I think only Spiral Zetsu + Obito = high mangintude wood release

I've seen a decent amount of discussion on this topic, but I wanted to bring up my own points on the matter.

Some people are saying that Obito was doing all the jutsu and not Zetsu simply because of the fact that Zetsu COMPLIMENTED Obito on his ability to use Moukuton. Now if you go off the *********** translation, it might seem like that:

You must be registered for see images

But if you go off of NB/ MangaPanda's translation (which I think is more accurate in this case) than you might see it differently:

You must be registered for see images

In this translation, Zetsu states that he is surprised that Obito is using Piercing Branch, an offshoot of Mokuton. This is obviously referring to the technique Obito just used, but if he was commenting on the particular technique, why not comment on it here, 4 pages earlier?

Spiral Zetsu/ Obito used the same tech earlier in the chapter. Not only that, but they were using Mokuton for at least 5 pages before Zetsu said anything. So why did he wait to comment? I think its because of this:

In the bottom left panel you can see Obito using a HAND SIGN to perform the Piercing Branch tech, where he did not have to before.

Therefore, I feel that only the combination of Spiral Zetsu + Obito allowed for this level of Mokuton. I feel that Spiral Zetsu was the only one creating the Mokuton seen in the chapter and the only technique Obito performed was the Piercing Branch technique to an ALREADY EXISTENT wood pike that Spiral Zetsu created.

Keep in mind that we have never once seen Tobi actually use Mokuton in battle. I feel that he, alone, is simply not strong enough to perform the tech. We also know that all current Zetsu clones do have Mokuton, but a very weak form. So I believe only the combination of Spiral Zetsu and Obito allowed for this.

Half of Obito's body is a Zetsu clone... so... theoretically he SHOULD be able to use some wood techniques... But we've never seen him doing any (outside of spiral zetsu's body). Maybe he can't... maybe he doesn't have enough hashi DNA to use it, but being inside spiral zetsu, gave him a lot more.

Or maybe he's just been hiding it all along. But I think its the first reason i gave.

Well he has used it in A previous chapter where he was learning to contol it

I thought it pretty clear that Obito was basically using Mokuton THROUGH the spiral Zetsu. The Zetsu is surprised because Obito has mastered Mokuton, to a certain degree, through pure instinct.

The piercing branch tech. is NOT something he used before. What he's been doing is extending spikes from his own body. For the piercing branch he trows a branch, embeds it in his target, does the hand-seal and makes the branch explode into spikes. This is a lethal tech. to basically anyone but a reeeaaaally good med-nin, say at Kabuto/Sakura's level, and a big hindrance even to them.

Obito cannot perform Mokuton alone, as he's no Senju. The body restoration thing isn't enough for him to use it properly on his own, as far as I can tell.

Yes, the fact that obito can do that is simply becuase of the spiral zetsu. Its like a wood style justu of some kind, since the zetsus are made from the 1st hokages DNA. I don't think obito has that amount of skill in fighting if you know what I meen..... He is still only like 13 and a genin...I have to guess since he grew his hair out a bit, but still same age...... its mostly the spiral zetsu doing the fighting, he is just moving.... how would a low ranked ninja like him, and only 13, pull of a justu like piercing branch! Or the fact that he even KNOWS such a justu! I found it a little odd, but ok kishi......

I agree. It was already shown that Obito's Hashi DNA was "too weak" when he couldn't break out of the cave by himself. He needed the merging with the spiral Zetsu in order to power up. It makes since that this power up also gave him access to mokuton along with his increased strength.
