Well, Im not telling you that 8th gate will go toe-to-toe with madara. It is just for stalling time until Naruto and Sasuke return back. And till now we have only seen how 4 swordsmen died in the anime (zabuza, raiga, fugaki, and kisame). When Dai faced the previous generation, only two of them survived after the battle (fugaki and raiga). That means remaining five members died (just a theory though).
+ we don't know how good dai was with the gates, with taijutsu maybe he did not even knew all the secrets/moves etc.... what are you talking about? You do realize the only reason Naruto's generation is partially exempt is because the Sand Village/Orochimaru attacked the village, halting the exams, right? Those ninja would've gone on to become chuunin and so forth, granted! Sasuke became a missing nin (which makes rank non-existent) and Naruto is a jinchuuriki (they also can't be held to the same standard). As for the rest of the shinobi in the generation, Neji became a jounin which makes him stronger than the rest of K11 #mangafact

However, in this current sense, we are referring to Dai, a justly ranked Genin, using the Eight Gates and comparing it to Gai, a justly ranked Jounin.
Here, Might Dai uses the 8th, and final Gate to attempt to buy his son, and son's friends, time. At least enough time for them to run away.

However, I believe that the 8 Gates act as a multiplier. Multiplying the base power level!

rank is good and all but still not the deciding factor. i think if lee wanted to, he could own neji. im pretty sure chouji in his butterfly mode could beat neji. possibly shikamaru. no one is butthurt so you dont have to bring out the derogatory sht to make you feel superior. sure it took dai 20 years to learn, but we dont know how long it took gai to learn it. dai for all we know could have learned it by himself. gai is at least 30 so he could have learned it at like age 26+ and since dai has been training forever, 20 years could mean since he was first starting out. if anything, based whether or not lee can go 8th gates would show a bigger interval of learning the technique more than gai and dai. lee is like 16. gai is at least 30 and im sure dai was around his 30s. maybe even 28.

More or less all of them probably died, seeing how most of them were revived as edo and how some were replaced by new members (probably due to having died).

yeah i had an open mind to many options of how it worked, and i do believe it is a multiplier, it just sad that something being hyped to be on judaras level is barely capable of handling 7 swordsmen. i see gai as higher than jounin level. i really think hes at least kage level even though his rank says jounin. same with kakashi. kakashi is way op and > kage level. same goes for sasuke/naruto and orochimaru, and others. i know they are two different people, but someone that is ranked genin and is able to pull off the 8th gates can't possibly be a weakling base power level.You're comparing two completely different people, my friend.

i was not reffering only why dai used the 8 gates ****, you can use the gates if you have physical training, i can run for 20 years and do push-ups etc that dose not mean i am A at fight i would only have a strong body and that's all. fact is his dad suck's at taijutsu or atleast is not on rock's lee level.gui is on another level + he is jonin is dad was genin not because he was baka, gui is also baka but he still managed to become a jounin (your thread is usless, think before you make one)
