Dude, even Gears of War, the most unique and greatest 3rd person shooter has gone in this direction with GOW Judgement. It has been completely 'CODified'.This attitude is exactly the problem with modern gaming. Fighting games and adventure games are just 'for little kiddies and teens' so for some reason that means that quality isn't a necessity- KIDS ARE DUMB SO WE WILL GIVE THEM EASY STUFF TO MAKE MONEY, seems to be the exact thought process.
Problem is, it's mostly kids who play games like Fifa and COD because they think it makes them cool, those games KNOW their audience and know they will sell by the billion if they just recycle year after year after year with no regard to improving the quality or game feel. This has happened with Fifa, Call of Duty and most genres in general. There are one-off titles every now and then but the general game quality is slowly dropping in return to simple little 'kiddy stuff' like better graphics, DLC and how many shades of brown and grey and big soldiers with huge muscles the games can create.
If people just pass it off as some 'kids' game it's not meant to be deep or have effort put into it we will keep receiving effortless game after game after game. This is a huge problem and good fighters like this NEED criticism like this to not fall into this trap (which i'm convinced Cyber Connect are doing actually- they're showing all the signs of greedy business corp.
I personally LOVED the previous games and think they're some of the best games I have ever played but Storm 3 just seems like a major step down and it could potentially be the turning point for the franchise in the wrong direction.
All games will fall into this trap. Like, the original xbox and PS2, you would get new and creative titles all the TIME. There were no stereotypes or repetitive franchises. You could play PS2 your whole life and then walk into a shop and see an amazing game that you've never even heard of before. Every game was different and most of them were gems.Dude, even Gears of War, the most unique and greatest 3rd person shooter has gone in this direction with GOW Judgement. Gears was a game where noobs and newbies didn't stand a chance! They actually had to spend a lot of time(months!) and learn the game and it's mechanics to play on an average level at best. I was one of the best Gears players out there, been playing that game since 2007! Gears of War 3 should have been the last game as it was the best with practically no flaws, but nope, the developers just had to try and beat COD at it's own game and they completely destroyed what was once one of the greatest online shooters of all time.
I have stopped gaming, but I do enjoy a video or two every once in a while because I am a true gamer at heart.
You should check out 'The Last of Us'. It's looks promising. All games will fall into this trap. Like, the original xbox and PS2, you would get new and creative titles all the TIME. You just don't GET THAT WITH XBOX360 & PS3! Everything is just rehashed and there are literally like 6 different types of game. That is all. Take your pick from the 6 types because that's all you're getting. God forbid what's going to happen with the Xbox720 & PS4... It's only going to get worse.
Yeah i'm not too much of a gamer either really, I see no appeal in most PS3 games but keep it for Storm Generations and INFamous mostly... I just play my PS2 to be honest :\ It's much cheaper too. £2 for a great, well-made game with effort put into it rather than £60 for an unoriginal, competitive market-created rushed mess of a PS3 game, (that just turns out to be like the last 3 PS3 games you played anyway.)
I did not. Though to be honest DMC has always been a little dumb. I like the new design though. You should check out 'The Last of Us'. It's looks promising.
BTW......Did you see what they did to Devil may cry? completely butchered it! A 10 year old could master that game and perform combos now.
dmc 1, 3 and 4 are the greatest games of their time in their genre. they are the hardest games to master and provide a great challenge, the best part about them though, would be their story modes. Amazing, all of them!I did not. Though to be honest DMC has always been a little dumb. I like the new design though.
then why buy the game if you dont like the way they do thingsAll shooters are the same? Tell me..........how would you revolutionize the shooting genre? By putting the gun in their feet instead of their hands? How much can shooting a damn gun change?
Naruto games can be so much better than the button mashing garbage that it's been for the last 7 years or so........
They could make the player perform handsigns for jutsus with command keys. The actual effects of each characters unique jutsu could be implemented into the game and it could do what it really does instead of just doing damage. It would be so much more exciting if the players could actually one hit KO someone in the very beginning! There are literally thousands of things that could be done with it to make it more realistic and more like the story.
But no, it's the same old punch out trash with super combos at the end...........pathetic
