thats the confusion..as far as we know KG's are inherited through blood...but if mu and onoki are blood related sureli we would have been told, so far all we've been told was mu was onoki's teacher..so maybe there are exceptions to the KG rule

It seems my guess was not tatally wrong and they did involved kakashi's example for given KG. Anyway.. Dust release involves three elements- earth wind and fire. I think to use this tech the shinobi must have a master control on all three elements. just like wood release needs perfection with water and earth both elements.
The KG related with Eyes are more common than those which involve elements. We have seen that elemental affinities may differ within the same clan. Even if one element is common, the other may not be so and the total combo may turn out different. Like Hashirama had Water and earth perfection. Tobirama was master at water and could create water without any water source but probably had not that much control over earth element...so no wood release.
Different people may end up (it would be rare but possible) with same elemental combination and level of mastery- especially if they get a right teacher to learn...( example Mu and Onoki.)

i agree with what ur sayin, but it dusnt explain why mu and onoki have the same KG whitout being blood related (as far as we know)

Of course he can. He already has. Everyone who opposes this is looking at the wrong facts.
1) Gaara has ALREADY used Gold Dust sand. He doesnt even need the power of "Magnetism" b/c his mastery over the sand is so perfect an ex MizuKage wasnt able to notice him mixing Gold dust into his final technique.
Since Gaara can create sand from "nothing" (i.e. Sand pyramids and sand floods) He just needs to carry around the gold dust sand in his pouch and activate it by mixing with regular sand for movement. Fin~
PS: Who even knows if Gaara doesnt already have the power of magnetism? Gaara got the 1 Tail extracted from his body and everyone saw that it WASNT the power of the 1 Tail for him to yield sand. It was from the power granted from his mother! Does anyone know EXACTLY what all this power entails that he inherited from his mother? We just know it gives him power to control sand... maybe gold dust is in the future too...?

Gaara was BORN with these dark rings around his eyes. His fathers eyes would darken too when he was able to use the Gold Dust technique. Also we know nothing of his mother. If Gaara had Jinton then he would have realized it by now.
If he doesn't have it at this point then he's not going to get it.
And just because your parents had a particular KG doesn't mean the kids will get it. By that logic Temari and Kankuro should also have Jinton.
