I don't recall Itachi ever killing someone with his jutsu. He sealed nagato because nagato can't move due to his leg injuries and orochimaru was a big target and didn't even try to dodge the sword. His amaterasu and tsykyomi never killed anyone. Hidan killed Asuma, so does that make him smarter?

Deidara was able to defeat gaara....does that make him smarter?

Guy defeated Kisame.

Nagato is both smarter and stronger than killer bee if you ask me...so I don't see your point

and I'm not denying Itachi isn't in top 10.....I'm denying the godly intelligence and supposed capabilities of the character that every fanboy seems to implore. All the excuses are his intelligence leads him to victory against any character if he had full health. And that his Totsuka blade defeats everyone also.

NO! Even going back to something like the Kabuto fight. Without Izanami(a deus ex if you ask me) and being an edo, he wouldn't have won. Kabuto's reflex's are superior to his since he could even dodge Sasuke Susanoo arrow....and that is a lot faster than the Totsuka blade.

Amaterasu, he could shed his skin just like Sasuke did. And he overall would have beaten Itachi if he weren't an edo since he would need to replicate both A movements for Izanami to work and that would cost his life just about. Saying he's not going all out in that battle doesn't mean he would lower his defense at all, or any character for that matter. Kabuto wasn't going all out either since he didn't mean to kill sasuke and tried to capture them both.

Also with Jiraiya. I doubt Itachi would win since jiraiya has a variety of sealing techs, offensive and sound genjutsu which Itachi would uncountably counter, seeing as though he was caught in Kabuto's sound genjutsu.

Itachi would probably go 50/50 with kisame, considering he has widespread area techs like engulfing one with water. I surely doubt that susanoo could protect Itachi from drowning nor can he. Kisame has been seen to be fast enough to dodge a majority of attacks, making Totsuka blade not very effective.

Obito, minato, nagato with healed legs, etc. His intelligence would not be able to defeat them all 1v1 100% of the time as people claim. Sure he most definitely could win against them, but not consecutively or anything close to being called ownage.

Could've, should've, would've. I don't doubt he can win a majority of fights, but not to the extent that people claim and not as easily. He is top ten, but that doesn't mean he can win against every other top 10 character consecutively or even at all. I think you misunderstand when I say overrated.

Minato is overrated for his ftg and godly instincts from 2 battles.

Itachi is overrated for his intelligence and power because we never seen him go "all out". Well deidara never went all out as an edo either, but we know what he's capable of. We know what Itachi can do, but people act like he can even do more....and that's where I say no he can't.

And if you think that sounds stupid, then that just means you're just backing Itachi up because of biased opinion.

I never stated Naruto and Bee would have won against Nagato without Itachi.
But if X cannot defeat Y without the help of Z, it doesn't mean that Z can defeat Y without the help of X.
In other words, Naruto and Bee would not be able to deal with Nagato alone, but Itachi would not be able either.

Itachi sealed Nagato, so what? It doesn't mean he gets the full credit for defeating him. If that was the case, then I guess Kakashi who finished off Kakuzu with Raikiri should claim all the credit for defeating him, too.

If Naruto and Bee weren't there, Itachi would be pulverized by Chibaku Tensei. Gosh, it's so obvious, why am I even discussing this? :|
