If Itachi had sided with the uchiha?

What would change story wise had Itachi chosen to side with the uchiha clan over the leaf village?
Would the uchiha clan have won or been slaughtered by danzo and the leaf villages anbu?

warning major wall ahead: theres 3 possibilities
1. Itachi saves sasukes life and he is taken in by orichimaru
2. Sasuke is killed with his clan
3. Itachi saves sasukes life and Obito takes him in.


Scenario 1
I think the coup would be stopped and the uchiha clan still murdered but by the village instead, Itachi may still find a way to save Sasukes life but this would probably lead to him getting into either Obito or orichimarus hands sooner, I'd say as soon as Itachi still saves sasuke life, probably by taking him away from the village. Let's say Obito has no use for the young uchiha but orihimaru knowing Sasuke is the last Uchiha would go for him and get his body before he becomes more powerful then orichimaru.

In the end orichimaru would win, with the sharingan, maybe even the mankekyo, killing the 3rd hokage would be easier. The leaf wouldn't stand a chance after orichimarus invasion and so they probably have to evacuate, also let's assume Naruto still somehow beats garra. So they evacuate the rookie 9 and alot of jonin. The sand village learning of orichimarus betrayal will work with the survivors to fight orichimaru and it becomes war with orichimaru's sound village I guess jiraiya and tsunade will still come back to help with this and still train Naruto and Sakura. Soon the akatsuki come for garra and Naruto but with tracking ninja like neji, hinata and kiba they'd find them fast and get them back from a weakened deidara and sasori as they'd have more people near by as opposed to having to travel 3 days to the sand village.

So the akatsuki probably get dealt with by Naruto and garra who become rivals after the chunin exams until pain arrives and if Naruto still learns senjutsu he can take him down. With Bee,garra and Naruto the akatsuki is missing 3 jinchuriki and can't revive the tentails since orichimaru has kabuto with him still he has no reason to revive madara or kinkaku and ginkaku nor does zetsu have a reason to go to Kabuto with madaras corpse as they're still missing 3 jinchuriki. in the end Obito will come after the three of them but if kakashi survives they can still use his mankekyo sharingan to take out obito with no tentails he's alot easier to beat when they're all in a group. Orichimaru would probably be dealt with last but he could team up with the akatsuki and get taken out along side them.

Another thing to consider in all this is if Naruto still learns to master the ninetails, if the five kage summit still happens after akatsuki tries to get bee then yes obito still wages war and they hide Naruto, Garra and Bee on the island and maybe even Garra masters shukaku too. with 3 perfect jinchuriki they break out and fight in the war. If Orichimaru helps he'd still be able to use some edo tensei but not as many as this wouldn't be a plan he's had for awhile and would be a recent thing, with kabuto he'd been digging up bodies for months before the war. Madara gets revived and they beat Naruto, garra and bee stealing the bijuu as Madara did by himself, he then forces obito to revive him he becomes the tentails jinchuriki activates IT and Kaguya takes Madaras body, end result Kaguya wins as Naruto can't be revived as No one revives minato with the other half of kurama.


Scenario 2
If sasuke is still killed same end result as above since we need sasuke to beat kaguya with naruto.


Scenario 3
Now if Obito gets to sasuke before orichimaru does. If Obito gets sasuke first he trains him to master the sharingan and uses him in the akatsuki in place of Itachi. Sasuke seeks revenge on the leaf and will attack it probably while trying to capture Naruto. Since Sasuke doesn't have the ms Asuma, kureinai, kakashi and guy are probably enough to make Sasuke retreat with kisame. 3 years pass Sasuke through training archives the ms like shusui. Garra is still captured as are the rest of the jinchuriki save for Naruto and bee and sasuke begins to lose his sight, however Obito probably got ahold of Itachis eyes somehow and gives them to sasuke. Sasuke attacks the summit does better but is still overwhelmed, even more so without karin there to heal him. Sasuke needs Obitos help due to his weakened state but still kills Danzo. Pain is still taken care of by Naruto. The war begins, Orichimaru wanting Sasukes eyes offers to help the war effort and uses the same edo tenseis as Kabuto.


The edo tenseis are beaten as they were before Sasuke is kept hidden but leaves on his own, the edo tensei is not stopped as Itachi didn't get to set up koto amatsukami in Naruto. Naruto and bee are beaten without Itachis help to fight nagato unless Naruto gets BM here for the sake of argument let's say he does and beats Nagato and Itachi with the help of bees sealing jutsu. They fight Obito and his paths of pain and beat them and fight Obito until he revives the tentails using kinkaku and the eight tails tentacle and sasuke ends up joining with Obito and Madara, Sasuke fights Naruto here while Madara and Obito destroy the ninja fighting the tentails. Naruto and Sasuke kill each other and the tentails is sealed into Obito who activates IT and is then stabbed by black zetsu leaving Madara as an edo tensei to fight Kaguya and the final truth seeker orb will kill him in the end.

SO Itachi siding with Konoha saves the whole world in the end with all 3 scenarios

Hiruzen could barely beat Orichimaru with sharingan, with the sharingan orichimaru wins that fight and thus the chain of events change.

When Zetsu explains about Kaguya he says he brought Madars corpse to Kabuto.

Well only scernio that works in is in the one where his cause of death is fighting Sasuke, Sakura might save Narutos life in this version and he still meets hagoromo and gets both seals, but as Obito is the jinchuriki he'd use the seals on Obito and befriend shukaku and gyuki then. With Obito sealed no one can revive Madara and naruto uses his truth seeking balls to stop madara.

also for such a large scale operation i feel like obito would have brought out a few zetsu to lay traps and stuff around the village and sneak into the enemy camp at night and whatnot seeing as nobody has intel on zetsu at this point

there was also that instance in which itachi met privately with danzo before the extermination. he could have easily had obito waiting and ambushed him and taken him out or at least taken a few of his eyes if danzo even had them yet

Against an entire village the two wouldn't last long sooner or later itachis tsukuyomi would leave him exhausted after 2 uses max, once for hiruzen and once for kakashi but guy would come in and clean up with the eight gates, even then after 2 uses Itachi is on power down mode and is quite weakened, from there the original ino-shika-cho or the hyuuga or inuzuka could team up on them. The uchia was one clan but the leaf has several and outnumbers the uchiha it would last a week long at most but the coup would end in failure. Obito would after a while retreat as he wanted to work from the shadows and had his own agenda, besides why would he fight with the ucha, he helped Itachi because he wanted the eyes for experiments and crap.

Ok I'll write up a fourth scenario then

scenario 4
The Uchiha with the help of Obito take over the village and Obito takes this opportunity and chaos to capture the 7 year old Naruto and extract the nine tails. Obito then leaves the Uchiha to their own devices and will probably be attacked by other villages starting the 4th great ninja war which probably ends in the Uchiha's extinction and complete destruction of the hidden leaf. Let's say Obito saves Itachi and Sasuke to be members of the akatsuki Itachi refuses until Obito say's he'll kill sasuke if he refuses so he joins. The akatsuki easily capture the remaining tailed beasts with no interference from Konoha as its gone. Assuming bee still escapes capture Obtito declares the 5th great ninja war with most if not all the akatsuki members still surviving. Zetsu gives Orichimaru Madaras corpse and allows him to keep it if he revives him with edo tensei. Edo tensei madara kills orichimaru and Kabuto and forces Nagato to revive him. He takes Nagatos eyes and with Obito revives the tentails. He probably will kill Obito to seal the tentails within himself or just trap him in the IT, and then is solo'd by Kaguya

Now for the sake of argument say Naruto is protected by anbu and jonin and they retreat they'll likely still encounter Obito and be killed at some point as that's alot less protection then he had when tehre was an entire village to protect the jinchuriki.
