I just noticed it but Madara actually never noticed Gaara

But i just noticed that he never even talked to Gaara once, not even mentioned him once. Do you think he even noticed he was fighting? xd

I'm just wondering why Gaara didn't do more during the fight. While Naruto was still around, he yanked Madara out of susanoo by the foot opening him up to attack. Why didn't he just repeatedly do this when the other kage were around? Would've probably made for a much easier fight.
