Ichigo, the new Captain?

So, I have been thinking why Ichigo hasn't been made a Captain. He is stronger than any of the Captains, including Geryusai.

He has fought and defeated the strongest of them.

And why hasn't Rengi been killed off yet?

Any thoughts.

just because he is a human..i mean a substitute shinigami..

i think its because he is not a complete shinigami and renji is an important character in they story they cant just kill him like that xd
