I wanted to renounce my faith and make my own according to what i thought was right... but i found one that matches almost perfectly minus a few aspects but comes closer then any other. Buddistsm or however its pronounced.

There is no "one is truth, the others are lies". Every religion sees the truth differently, just as every person sees the truth differently. It's all a matter of faith ultimately.

No, he's saying like which religion is the right one or guessed closest. In that sense, there is one truth. Everyone believes that their's is true but that doesn't make all religions true. One religion must be correct. Having faith in something in no way means that you know what the truth is. It means that you THINK you know what the truth is.

Of course the truth hasn't been discovered yet, and it probably never will be on earth.

Christianity and Catholism, we believe that we go to heaven/hell after death so earth will never know since we're on a new place. We also believe that god will return and take the last living people on earth to heaven or hell on doomsday or something (I forgot the name of it).

Another religion believes that you reincarnate with no or only slight memories of your past (deja vu) but no full memories. We'll never know then either.

There are countless religons but most, if not all end up with us never knowing the truth as long as we're on earth.

but is it ? Whats the point if you believe in something and when you die you find out its false ? There is none. Living a life based on what you perceive is true and actuality is false, in my mind is a waste. There is truth, we cant be sure what it is. Just like life we take a gamble, decide whats truth for us. So what's the point of living without believing in anything? Death is the greatest mystery, whether you believe nothing will happen when you die or everything will happen. There's no getting around it, some day, I guarentee everyone in the world will at least once ask themselves: "I know I believe in this, but what's really going to happen when I die?" Why even live if you're not going to wonder, I don't understand how anyone could be content without thought such as what happens after you die. Whether you find a point in thinking about what will happen or not, I can almost guarantee that it will cross your mind sooner or later, it's probably the only thing that we'll never discover for sure. Making it the greatest mystery.

theres only 1 religion that i though of as interesting and not only interesting but also promises eternal life and salvation it is catholics because who or what fool can say that after 3 days I will resuurect from the dead right?but Jesus promise that and fufilled it and also I believe that He is the messiah the Son of God.

I don't think we should close this thread until it happens. If you read everything in here, you could clearly see that there's nothing to be offended by. In my posts, I only used religion as an example, and I only actually named a single religion. And I didn't single out any religion to make it look dumb or anything. And everyone who did single out a religion simply was saying that that's the religion they believe in. There's a lot of people not willing to openly discuss religion, but notice that those people didn't post here. And even if they do, they have ABSOLUTELY nothing to be offended by.

Whats so sad about our world today, is political correctness. People are so afraid to say what they feel because they dont want to offend someone. Words dont kill, and if you are so secure about your own beliefs you should be able to listen to someone else's opinion without feeling threatened.

No dude, attempting to single out a religion and prove it incorrect is completely wrong on a site like NB, stuff like that is to be saved for private discussion. We can talk religion, but picking one out and proving it wrong? Can you really tell me that that won't cause any trouble at all? So far we haven't attempted to prove any one religion wrong and i don't plan to, but if we do, it'll almost definately cause uncivilized arguements. Proving religion wrong is COMPLETELY for private matter, and even then it could get ugly.

Lol, that really made no sense. About half of the forums here aren't anime involved. :| And most of everything here is either RP or spam. Anime is probably one of the least things we talk about here.
