I cant take fairy tail seriously

This manga is a joke, im not saying it isnt good, just that its a joke.

The whole manga/anime seems to be centered around power through friendship. they can overcome any odds with friends but that take this way to literally! Throughout the manga natsu has bee getting curvestomped by just about every enemy and then he pulls the "im fighting for my friends" card and gets immunity to damage, +100 damage and bullshit. Im not going to go find scans because anyone who has been paying attention will know what im talking about. On some occasions his attacks do 0 damage and then after the "were fairy tail" speech all of a sudden he gains the power to damage the foe who was literally tanking every hit before this speech.

This happens with nearly every fight. some fairy tail member (or good guy) gets the shit beat out of them and they get the plot armor upgrade and all of a sudden everything turns around.

****ing erza! She has never been stated to have any extraordinary sensing abilities yet she is fighting one of tartarus' strongest demons without her 5 senses and 0 tolerance to pain. I mean really? How does this even work? I know how, she said "my friends are my power" to which Kyouka responds "how is this possible"? A question i would like to know myself.

Is there some power scaling that im missing? Did I miss something that would explain all of this :|. im not saying fairy tail is a bad manga . . .just that .. .the fights are bs U_U. The plot armor is worse then naruto i swear

your reading a shounen manga what do u expect. your problem with the manga isnt what you wrote in this thread, its that you are to insecure and dont know what to do when you start getting all those gay feels bahaha

lol in the episodes im watching shit like that always happen so I totally feel u. Guess thats how fairy tail is, plot armor and ass pull powers, i still like the anime and find it funny, so im gonna keep watching.

Yeah FT takes plot armor and sword(lel) to new levels. I know most manga/anime have the good guys with a uphill battle, but FT takes it too far a lot of the time. From getting stomped and nearly cremated by the enemy they pull some miraculous win off (insert power of friendship boost), and some odd way the previous enemy loses or can't handle them....

But yeah this is why I say: don't take FT too seriously, it's a "fun" manga. Just set back and watch it/read it.

it is not for everyone but they do say in it that strong emotions is the power of their magic which is why they get stronger with the emotions for their friends. To some people this series is amazing ^_^ ....(it is my 2nd favourite anime)
