This guy insulted him though, he needs to represent that Uchiha pride. It takes a person like Naruto to make him apologize, you gotta earn his respect first.

Doesn't matter if Sasuke was insulted, he knows he deserves worst than that so he wouldn't do anything but apologies and try to make things right. He's not the same as he use to be when he was in Taka. I see him using genjutsu to avoid a fight or hurting anyone but he wouldn't use it how you wrote, that would still inflict harm just like Itachi stabbing Kakashi in genjutsu did damage.

Sasuke was traveling to see if Naruto's way is working and to try and redeem himself (stopping Kaguya doesn't make up the fact that he played a part in her revival, start of the war, and trying to take over the world; plus the many deaths).
