I got a virus...

So my laptop got a virus the other day. Basically what happend was I was looking at older Naruto manga chapters on NB and all of a sudden WAM! I had that stupid "Win 7" virus all up in my face. I did everything I knew how before taking it to the computer business 15 minutes from my home. For those of you who are wondering yes I went into safe mode and did all kinds of tests and tried getting my antivirus to kick in but the virus infected most of my documents, files, etc.

The computer guy has to wipe my computer clean- which sucks because I'll end up losing my Microsoft Office programs. Anyways, everyone be careful I'm not saying its NB's fault but just be carful otherwise for 100 bucks you'll be getting your computer wiped. :|

That happened to my ma's Mac. She lost all her pics of me and my brother when we were little. She had to like try to recover the pictures but not sure if she still got all of them. But thanks for the notice.

Well at first my antivirus took care of it but I did some research and whoever made it has made it "stronger" So I still suggust you becareful.

yeah last time a guy made a thread wid a link which had virus attached to it and many members got fooled by clicking on it i was lucky i read the posts

That happened to me too,i lost everything,games()word,and alot of other things and there is a easy way to avoid it,just dont know how because my antivirus wasn't updated so the guy didnt tell me.

I did everything I could, I know some things about computers but I'm not a probie (sp?) and since it started making it impossible for me to get on the internet even in safe mode, I decided to take it to a pro before I made it worse.

I'm sorry about your troubles. That's why I have a back up. I have network storage to back up my computer when stuff like this happens. If a system restore doesn't work, the back up image of my drive that I've created will do the trick.

u know what? wiping a computer clean is a 10 minutes job and u don`t really need to loose everything unless u have only one partition on your hard disk..

I really hope u did not waste 100 bucks for this.

I kinda have no choice. I can't fix it so unless one of you guys wants to come to my house and fix for me I'm stuck paying 100 bucks for a ten min job... I'm pretty sure my desktop has the same virus so you can come and clean it for me

Hmm...thing like that happened only once to me....i had to crush my Windows and then do and install everything from the very beginning...xd

Try an anitvirus though in some case the virus is so worse that it has attacked your user control panel and allowed the computer not to be able to install the anti virus so then do system restore if these does not work you are pretty much f//c..ked then your last resort is formatting and trust me you don't want that sha good luck and happy holidays

It's pretty simple. All you have to do is download

You must be registered for see links

Write it to a CD/DVDrom or Flashdrive (whichever you prefer). Restart your comp and go into bios. Select boot from CD/DVD or USB. Save and restart and the software does the rest. The you just re-install you OS.

Yea next time I'll try something like this but hopefully I won't get this virus again. However I am almost positive I got it from NB... Which makes me a little hesitant to return on my laptop.. Now I'm using my iPod which you can imagine is annoying... Can like a mod or someone check the old manga chapters etc and maybe get rid rid of any threats that may or may not be there? Also what kind of Anti virus to you guys use?
