True. By approximately 20+%
False. Soil depletion is a multifaceted issue that can mostly be attributed to agricultural practices. Also, as it currently stands the majority of crops (67% with a margin of error of 10) are producted to sustain an animal agricultural industry, which which involves several 60 or so billion animals year round, and trillions of animals over the years.
The amount of space we would need to grow food would only decrease. I don't have to explain why feeding several trillion animals is harder to feed a constant 7 billion humans.
False. B12 is found in manufactured foods, such as enriched grains such as pasta, cereal, oats, etc., fruit juices, water, ans plant based milks. Fun Fact: B12 is a product of bacteria found in wild soil, meaning the vast majority of factory farm animals would be B12 deficient if it wasn't for farmers supplementing B12 into the animals.
Maybe in a 3rd world country, where Malnutrition is already commonplace. If you live in a 1st world country, there is no excuse.
Name the vitamins that's found in an omnivorous diet that can't be found in a vegan diet?
False. The national institute of health and biotechnology has proven that a vegan diet is suitable for all stages of human life. Vegans have an overall less rate of all cause morality, heart diesease, diabetes, atherosclerosis, cancer, etc. Meat is classified as a class 1 carcinogen for Christ sake. To claim health would be a concern on a vegan diet requires severe ignorance of the data.
There is no moral justification for eating meat.
Hmm I didn’t say anything about “Soil depletion” and B12 deficiency due to vegan diet or other health issues is not false. I’ve read about cases involving vegans, who didn’t know about the importance of B12 ,will often skip out of such supplements or other foods. They will develop the symptoms, the longer they avoid that vitamin since the body stores B12 in the liver for around two to 5 years or if they are not getting enough.Everyone is different,so some may need less B12 while others will need more. Which not all of those foods or drinks you spoke of, usually have b12 in it or it’s in small amounts. Some fortified cereal do. The oatmeal, pasta and fruit juice I have doesn’t contain B12. Being deficient in other B vitamins pose different risk factors for the body. So I am still going to assume that the number of B12 deficiencies will increase, even if it is insignificant.
Also you stated “farmers supplementing B12 into the animals” when I had mentioned deer . Deer meat is a good source of B12 and found in the wild. So I am fully aware of any “fun facts” but thanks for trying to make this fun...I guess.
I’ll try to keep this short as my opinions hasn’t changed while discussing the possibility of, if everyone was vegan and what the outcome may be. Human population growth ,climate change, and other issues may come into play that could effect current farm lands in the future. Thus causing us to look for unclaimed land to farm ,forcing/killing other animals during the process to keep up with demands. Which we are still doing today even for only farming crops that vegans will eat, based on seeing my local farms expanding by cutting down trees (changing the environment) and tilling/planting.
Of course too much of anything and how it is handled can cause health issues. Just like going over the daily recommended amount of certain vitamins could effect your body negatively, yet vitamins are healthy for you. Point is, people need the type of foods including meat in order for them to survive and maintain a healthy diet (The key is moderation). Especially for those who lives in colder and dryer environments, those who are poor/homeless or can’t eat certain foods.
*Even if later they may end up getting cancer along with other health issues from consuming foods that may or may not contain preservatives/harmful chemicals and bacteria*.
For the majority of people they have moral justification for eating meat. Obviously you are refusing to acknowledge their response cause it doesn’t correspond with your morals that you had applied to yourself. Though with the rise of synthetic meat ,if humans can accept it ,they will no longer need to kill an animal to eat meat.Perhaps future humans will be living off synthetic meat and plant diet with the exception of those who may not be able to afford to buy it. Will you be satisfied with such results? Or will vegans and other people claim that eating synthetic meat is wrong as well? I wonder.
Though I wonder if you are not contributing to the suffering and killings of animals in anyway while judging those who eat meat. For me giving druggies money is wrong,if you feel the same way,do you support meat eaters by giving them money? Do you support stores that carry meat or do you grow your own foods? If you do get your food from certain farms are you making sure that their pest control methods doesn’t involve shooting/poisoning wild animals who are trying to eat the crops? Or does your morals only apply to farm animals?
Though some things can’t be helped as our action today will effect the future in different ways but if you want to try to live life with clean hands, you need to at least attempt to live by your morals. Otherwise you are the hypocrite that you claimed others to be. Especially if you are aware of it yet don’t change your ways.
