Yes, definitely worth it. Don't get put off by the earlier episodes, they're nothing compared to the later ones.

just start it
the beginning is a bit lame compared to the later series so dont get fooled by that.
i would say that you should definitely skip the fillers they totaly destroy the pacing and will make the whole thing boring for you.
once youre a bit into it it just keeps on becomming better and better and better
and better

It starts off slow but gets good. Just watch it. If you 700 episodes is too much then read it and when you're caught up you can watch the arcs you liked the most.

Its worth it man, just watch a couple of episodes per day, skip the fillers(optional), then continue with the manga to catch up, you will NOT regret it.

Lol, once you starts watching/reading you won't be able to tell how you reached 700th chapter. It's totally worth a shot. Go for it.

It's not a race... enjoy it for what it is not just to get caught up quickly.

if you start at 400 its good but still like a filler when they meet brook. but you get some op history some good fights and chaacter progression.

just start it already.!!

but i recommend you to start from MARINEFORD WAR.!!

its around 500 something episode.!!
directly start from that episode, otherwise you are going to be so bored.!!

i did the same myself.!!

believe me it works...after then you go back and watch previous episodes and go on continue joining all the dots.!!

works like a charm.!!

Go for it! I love it! It's a great series to get some good laughs. I know some say the beginning is lame but I really enjoy it
When I started I literally jumped around when I saw a flashback or clip from YouTube that caught my attention i watched that episode

Indeed. And you can take as much time as you need! I recently got a couple of friends into OP (during summer) , both read the Manga. One caught up in two weeks and the other took three months.

There's no rush bro!

Start at episode 1, that's why they made it 1 not 400 or 500.

If you can't enjoy 'the slow or boring' first episodes, then just stop because that is what One PIece is all about. It's an adventure manga not an action manga.

Well it does have some very action orientated arcs such as Marineford, Ennies Lobby or Dressrosa.

You need to start from episode one, to truly appreciate the characters and the story.

Not 10,150,300, 500.......1

Not an action manga? Really? More than half of most of the arcs is spent fighting.

IF you are gonna start watching, start from ep.1 and don't listen to people saying start at ep. 500 etc. You need to experience those moments how Luffy got his crewmates.

If it was me watching OP, I'd start with manga to Alabasta arc(Crocodile arc) and then switch to anime.

Yes, it's definitely worth it. I'd recommend that you start with watching the anime and then switching to the manga after the Marineford arc. Take your time and don't visit any OP sections if you don't want to get spoiled

Is it too much to ask to read these days ?

I was talking about the first half of the grand line. One piece was clearly structured in a different way than it is now.

I tried to watch OP, I really, really did. Each and every time I failed form boredom. But then I read it, and everything became great. Reading something long like OP is better imo, you can decide the pacing, the speed that you read certain parts at, you can take breaks wherever you like, whereas with anime episodes you kinda feel obliged to watch till the end, and, it's far easier to fit around your everyday life. Not to mention, once you're done reading you can just go back and watch the parts you like.

it's never too late, OP is amazing. The current arc is the second best arc of 2013 out of any manga this year.
