The OP anime isn't the best experience compared to the manga because of how slow it is but at the start it's paced pretty well. OP is more of an adventure series than a battle series, I hope you understand that. I don't want you getting caught up to the series and then complaining over the lack of action or something stupid like that.
If you're only an anime type of guy then HxH will be the better choice but if it's judged by the manga/overall series One Piece is better IMO. Your choice really.

he story focuses on a young boy named Gon Freecss, who discovers that his father, who he was told was dead, is actually alive and a world-renowned Hunter, a licensed profession for those who specialize in fantastic pursuits such as locating rare or unidentified animal species, treasure hunting, surveying unexplored enclaves, or hunting down lawless individuals. Despite being abandoned by him, Gon departs upon a journey to follow in his footsteps, pass the rigorous Hunter Examination, and eventually find his father. Along the way, Gon meets various other Hunters and also encounters the paranormal.
Might sound simple, but believe me, this anime is extremely good, it's my favorite anime.

Dude, it's better if you go in with little to no spoilers. I don't see why you'd want to spoil yourself over feats. I can tell you right now that the HxH verse isn't stronger than the Naruto/FT/DBZ verse but the fights are entertaining and really consistent with the nen system it has.

Not really, it's just that the series goes on hiatus a lot and people tend to forget it exists. Don't worry though the anime ended appropriately so you'll feel satisfied. The manga is still ongoing and it's only 9 chapters ahead of the anime.
Trust me, you'll be thanking me that you never tried to spoil yourself once you're caught up with HxH.

You can't go wrong with HxH, Yu Yu Hakusho, or One Piece. All are really good.
But here are a couple of feats from OP from the main character.
Luffy's power after the time skip.
Here is a fight after Luffy learned one of his stronger moves. This is a summed of fight from a special. The real fight is a much longer.
