You see, that is my main problem with these site. They dont know where to draw the line. As far is Im concern this is a manga anime forum, even though we sometimes do not post anything about it, there needs to be clear rules regarding taboo topics. And this is definitely one of them, the reason that Im saying that is because it have been proven over and over and over that sooner or later this will turn into a blood bath and people will get punished because this thread was not closed by I moderator, Ill personally blame the mods if that happens, because they are supposed to protect members from certain aspects instead of punishing them when that happens. This is a potential time bom, that could have been prevented.

If you are in denial and dont believe what I said just go into the history and look up previous threads regarding this. I have also asked Nexus to add an additional rule that prevents these types of discussions, Im unfortunately not aware of any of these changes, neither have I been informed in a decent manner that it have been implemented.

I stand very firmly against this, and even though you would like to discuss these topics this isnt the place. If you want to inquire about religions there is countless forums that you can switch to in order to get your daily fix of debating. If you are interested to know about your friends/online friends religion, ask them their email or MSN account and go debate them there. If you are interested to see statistics, google is your friend. But leave these type of topics out from a family form. Im sorry to say but I will not present this forum to my children, as this is clearly not topics that I feel comfortable or productive to them at this time and stage.

For example: Let's say someone just posted a paragraph that insults an ethnic group. Another person comes along and reads that paragraph and is offended. What do they do? Reply back with obscenities? Or report the person?

And you cannot blame the mods for these things, it's not like we ignore reports when we get them. And then again none of us are on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You fail to see that there is no rule that explicitly prevent an Individual from insulting anthers believe system or "lack of believe" system (For the Atheists). SO you cannot punish or report those individuals that do so, because they didnt break any rules. (Ironic aint it)

I appreciate your response, however I have heard that before. And unfortunately that did not result in a change to this problem. Again I refer to the fact that this is a family forum, if it is not why do the people in charge proclaim it, aswell discussions regarding religions ect is not to be placed on the same forum. If you fail to see why please dont answer back, because we can all create a thread suggesting different forms on how to commit suicide or murder or lets talk about pornography?, do you see or understand were Im going with this. You will spare yourself and others the including me a lot of trouble to rather prohibit this type of discussions from the forum, than waiting untill a problem arises and then trying to punish those individuals because you(Referring to Admins/Mods) failed to implement these type of rules.

Prevention is better than cure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Yes I will hold the Mods accountable, as I have already indicated to you the implications of allowing these type of discussions, and you(Again referring to the Admins/Mods) did nothing to prevent any of these potential problems. Just an example, there are religions that prohibit the discussion of different forms of religions ect and by the mere fact that people here do that my be found offensive to their specific religion, are they then allowed to report those people? No, because they didnt insult you, yet its still offensive, how then do you cater for those people? Or are you going to tell them not engage in those discussions(Whats the use of being on a forum if you cant discuses the things on it)? or not to read those threads?

Really, is it so difficult to rather implement a rule and prevent all these potential problems than to wait for the bomb to burst and then point fingers?

I would just like to say Lawliet, Im not pointing fingers at you, Im merely trying to indicate to you the severity of this because Im talking from a religious parents point of view and not that of a member.

My main argument is the word "taboo". I don't see why a matter that falls under NB's specific rules should be called taboo.
I mean that if someone doesn't want to talk about their religion they are not obliged to do so. No one forces anyone to post in any section in here.
And if we start seeing things as taboos starting with the religion, soon other things will follow, like politics, personal beliefs and etc And you know how this can be called. What I mean with this, is that we are not here to judge nor to influence other people to our beliefs, we are here to discuss.
And we stand not only as a forum, but also as a community. NB is a community of people as much as it is a Naruto site and forum.
And I wouldn't like this to change.

Of course I understand your point, and like Nexus said everything that insults you or other, we are here to take care of it even if we don't agree with you. But this is also a community and i don't want people not being able to talk about the things they want just because some others might consider these things "taboos". I strongly object to even the word.

Finally, just cause you gave me a chance to speak it out now, all of you should understand the difference between admins and mods. Mods are here to enforce the rules, not create them; that's what admins do. Also mods are here and they follow orders and rules, which you don't see or read here.
My point with this is, that its not the mods who will discuss your suggestion and either implement it or not, but the admins. Mods will follow what the admins say. So really, i will not be held responsible for rules i didnt make.

Its exactly this type of friction that can cause a religious discussion to become more than just a discussion. Just like you found the word taboo "offensive" a lot of other people find these type of discussions on a family forum "offensive" and just like your trying to tell me I must not use the word, because thats what it comes down to, Im telling you to implement a policy to protect other members that might find these type of discussions offensive.

If i thought i am entitled to everything, i wouldn't have responded to you and i wouldn't be continuing this discussion trying to find a solution respecting both your opinions and other people's opinions here and to make it easy for everyone to be a part in this community.
So now, that we clarified this let's continue.
My main argument is that there is no general rule about what it is a taboo or not. That's what i meant, sorry if i didn't express it in the right way.
For you -example- religion topics are taboo, for me -example- politics are taboo, for Lawliet -example- *** is a taboo. You see my point?
What for you is a taboo, for me is a nice topic to discuss and the opposite of course. If we don't allow these discussions, wouldn't it be restricting to people who truly want to discuss these matters?
Why only religion should be called a taboo and not also the other topics i mentioned?
As you see, i don't really tell what to believe or what to discuss in here, and the only thing i am saying is that if someone wishes to talk in a polite and civilized and respectful manner about a topic they should be allowed to. And if you find a certain topic disrespectful or offensive, you report it and we will see what we can do about it, to protect both you and the others who have a right to their freedom of speech.
Again, I must tell you that it is not my decision; The Admins will decide and i will follow their orders.
