A good theory, however i think is to obvious to be obito himself, my theory on who it is lies with Kagami Uchiha who was a member of the third hockages and danzos team under the second hokage. He even has the same haircut as tobi. haha
however all theories are valid and any one could be right as well as any one could be wrong.

the recent manga seems to provide further proof that tobi is not obito actually. Kakashi says "where did you get that sharingan?", and then tobi says that he got it at the battle where obito died. This means that he never had it his whole life, it means that he acquired it, or stole it, from obito's body (dead or alive).

The one n only who can change a child like Obito is Lord Orochimaru.....like he did to Sasuke. .

I believe it was Danzo and thats why he apeared to have a anbu mask while fighting minato, i bet danzo shadowed him, saved him, and twisted his mind just like he did to: Kabuto, Itachi, and Orochimaru! Also makes since how Itachi came into contact with him when he went to wipe out the uchiha clan i bet danzo assigned him along with Itachi!!! Never thought of that one did ya now people!

I can prove otherwise that Tobi is not Obito. I just said this was FURTHER proof, not definitive proof.

If it turns out Tobi is Obito my guess would be that Obito used his Space–Time Migration accidentally or like a reflex when the boulder fell ontop of him.

  This is the first time he ever used Space–Time Migration since he awakened the 3 tomoe just a few moments earlier.

• Obito stated that he could not feel the crushed part off his body at all. He really believed this. The reason he could not feel it was because it was not there, it was in another dimension.

• This is where he learned how to fool others into thinking attacks would just go through him without revealing the secrets of his jutsu. This was such an effective method that he managed to fool both Rin, himself & Kakashi into thinking he was crushed.

His change of life perspective is still but a mystery to me though as is Zetsu.

I might add manga pages to clarify this to those who have not yet seen Obito or just don't fully get it.

Ah, finally someone who doesn't insult people for "OMFG RETARD GTFO HES NOT OBITO!" hah, like their insulting us for trying to think of twists. Anyway, I do agree with you, maybe Obito was influenced by the Moons eye plan said by Madara, perhaps all he said was peace and kept the true evil part under wraps so he could influence Obito more, and Tobi wants real peace, that's all he wants. The power he had to control the Kyuubi and fight Minato? All Tobi did was attempt to fight Minato with chains, and he only thought no one could fight against his intangibility, overconfidence probably struck him like a rock. Which explains why he lost the same exact way Kakashi did, underestimating his "sensei" but yeah. The knowledge part was Tobi(Obito) was trained by Madara, and given tips to control the 9tails, then Madara taught him all he knew, because he's already manipulated the boy. Maybe he even used a Zetsu to recover his body and age it so people wouldn't notice his idenity I dunno.. Although, good theory +rep

You should realize that Tobi 100% cannot be Obito. Just saying.
