No, it's not genetic. It's an external force. For example: Criminals or may I say sociopath, have scientifically proven to have mental disorder. And you often hear that they self-proclaim to have violent childhood. As you said, it's an environmental influence, thus debunking your fallacious claim of having to do with genetics.

Now, back to what I originally said: those who committed suicide had external forces to cause this act - it may have been bullying and what ever it is. Therefore, those people were too mentally weak to begin with.

Research
Risk factors for mental illness include genetic inheritance, such as parents having depression.[33]

In depression, parenting risk factors include parental unequal treatment,[34] and there is association with high cannabis use.[35]

In schizophrenia and psychosis, risk factors include migration and discrimination, childhood trauma, bereavement or separation in families, and abuse of drugs,[36] including cannabis.[35]

In anxiety risk factors may include family history (e.g. of anxiety), temperament and attitudes (e.g. pessimism),[37] and parenting factors including parental rejection, lack of parental warmth, high hostility, harsh discipline, high maternal negative affect, anxious childrearing, modelling of dysfunctional and drug-abusing behaviour, and child abuse (emotional, physical and sexual).[38]

Correlations of mental disorders with drug use include cannabis,[39] alcohol[40] and caffeine.[41]

In February 2013 a study found common genetic links between five major psychiatric disorders: autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and schizophrenia.[42]

Abnormal functioning of neurotransmitter systems has been implicated[citation needed] in several mental disorders, including serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine and glutamate systems. Differences have also been found in the size or activity of certain brain regions in some cases. Psychological mechanisms have also been implicated, such as cognitive (e.g. reasoning) biases, emotional influences, personality dynamics, temperament and coping style.

Studies have indicated[citation needed] that variation in genes can play an important role in the development of mental disorders, although the reliable identification of connections between specific genes and specific categories of disorder has proven more difficult. Environmental events surrounding pregnancy and birth have also been implicated. Traumatic brain injury may increase the risk of developing certain mental disorders. There have been some tentative inconsistent links found to certain viral infections,to substance misuse, and to general physical health.

Social influences have been found to be important[citation needed], including abuse, neglect, bullying, social stress, traumatic events and other negative or overwhelming life experiences. The specific risks and pathways to particular disorders are less clear, however. Aspects of the wider community have also been implicated,[citation needed] including employment problems, socioeconomic inequality, lack of social cohesion, problems linked to migration, and features of particular societies and cultures.

Being mentally weak has nothing to do about it. Also what do you exactly mean by mentally weak.

Agreed, why would one not want to live in a world where you have everything you wanted?

The mental disorder is first developed, then passed down genetically. Even your "science facts" prove my point. And also, this is for those who committed suicide, who we don't know whether they genetically inherited or developed it.

yes of course

it has to be developed but some people can inherit it.
you wre saying people only develop them and genetical inheritation doesnt happen

Edit: MadaraRules go back to power and feats, you are better there

Do you think that everyone with cancer should kill themselves? Or that the impoverished should give up on life? I don't think you have ever known many people with life-threatening diseases.

When did I ever mention killing yourself?

And by the way, I myself have an incurable illness, though it may not be life threatning, it affects pretty much all areas of my life whether it be my abilities, self confidence, my love life or just my relationships so it does make a big difference to it.

people lie to themselves, thinking that life isn't good without pain...

they say happiness only has meaning if you feel sadness...

people like that excuse atrocities, they say your not strong if you don't accept reality...

well I accept reality, and that's WHY I want to live in a dream world...

give into your hearts desire: accept infinite tsukuyomi...

IT chooses pleasure over any sort of progress in the human race. You can't learn anything, you can't have new experiences. You can't meet new people. You can't get better and you can't get worse. You'll simply be frozen in time. I think boredome would eventually set in even if the Zetsu transformation doesn't.

This statement makes me think of the philosopher Robert Nozick with the "Experience Machine", I've had some classes during philosofy back when I was in highschool, it was really worth reading and thinking about it!

Find others like you, other people with debilitating diseases/conditions. You'll learn a lot. As I said 5 or 6 pages ago, nothing anyone says here will change your perspective. It takes introspection, empathy, and open-mindedness.

In life there will be hardships ,losses ,victories ,happiness ,and sadness. Yet most people often look at the bad times it is true most of the time life will appear to be bad, but if there were no problems and life was perfect none of us would mature it is problems/hardships that help us evolve the more we endure and overcome the greater we grow

You wouldn't saying that if you lived in Africa.

You do realize that the number of those people are extremely small, right?

Why do you just assume that the population of an entire continent has given up on life?

I'm pretty sure most people would rather live in IT than that shit hole. Wars, mass rape, slavery, etc. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of suicides there.

You are pessimistic. Find some of those people and spend some time with them. Their resilience will surprise you.

Um, i like my life. it hasnt been perfect. theres been more downs than up but u gotta think about the other 7 billion people here too. Sure theres alot of us who would throw away everything so that a limited imperfection could become a eternal perfection, however, there are alot of more fortunate people who happened to luck out and get close or close enough to it that they shudder at just the thought. like say bill gates. im sure hed try to stop u.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but, not everyone likes their lives, some people, many people, hell, you could say most people (counting the third world countries, combined with the poor and misfortunate of the first world) suffer and continue suffering until their dying breath, why not alleviate that pain?

Haha, we only need to mature because of the hardships this cruel reality throws at us and continues to throw at us anyway, if there were no hardships, we wouldn't need to mature for them, and saying that hardships are preferable, is borderline masochistic. Suffering doesn't make you human.

a EXACTLY, some people, like us, accept reality for what it is, which is why we'd RATHER live in a dreamworld.

you're completely wrong. because a person that's suicidal, if that's what they want, that's what they'll get in I.T. as well... just like terrorists or dictators or those war lords that turn children into killers will do the same thing in I.T.... actually even in a worse and more magnified scale, if they had 300 child soldiers, in I.T. they'll have a 1,000,000 of them...
what makes you think that everyone is lovey dovey just because they're in I.T.?
people that think so are completely blind and are not getting the real reason why we chose to actually be in this life, through all the different experiences, born into or lived through life.
Take this from someone who's considered suicide in the past, no body would wish for that sort of misery upon themselves, nobody, not even an insane person.

Holy shit a pentapost!!

Anyway, I just read through this thread again and, aside from my shameless promotion moments (which I still stand by because NGE is relevant to all this), I think I pretty much soloed lol.
