In offense of the narrator, long before Kaguya and JJ Madara, without Naruto I believe they would of all died. Remember he was the one that changed the tide of the war with defeating the Zetsu's. Anything else beyond that I could care less.

I want to visit Japan after highschool before I go to university/college
Same. Hopefully we'll both get to visit Japan one day, that country is beautiful.

I can't believe people are Rly excited about this abysmally written follow up.

Naruto has a kid who looks exactly like him and his name is Boruto and he's just like Naruto. Really? Ppl are Rly eating this shit up too smh.

Wouldn't it be more interesting if Naruto's kid had the personality of sasukes kid at least? Why do the same exact story again? Why do kids at all? Why is there even still a story at all? Didn't naruto fix the world and unite the villages? Why not go back and tell us what happened after Kakashi came back to the village after rin died? Or the ninjas before Hashirama or his contemporaries?

I feel the same, but his personality is not totally like Naruto. Kishimoto stated in an interview that he wanted to end the series with Boruto acting the same like Naruto, I should go find the link.

I'm assuming he will be different. He definitely acts cockier than Naruto, that's for sure.

Y would children acting like children infuriate u? :| besides the MC has to have issues otherwise there is nothing to develop :coffee:

Thank for the translation Indra.
Thanks for the translation. :)
So no movies on Sanin/Hiruzen/Rikudou/Hashirama's generation .... or other villages.

Good luck to him overcoming the great Naruto uzumaki. Can't wait to see the third kid on their team. Probably will be my fav from their generation.

thanks for translation
Foddara is dead.Naruto and Sasuke are way above him.No need to get butThurt over everyone getting hyped
perfect!
the "age" could be translated as "generation" as well (jidai)
OP stop wanking over brats.
you should reread the manga then
Half of it is not even needed to be translated couse the moments picture us what they might have/did say.

Thanks anyways.

News on the trailer from OrganicDinosaur

Actually, the trailer screen says 戦友= comrade in arms//fellow soldier

Rival is usually written in katakana ライヴァル (when they mention Naruto and Sasuke, for example). There's other kanji that's more distinctly 'rival', but the nuance sorta veers towards 'enemy' for those.

But anyway, 戦友 doesn't really mean 'rival'.

It's like the trailer people wrote one thing but mean something else.....I don't know why?

Sasuke is still 師匠=Master, the way Sakura address Tsunade, for example..

I hope Boruto isn't as annoying as Naruto was in the first series~ there's a reason I didn't care much for Naruto till Shippuden...

Rival is usually written in katakana ライヴァル (when they mention Naruto and Sasuke, for example). There's other kanji that's more distinctly 'rival', but the nuance sorta veers towards 'enemy' for those.

Context adds nuance to the word. This is true, the nuance veering toward enemy is true in that instance where they use ライヴァル in the case of Naruto and Sasuke (not always though). In other instances there are other nuances.

I think the mistake you are making when you try to assert Boruto and Sarada are not rivals (because you don't want them to be enemies? Nothing so far has indicated that they are enemies which I have been asserting since the beginning) is that you behave as though if the word has a nuance in one context, then every usage of the word has that nuance.

The nuance sorta veers towards 'enemy', so therefore the word means 'enemy'. <---- This is false reasoning.

That is not true. The context adds nuance to the word, not the other way around. You'd think that a person studying Japanese would not need to be reminded of that.

The nuance of ライヴァル does not have the nuance of enemy in this context:
You must be registered for see images
Rather, the nuance is one of a declaration of friendship. Naruto and Konohamaru are no longer a couple of guys who goofed off for a day. Konohamaru is establishing an ongoing friendship. It's pretty clear on that page that he worships Naruto. He's not doing it because he suddenly developed hatred, jeez. The context establishes the nuance of the word. I admit that I don't have the raw for that page but I'm pretty sure Konohamaru enunciated the Katakana word "raivaru!" right there in the anime.

*I know this is an OrganicDinosaur quote and not your words, but you're borrowing the words to tell people something so I'm responding as though the words are yours. This is because since you've reposted her words, OrganicDinosaur doesn't have an opportunity to speak about what she said here. You've taken her words, essentially.

Nuances that come from context is not even something that is exclusive to the language. My sister and I tell each other "I hate you with all my heart" "I hate you too." But hopefully you're able to tell that we're communicating fondness.

But anyway, 戦友 doesn't really mean 'rival'.

It's like the trailer people wrote one thing but mean something else.....I don't know why?

Not being able to come up with an explanation doesn't mean that there is no reason. The only thing it indicates is a failure in the ability to imagine what the reason might've been. They very well might have a perfectly good reason, it's just not clear to us right now.

I think you're behaving as though the usage of the word was a mistake or something, and are using the lack of the word in other cases to reinforce this hypothesis. This breaks Sherlock Holmes' first rule: "It is a capital mistake to theorize before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts."

I'm basically saying there is like zero data either way... Other than the fact that the word rival was used. What reason would I have to believe it would mean anything other than rival?
