Right i was curious as to the specifics of ichigos hollow power(s)/ mask evolution - because i hadnt looked at the 'old' manga for ages - so i trawled through my memory for when ichigo got a new feature on his hollow mask(s) and thought id be nice and share it
Initial one is when he regains his shinigami abilities. Simple - 2 bands on his forehead
During the battles prior to ichigo rescuing rukia on sogyoku. He hasnt yet learnt to use his hollow powers yet but the mask appears and protects him from (potentialy) fatal blows against renji/zaraki.
(Note: Extra black line on his forehead and across his cheek)
This is his outer appearence when ichigo is battleing his inner hollow - shirosaki w/e in his inner world and the Vaizards are battling his hollow controlled/transformed body
(Note the 2nd marking across his cheek)
This is him in hueco mundo battling...
...cant remember his name xd the guy with snakey bird things made of wind...il edit this bit some other time
(Note: He has an extra band across his forehead which causes them all to be merged. In a similar way the 2 across his cheek are merged )
This is him vs Grimmjow Jeagerjaques in hueco mundo
(Note the third band across his cheek, and the three bands on his lower jaw which are all linked)
This is him Vs ulq. Post cero to the chest
Note his change of mask shape (Horns duh)
The 6 bands that splay out from the "hollow" hole in his chest
2 of which appear to go up his nech onto his face (Lower jaw - cheek and forehead) There is also extra small ones beside them on his head
This is him (post plotkai victory against ulquiorra) vs Yammi - our favourite espada
The picture shows him with 2 bands - one on each side of his mask - that go across his entire face.
Now im too knackered having done all that to make a long comment with my opinion in it.
But note the number of episodes it took him to develop extra bands merging etc...and then think about the mask he pulled out against yammi and how much further its got to go to get to the one that owned ulquiorra.
Also if the bands on his face go down to his hollow hole - what does the extra mini bands on his face in the ulquiorra fight indicate. Extra extra hollow ups...xd
By the way if i have missed any part of the evolution out - shout it out or better yet put the photo in ur reply and il edit it into my initial one at a later date
