so from this itself i assumed it was following the myth .. the last guardian is..

the blue dragon Eastern seiryu - element lightning (wood)

so i was sort of expecting a lightning look dragon taijutsu tech

Gai's Nunchaku - has a Dragon Design on it, it's made out of wood, and he's pretty fast with it so in a sense the Blue Dragon Eastern Seiryu is being used don't you think?
