I....really....don't understand(animation)

Ok......so........I've been hearing about how the animation is crappy, it sucks, etc.
I honestly want to know what makes it crappy. I thought I knew....maybe it was due to the stiff animation at times or the poor drawing, but now I'm lost. I can really understand if you think the animation has gotten choppy as of late and what not, but I really see no other reason to complain. The anime has never been consistently up to par....I remember seeing poor animations back during the Chuunin exams. So I feel like all this complaining was late or better yet, all for naught. Yet I still held my tongue because I felt as if you all knew something I did not(which may very well still be the case). However, today, I can no longer be silent. I saw people calling the animation in today's(Episode 123) crap. So I have to ask....what about the episodes when the Third Hokage fought Orochimaru, when Naruto fought Sasuke at the Valley of the End, when Hidan & Kakuzu fought Naruto, and company??? Those have the exact same animation style. Fluid. They were great, epic, episodes and the animations contributed to this.....in my opinion. I personally like it, but a lot of you are calling this animation crap. I want to know why. What are you looking for??? What do you want???

ok izzy first of all i would never go so far to call naruto animations crappy i mean never...
but when people say that its crappy they really mean to say that animations such as bleach which i think got the best freaking animations ever or one piece are little better then naruto sometimes that's what they mean.....

I understand that...but when they change up the animation styles for these huge fights, it gets really close to the animation quality of the naruto movies, just more fluid. I feel as though this animation style trumps the likes of other current anime like Bleach and One Piece.....but now I hear people calling this crap. So what, exactly, makes it so terrible?

like i said before i love naruto animations and i think its great(80% of people who call it crappy are pissed of because of some exaggerations they disliked or visual effects they saw as wrong or thought as if episode lacked flash in fight)there are no professionals among people who judge naruto as crappy animation so don't pay that much attention to what they say...Example:you said that people wouldn't dare to say crappy about fight with sasuke(that's because most of people judge it the wrong way...But for me 1st is still Bleach..

the animation in 123 was crap ? Wtf ?

it was pretty dawm GOOD !!! it reminds me of the asuma arc the animation in that arc was awesome sooo the animation 123 was GREAT dude wtf are you talking about

but i understand animation in shippuuden have been getting crappyier but 123 was good!

The Sora arc was the best drawn anime I've seen of non-manga based stuff, but sometimes the drawings of main characters in Naruto are VERY hastily done and simply not as good as Kishimoto's accurate redrawings. You can clearly see where the animators have used Kishimoto's drawings as base material and when they've used some replacement for Kishi's drawings.

As narutouchihakiller said professiaonl aniamtors and even most non profesional animtors would not call narutos animations crappy not matter what episode or scene yourr talking about.

I think its just people find something they dont like or several things they dont like and then just call the anaimtion crappy.

Anyone thats done 3D animation knows how hard it is to do. I personally think people complain to much but o well.

Myabe the inbewteen aniators have been doing much work than they normally do so thats why there was some poor design prior to episode 123.

Also another reason why poeople call it crap is becuase there some people that love to complain even when something is near perfect or perfect.

No, this animation sux. You see, Sasuke's face in the last episode has been severely distorted several times, in such a way that instead of looking like an Uchiha with the Sharingan he looks like a rabbit, lol.

And Deidara's face does not keep the proportions at all, though in Sasuke's face that problem is worst.

Also , as for being fluid, many chapters (thought not all) in little Naruto were much more fluid. But the animators should at least be able to draw their faces well.

I'm studdying animation and this last chapter sux in every aspect. It lacks fluidness, and what's worst, both Sasuke's and Deidara's faces proportions change a lot in several takes and scenes.

Animation is not just moving, it also involves not changing a character's face and body.

I'm an animation student and I can tell you that these eps had the best animation in Naruto :

Zabuza Fight/Death of Haku
Sasuke vs Orochimaru
Gaara vs Lee << my fave!!
Orochimaru vs Sarutobi
Sasuke vs Naruto
Sakura vs Sasori
Kakashi vs Kakuzu vs Hidan
Shikamaru vs Hidan
(Basically the whole ep where Shikamaru sets out to avenge Asuma has great animation...)
Kakashi + Obito + Rin vs Random Samurai Guy
Sasuke vs Deidara

These episodes have the best animation. You can always tell in Naruto when it's going to be good because the shading and color style changes and the action becomes much more fluid. Also, the characters mouths move very realistically when they speak. If only all the action scenes were as good as this...

I see your haveing a difficult time understanding, but i actually think naruto is good in animation and like some have said people say things just to complain or be like others.
sometimes you really have to look at the animation and see for yourself, dont just listen to other people... you know?

Some just dont get anime.

I think that their are animator teams that give off different results so sometimes the animation is not consistent and you tend to get some poor character faces drawn sometimes. There seems to be one team where their artwork is far better quality then the others but I'm not sure which one. During the Kakuza/Hidan vs Kakashi/Team 10 I remember 1 episodes having some outstanding artwork.
