Let me clarify: regardless of sasuke getting faster/fast as Lee, Sasuke would have still survive/won because plot demands it. At the end of the day, Kishi would have found a way for Sasuke to leave off to Orochimaru....

Someone can still lose a battle without and still go on to do something important.Like when Sasuke Vs the Raikage first came out.Some people may have been thinking Sasuke would win simply because he had to fight Danzo later,so they used the infamous plot excuse.And what happened? Sasuke still lost and fought Danzo.

A character can still lose and do an important event later that was foreshadowed.In world circumstances is why characters don't die every time they face danger,but when characters do survive in those cases,if the person doesn't like a character they will use the infamous plot excuse.

There's been other plot things, for example: how IT worked on people who lacked chakra, since genjutsu messes with chakra in the brain, how madara can see through shadow clones, and other things the manga doesn't directly address. I've tried to give a reason why Kakashi and Obito were able to move while Naruto and Sasuke were not, but again the manga should have gave the explanation instead of people trying to find the answer/logic themselves, which still is at the end of the day-subjective.

But anyway I digress, this is getting off topic anyway..

He'd be dead, in all seriousness. Sasuke got some plot-love and stole Lee's speed because he couldn't do the training himself.

Without that speed, he gets negged by Gaara even harder and eaten, as does every other opponent. Deidara, Ei, Danzo, Orochimaru, Yamato, all merk him if not his basic copy ability. Rock Lee effectively is Sasuke's guardian angel.

Sasuke still had to train to not only be able to fully use Lee's taijutsu but to increase his speed too. The Sharingan allows you to copy jutsus but you need to have the ability to use the jutsu. Sasuke increase his speed with Shunshin, use of chakra in your feet to increase your speed. Sasuke having the ability to even copy Lee's taijutsu is because of his skills.
