I meant it figuratively. Sasuke used it at the beginning of the fight. He used Grand Fireball to create a distraction in order to cloud naruto's field of vision so he could execute his Rin'negan shifting ability. Naruto was in base until the the fireball came near him, which he used to brush it off, to which Sasuke knocked him back with his Chidori.

That is speculation. It distinctly looks to be footspeed, not shifting speed. He even looks as if he just ran around Naruto.

And as you said, Sasuke's vision was clouded as well. You can't shift where you cannot see.

Necro, come on man. You're one of the more observant and intelligent users on the base. There isn't a distinction to behold. Nobody has the foot speed to blitz someone with Naruto's level of Senjutsu because of his sensing ability. You need to be instant, which Sasuke's shifting ability is, in order to get the jump on Naruto.

I agree, the wank will be real this week. Sasuke didn't try hard, nor did Naruto. I do, however, agree with someone said above about Sasuke obviously trying a bit harder. He's noticeably on the offensive so far. Nardo has only defended himself as of yet. Regardless this should be a pretty good fight.

As Trans said, Naruto would have sensed him coming around. There's no way Naruto only noticed him just as he was about to hit. Naruto's sensing is far better than that. Notice Naruto only notices in the panel where Sasuke shows up.

But killing intent =\= power boost
