I feel sorry for Sakura & Tsunade

I agree with Shaz. We are not bashing Sakura. This is how kishi created his main heroine. I mean Fairy Tail Lucy is more useful then Sakura ever was in Naruto and it is not because of big breast but there characters were developed by there manga writers. Kishi su***d badly in developing sakura's character. This is why these response never changes.

Right.

I've seen people expressing how much they love fanon Sakura (non canon) and despise canon Sakura because she had hope. But all female characters had hope.

Look how easy it was to make Sarada. Look how easy it was to make Himawari, a non shy girl who actually gets angry when someone pisses them off (who isn't a doormat).

I don't understand how he failed to make interesting female characters, when he made someone like Tsunade.

I never thought I have to write this again.
Part 1 Zabuza arc: Haku was killing Sasuke and naruto, kakashi was having hard time against Zabuza but what was Sakura doing? She was doing nothing.
Chunin exam: naruto has to come and save Sakura from Gaara
Part2 Gaara arc: chiyo gave her life to Gaara so that peace can take place between sand and konoha.it was due to chiyo sasori died.
Pain arc: Sakura was only crying and shouting where are u Naruto? Plus when pain caught naruto she didnot have the guts to protect his team mate. What was she thinking there?
Danzo arc she told naruto she loves him which was a lie. She tried to kill Sasuke but failed there also.
War arc ino as a medic was fighting against Edos and white zetsu army but Sakura was behind the battlefield saving fodders. Even asspulls didnot helped much. Obito gave him one task to destroy Madara Rinnegan with kunai. She failed there also.
Gaiden series home loan soloed her.
This is how sakura's character was developed by kishi. And then u say she is more than useful in which arc I donot know.
And I was not comparing Naruto with FT. I was only giving Lucy's example that she also started as fodder and now she is one of the strongest female Mage in FTverse with no asspulls.

They are the only two shinobi in the entire NV with their select skillet.

They can heal thousands of people at once with trying to break a sweat.

Naruto had the Jesus hand and gave Kakashi a new eye. Hard work on Medical jutsu for nothing when a knucklehead pulls that out on the fly. Tragic!

Still didn't surpass Tsunade for me.
I mean character wise. Tsunade was so well developed that she actually put a good challenge for the best developed female character in Naruto.

And she wasn't even the MC.
Sakura didn't progress that much as her character
Always was connected to Sasuke somehow..even in battle!

And then we have Hinata. Who actually was developed in her own movie. She wanted to save her sister so she chose her sister over Naruto. Remarkable!

I'm not trying to down-play anything but saying that I'm disappointed in her character. I don't even care if she surpassed Tsunade in combat, she will Always will be a watered down version of her because of the lack of character she displayed.

It does get annoying that most of her best moments of definable characterization consisted of her crying over a guy, Kishi should've given her a back story and an idependent goal that wasn't Sasuke related. I would also llike to reiterate that everyone is entitled their open and entitled to express it but what I respect most about your opinion spefically is that it's reasonable. Most of these Kats drown their opinion's out with Sakura's fodder. Good job!

We don't even know if Sakura was considered best medic in the last because of Tsunade retiring from the shinobi life or not.

Well Kishi put it clearly in the Last's Promotional Material (poster spefically), he said she was the strongest medic in the world who had herculean strength but feats would've been nice.

As I said, I don't doubt her combat abilities. I just don't like the fact that she was left without a proper development. We can say that this is Kishi's fault but in the end this is all Sakura's character.

We had the same issue with
Hinata, Mei, Konan and many more who literally had no development outside of male's influence.

That's why I was enjoying Tsunade's character. She actually broke that connection to her lover because it was necessary to protect the village.

Something that Sakura tried as well but horribly failed-> though she had to kill her lover in order to break that connection but she couldn't even tho Sasuke admitted that he wants to destroy they village.

In my view kishi should have gotten rid of the crush she had on sasuke since part 1. This would give her character some more room to develop not every character has to get hitched and have kids but even if kishi wanted that he could have made her fall for sasuke at the end maybe after 699.

She later became a shinobi, among a future Hokage, who then later earned her Sannin title from fighting Hanzo in the War. She later lost her brother, and her lover (Dan) before her eyes, which prompted her to leave the life of a shinobi, and begin to waste her years away in sorrow. She used gambling, and other methods to lose herself in so that she can spend the rest of her days in something she enjoyed.

For most part, she was an interesting female character, one who earned my respect especially in Part 1. She was by far my favorite female character, and her interactions with everyone, especially Naruto, sold me.

Completely agree.
I kind of thought that she was over-shadowed in part 2 but she displayed so much in shippuden as well.

She was going up against the elders and spoke for Naruto and protected him.
She had her awesome speech against Madara as well.

It wasn't much but still more Progression than Sakura did in Part 1 and 2 combined. XD

Women in shonnen .. what's new? They are there to be in supportive roles. If one of them accidentally does something awesome in an arc be assured she is going to need major saving soon to restore the balance or make up for taking space in front by getting huge breasts implants with weird bra and thong costume. At least that's an average scenario.

PS: I should have said magic bras since god knows half the time seeing the designs, I keep wondering how it's still in place. They beat any pin up dressing even..

Why wouldn't they be in supportive roles? This is a battle manga...women IRL are inferior when it comes to fighting so why would women be the strongest in fiction? Not to mention Kaguya is a women. Women in shonen belong in their rightful place, support for the male characters.

Er..

Love life has nothing to do with how you view the character, it's how that love is represented, and how it's taken a toll on their characterization. Tsuande loving Dan was nothing wrong for her, there wasn't negatives in the situation. It was simple romance.

If I was introduced to Sakura's character as an Adult in Part 1 and we were given backstory on everything that happened in the series before she was introduced as an adult (with Team 7), I would feel no differently than what I feel now. Romance is a part of her story, with Tsunade, it's similar to a backdrop.

The reason why Tsunade is a strong female character is because she is realistic for the most part.
