Tsunade wasnot useless in actual battle. Actually kishimoto decided to have 3 or 4 pains destroyed by tsunade but that didnt occur because of his staff.

What would have occured if the Pein Attack on the village occured but all the characters were from their Boruto counterpart children included, would anything be different? Would the kids change anything?

Choji my man is down previously but i believe he is stronger post war, he will deal with the pein summon.. I thnk Tsunade will lead with the help several anbu with Shikamaru, Hinata and Konohamaru as her close aid. Sakura will do some konoha's healing and chakura backup for Tsunada and Katsuyu. Aburame clan will finish off Konan and Konoha 11 will probably defeating pain path while all new generation will do the same thing as Konohamaru team before..

Anyway, other than Naruto and Sasuke I believe only Hinata, Shikamaru, Choji and Lee have the guts and strength to stand up to Pein while others might simply forget to breath or would cry for help or just hide somewhere.
