*A prediction
Live-action comic book movies and TV shows are all the buzz these days. Yes, there has been live-action movies and TV shows for a while now, but Batman Begins and especially Iron Man were really the movies to set all of this craziness off.
Movies like Blade, Daredevil, Elektra, the Hulk movies, and Superman Returns were all poorly received. The Spider-Man and X-Men movies were well-liked, just not game-changing. The TV show, Smallville, has many fans, but was very flawed and wasn't responsible for all of the people who now are into comics.
With all that being said, I predict that manga/anime will follow and a lot of new fans of the genre will be born. No longer will liking manga/anime be considered geeky or dorky. Just like how it's "cool" to like superheroes and comics now, thanks to the live-action adaptations.
Yeah, there's the POS movie Dragonball Evolution. There's also Attack on Titan and the Rurouni Kenshin movies, but there's gonna be a manga/anime movie the equivalent of Batman Begins or Iron Man that really gets things going.
Japan, of course, will dominate this space. South Korea, China, and the United States will try to get a slice of the pie.
Do you agree?
