you
With that Minato disappeared, and reappeared at the Uchiha District, where he saw the ensuing battle between Mikoto and the Root Ninja, whom had the upper hand on her. He swiftly crashed down on two of the three Root shinobi with a rasengan in each hand, killing them. He then turned to the third, and before he could react, picked up the tanto of one of the dead root ninja's and pierce his heart with it.
Mikoto: Lord Hokage, thank you, I didn't think I could last much longer... your face you're-
Minato: Where is my son?
Mikoto: I left him with Itachi, Shisui and Kakashi but a fourth Root bastard went after them, I couldn't stop him. Please, is Fugaku okay?
Minato: He's fine.
And with that, Minato took off in a flash, heading toward the Police HQ. It wasn't long before he reached the building, where he found both Kakashi and Guy unconscious, and a dead Root shinobi. Kakashi was bleeding out. Minato summoned a toad, and instructed it to take Kakashi and Guy to the nearest hospital, while Minato continued to search for his son. Until eventually he was in range to sense his son's chakra. He walked over the corpses of the root ninja to and continued on up the path, to the modest house, where before he could even knock on the door, it opened, and he was welcomed inside by an elderly Uchiha
Minato: Thank you, for protecting my boy
Kagami: No need to thank me, I'm still a member of this village, we look after our own
Minato: Where is Naruto?
Kagami: He's upstairs, sleeping. The boys brought him here
Minato: I'm taking him home with me
Kagami: Let my wife clean you up first, you look like a horror show, you'll scar the boy for life
Minato: ...Good point
Shisui: How did it go Lord Hokage?
Minato: You protected my boy?
Shisui: Ohh, it was nothing really
Minato: Not to me it wasn't, how old are you? 8 at most, and already a fine shinobi. You give me hope for the future of our village, you too Itachi
Itachi appears from behind Shisui
Itachi: I didn't really do anything, I was just there
Minato: Sometimes, being there by your friends side is enough, you'll receive commendations, of course it'll be on the down low, to the general public this will all just have been a training exercise, but amongst the shinobi, your names will be known. People will have their eyes on you two.
Itachi: Will everyone who was involved in the defence of the village receive commendations?
Minato: No...
Itachi: Then I don't want one either, we were all just doing our parts as shinobi
Shisui: He's right, our age shouldn't be a factor, we weren't trying to be heroes, we were just doing our duty
Minato: Well then... I guess you'll just have to settle for me keeping my eye on you, I expect great things from you two.
