ok so when a baby is in the womb , it's inside of a liquid and as long as its connected to the umbilical cord it doesn't need lungs to live. So let's say the doctors never cut the cord and let the baby grow up to an adult, would the guy be able to chill underwater for as long as he wanted as long as he was connected to the cord? Would he even grown to be a man with the food from the cord?

It is somewhat doubtful. The exact process of gestation in humans is unknown largely due to restrictions on research and moral dilemmas.

Generally speaking, however, hormonal shifts in the baby are what trigger the birthing process in women and also what induces changes in the child - to include a restriction of fluid exchange through the umbilical cord.

One of the major aspects of artificial gestation is that of the hormonal feedback between the mother and child. It is a process that is, to my understanding, not well understood.

For example, hormonal spikes during a specific portion of pregnancy have been linked to higher incidence of having a child that is homosexual.

There is a lot more going on, there, than it just being a supply of food.

Which is why I find it doubtful that one could artificially gestate an individual to adulthood. At least, not without some serious tinkering.

That's assuming he can stay inside the womb a grown man and doesn't get exposed to air, that's why babies usually cry when they come out because their lungs are filled with this liquid, or that's what someone told me. Btw I doubt there are any scientists who would spend their time here.

Not all babies cry and there's no concrete information as to why many babies do cry.

Most believe it's due to a number of different, sudden changes (temperature, light, first time lungs filled with air etc.).
