Why create obvious match-ups when taking away their main abilities?
Sasuke didn't have Itachi's eyes for 487 chapters, and even without ANY external power sources Sasuke was one of the best at the beginning of the story, and would have continued to be without them, especially if Masashi had Sasuke use his abilities to their full potential.

False, Sasuke taking drugs was nothing nor than speculation from Tsunade/Sakura cause they were surprised by how strong he had gotten.

Did you forget that no one wanted anything to do with Naruto because he's a Jinchuriki? That's one of the primary reasons why he was underdeveloped in his knowledge because he wanted attention and started doing pranks. And what do you mean by applying himself? He was constantly doing that, but it wasn't getting him anywhere because of Kurama's massive power within him.
I blame this on Naruto's teachers more than him. Kakashi played favorites with Sasuke and Jiraiya didn't bother to teach him what he knew.
Would he? Keep in mind that Naruto and Sasuke mastered tree climbing at the same time despite the heavy restrictions on Naruto's end. Naruto did better against Gaara when he transformed compared to Sasuke too. Naruto was also the leading factor for Sasuke going to Orochimaru for power because of jealously.
If anything, it says a lot about Naruto's potential compared to Sasuke's, though I find them both naturally talented.
Naruto later learned how to use the power on his own. He didn't ask for it when used some of it before he confronted Kimimaro.

Kakashi didn't play favorites, the reason he choose to train Sasuke during the Chunin Exams was because he knew Orochimaru was after, gave him the CM, and was trying to make Sasuke rely on him for power. To bring down the chances of Sasuke going to Orochimaru, Kakashi trained him in order to help him significantly become stronger within a short amount of time.
Naruto wasn't in danger at the time, and needed to work on the basics.
As I said, the Kyuubi withheld Naruto but Naruto himself has massive amounts of chakra, which helped him Tree climb right along with Sasuke for several days in a row, the negative vs the positives kinda balanced each other out.
And Naruto went to the Ninja academy for years like Sasuke, yet didn't know what nature elements were until he was 16, whereas by that time Sasuke already mastered 2, again, I covered this in my previous posts.
If he paid attention in the academy, he would of knew of such basic information, and could have practiced.
You didn't stomp anyone. I just found it weird that you'll talk about Naruto's character because of specific reasons, but not Sasuke's for the same reason.
