Look, Gaara already said what would happen if Ay continued with his attacks. He didn't say Sasuke would or even get seriously injured, he just said that he the Raikage will suffer more injury.

Raikage isn't going to break the ribcage susanoo if he was unable to do it with the last two big hits he did. And for sure not gonna happen if a small portion of Gaara's sand was able to completely stop Ay's guillotine drop in its tracks. If that small sand is stopping Ay then that ribcage susanoo is not breaking completely, it'll just suffer another crack.
Whether you hate to admit it or not, Ay was being rash and let his emotions get the best of him leading to his downfall if not Gaara had been there.
Even Ay's body guard said that Sasuke's ribcage not only survived 2 heavy attacks but his Enton pierced right through Ay's raiton armor.

Call it how it is you know Ay would've been killed right there. Liger bomb and Lateral bolt of pain was unable to break the Ribcage Susanoo, so why would guillotine drop? It simply won't. Raikage was just banking on Sasuke to lose more chakra. And then when all the kages and body guards launched their strongest long range attack, his susanoo tanked it with a arm.
That's why they all retreated. Sasuke out powered all of them and he wanted to save as much chakra as he can to kill Danzo. Don't forget that Karin said that Sasuke didn't full recover since the Hachibi fight either yet he still took out 2 kages at once.
