Sasuke vs Temari - Temari ~ Temari even at this point in the story is a very skilled long-ranged fighter, which already gives her an advantage, not to mention the fact that she can glide around on her fan. Temari uses wide sweep attacks with her wind nature so I see any fire style attack that Sasuke uses just being blown back at him despite the fact that Fire > Wind. Forget about chidori because Wind > Lightning.

I guess it's true that I might've overestimated Temari in assuming that she was almost as good as she was during the Sasuke retrieval arc. Going by the video alone, she was worlds different in strength by that point, though she also said that she was low on chakra at the start of her fight with sasuke. He could still use chidori(Not sure how the chakra consumption between their attacks compare though). I feel that in the open arena with nothing to hide behind like in that forest, temari would have a slight locational advantage.

I'll stick by my answer and say that Temari could still win, but not so definite anymore. Some good points were made in Sasuke's defense here. I don't think it would be a stomp on either side.

You've misread this thread.

This is about who would win the actual tournament, not who would become chuunin.

Sasuke was exhausted from 1 chidori, leaving him only one (or two if he uses Cm, but they'd stop the match if he pulled out CM like Kakashi said in the preliminaries). Naruto on the other hand still has access to the 9 tails chakra.

I don't see your point, as nothing indicates that the finals would be fought the same day. I have no idea what even gave you that impression.

Naruto at K0 almost lost to Neji, when he had Kurama's chakra to aid him - He called upon it specifically. He isn't getting past Kid Sasuke. Who at the hospital roof, despite being injured proved to be a superior fighter.

If you go back to the Sasuke vs Gaara fight. Gaara went unconscious after he got chidori'd by Sasuke. Genma would have called it a win for Sasuke because Gaara was out cold. If Gaara transformed in to Shukaku the match would have been stopped...

Same instance with Naruto if kyubi chakra began gushing out and he went berserk, the match would have been cancelled.

Umm why would all of those people spent an hour or so getting a seat just to watch a few matches? + in the preliminaries they did not catch a break because Hiruzen explained that it's realistic for ninjas to fight even while they're fatigued. It adds more depth for those that advance rounds to see how they would preserve their chakra for the fights afterwards. After all it was stated that the purpose of the tournament was to see who had the skills to be a chuunin, not to see who would win the tournament.
