If Itachi Were Still Alive...

What difference would it make to the story? Would he still be capable of totsukaing madara, and maybe even putting him under genjutsu? etc.

Naruto has a nation to back him up Itachi only has his brother and depending on weather or not he was there at the time could change things. Knowing Obito he would try pitting the Alliance against Itachi right from the get go by disguising the Uchiha Massacre.

And because Itachi does not want anyone to know the truth except for a select few he may even try to play the villain image in-front of the alliance and make up some bs reason as to why he wants to take out Obito.

This could change however if Naruto keeps his mouth shut or not also if Sasuke where there when this was happining he would just shout out the entire Uchiha Massacure to everyone to try and save face.

with itachi on a team that team would be really strong. I am 100% confident that if itachi were here, he, sasuke and naruto could solo current madara.
Itachi's power and intelligence on a team makes him ridicoulous powerful.

Next to madara, he possibly has the most intel on the uchiha clan since he studied their history extensively as a kid. He'd make a dramatical difference against juubito and madara due to knowledge on the uchiha, uchiha techs, and whatever partial history he could read off the uchiha tablet.

If he was alive then he probably would be dead due to his illness and MS side effects but his stamina should be fine if Naruto gave him chakra. I don't see him using Totsuka blade since sealing jutsu is ninjutsu and Juubito would just destroy the sealing powers and render the blade just a blade. Also I don't think yata mirror can block yin yang infused 4 element black jinton, it defied Edo tensei so why wouldn't it defy the Yata mirror? The Rinnegan is OP for a reason ^.^

Genjutsu wouldn't be effective to Uchiha's who mastered the Sharingan to the degree Obito and Madara did, Itachi called Madara (Tobi) teacher and who knows you more than your teacher in NV?
