I been following on track with this (ridiculous) pairing war, and quite admittedly it's amusing on the end of the "Narusaku" fans considering the fact that Kishimoto and his team have seem to take a liking in debunking them the moment that they try to come up with a logic or reasoning for this series. Let's time travel back to a month back.
"Hinata isn't in The Last! This movie will definitely have Sakura as the central female character in it!"
Hinata was immediately announced for the movie afterwards in the form of the album cover.
"It was just an album cover, that means absolutely nothing concerning the movie in itself!"
Immediately afterwards Hinata was officially confirmed as the heroine of the movie, being one of the center figure, also it was the announcement of the movie having the concept of romance in it, which I myself did the translation for in a thread.
"The movie isn't canon, it's all Studio Pierrot nonsense and filler!"
Kishimoto immediately confirms that the movie is deeply connected to the (at the time) ending of the Naruto manga, and will tie in the remaining plot, along with announcing that it's canon.
"NaruHina won't happen, just wait and see the ending of the manga!"
....no words, quite honestly.
And most recently it was this particular argument, that was debunked once again by Kishimoto recently.
"Kishimoto was definitely and obviously looking to make it Narusaku from the very beginning, until he decided it was more marketable to do NaruHina instead for a quick cash grab!" or something to that effect.
And now it was once again debunked that Kishimoto never considered Naruto ever ending up with Sakura, with his revealed views being that it would be a disrespect to women in general(which I personally view as being true, but that's me).
Translation: "I decided quite a long time ago to go with Hinata.
There was a time when I was on the fence about going with Sakura, but after coming this far and just having Sakura switch over to loving Naruto all of a sudden would make her kind of a terrible woman in terms of development.
Sakura really has always just been wholeheartedly about Sasuke regardless.”
So yeah, for the entirety of the past month now Kishimoto and the crew working on The Last has done much to debunk every single logic that was thrown as of recently towards the direction of who Naruto would end up with, which is starting to grow a tad hilarious in my personal eyes.
