It has been foreshadowed a lot that Naruto would be the one that will change Sasuke , but in the end , Hashirama was the one who changed his mind .

What's was Kishi's purpose to give many panels of Itachi thinking of Naruto to change Sasuke ? Or what about Sakura's promise ? With this , I'm pretty sure that Sasuke still is not completely "good" . I hope he does something intersting .

Hashirama didn't do anything at all , the one who did it , was Itachi ... and that's what the big bro's has to do... However ... I believe that sasuke didn't turned good , he only decided to help the village only bc he wants to destroy konoha AND Naruto (i believe so about the part of Naruto) Sasuke is still a bad guy , he is a Danzo , remember that , he is no near of a good guy. So as for your question , Naruto will play a big role in Sasuke change of heart and ofc in Sasuke character development.

Now , for all of you who don't believe me , plz go read the chapter 589 (i believe so). And read what Sasuke says when he is looking to itachi.

ah, Because Sasuke still needs to be saved. Well written characters aren't changed in one scene. Sasuke's redemption is told in several stages. Itachi makes him question his motives. Hashirama makes him change his goals. Naruto will convince him to give up his hate and accept he can't be Hokage.

Hashirama didn't really change Sasuke. Sasuke had two options: Destroy Konoha or help Konoha. However, he didn't want to half-ass the decision like he's done in the past sometimes, so he wanted the full info. Hashirama gave him the answer and Sasuke chose to protect Konoha on his own.

Also, just because Naruto is the main character, that doesn't mean it's guaranteed he'll do what he wants to do. There's no guarantee that he'll change Sasuke, that's just something he wants to do.
