Looks: Black Star has bright blue spiky hair, with the spikes sticking in out in the manner of a star-shape. He is rather short, but has a well-muscled build due to constant training. His eyes are green and when under the effects of madness, his eyes adopt star shaped pupils, which is seemingly a distinct trait of those belonging to the Clan of the Star. His main outfit is a sleeveless black shirt with a funnel-like collar, with white trousers that are black from the knee down and just a little short of being full length jeans. On the front of his collar, two short strips of grey material adorned with rivets stretch down fro, the top of the collar to the breast of his shirt. Black Star has similar strips wrapped around his neck in the form of a scarf, and around his waist in the form of a belt. Rivets can also be seen on his pockets and on the ends of his trousers. On his hand, he wears gray fingerless gloves and has a band going across the back of each hand, adorned with a star. Black Star's footwear are basic black boots with white tips, with a star shape visible on the toe of each boot.On his right shoulder is his star-shaped tattoo, showing his heritage as a member of the "Star" Clan which is just a shade lighter than his normal skin tone.
As of recently, Black Star now wears blue pants with the hemline rolled a few inches above his ankles, with white shoes and a white belt that is similar to an obi. His feet are wrapped in bandages up to his ankles and his hands and arms are also wrapped in bandages up to the elbow. As per his previous attire, Black Star wears a sleeveless top. In this case, it is a custom, white, muscle shirt. Another new addition is a long white scarf, wrapped around his neck with the majority hanged loosely. He also has a fairly noticeable scar running across his tattoo on his right deltoids, numerous smaller scars scattered across his arms, and a faint scar-line running down his right eye—all of which were caused by Mifune during their last match. The spikes in his hair are a lot messier and not as star-shaped. Black Star has also grown in height, almost equaling his partner, Tsubaki.
Personality: Black Star starts off as rather arrogant, loud immature and narcissistic. Although he fights as an assassin, he prefers to forget the Way of Assassination by shouting and making his presence known, the reason being that he is a massive attention-seeker. He cannot stand having someone else get more attention than himself, and will proceed to beat down anyone more popular than him so he can be popular again. His loudness is often shown in his tendency to often shout when he speaks and his trademark cries of 'Yahoo!'
Despite his rather large ego, there are more positive sides to his personality. Although it is hard to tell through his arrogance, he does genuinely care for his friends. He always arrives to his friends' aid if they are in danger, seeing himself as a protector of the people whom he classes as weaker than himself. It is shown in team battles, that he views the safety of his friends as a priority. However, he will also take his friends' wishes into account, and will step back and allow them to fight alone if they want to. He also has a determination that knows no bounds. He constantly trains to become stronger, and is dedicated on his goals, putting all of his effort in everything he does (this has its downsides, especially when Black Star develops tunnel-vision on pursuing something that is wrong, being too stubborn to see the wrongness of his aims). He prefers to go his own way, which sometimes involves going against orders. However, despite his determination, he always fails at tests of intellect regardless of the effort he spends in studying. He never forgives the people who hurts his friends, setting off immediately to get revenge in order to defend or restore respect to his friends.
Mifune and Kid are prominent figures in Black Star's life, and they help him mature profoundly. When Black Star is frustrated and indecisive in his pursuit of power, they both help him decide his choice in life. During and after the infiltration of Arachnophobia's castle, Black Star changes dramatically. He retains most of his positive traits, remaining honorable and sincere both in and out of battle, and still cares for his friends, but most of his negative traits, like his arrogance and his temper, are no longer present. He no longer declares that he is going to surpass God, and he actually starts to admit his faults, saying that some people can do things that even he cannot do. He also develops more respect for his superiors, treating people more like equals. He is more cool-headed and focused in battle. He no longer pursues power in order to stand out and surpass God, but to protect his friends and help maintain order in the world. He decides not to take the 'Path of the Demon' but the 'Path of the Warrior' and he seeks to become a 'Warrior God'. He also develops a great sense of responsibility, as he decides to redeem the names of the ones fallen by Masamune's blade, and to grant Masamune's wish to master the way of the warrior, even if it means causing suffering to some people.

Black Star was born on the small island of Shibusen, located far off the coast of the main continent. Having gone un-noticed for a large portion of history, it had only been recently introduced to chakra, and would still make use of the shadow arts.
The shinobi and samurai that shared the island had been immersed in endless war for countless centuries; A clear winner never arising. The powerful samurai would make use of various stances and maneuvers, while the ferocious shinobi fought from the shadows, making use of the ways of the assassin.
Hope for peace amongst the people dwindled and hatred moving in its place.
Around the time of the Third Great Shinobi World War, a vicious group of assassins made themselves known throughout the island. They were known as people who would do anything for money; They would victimize and kill off innocent people, earning them an infamous reputation across the land. They had an insatiable blood lust, and worked as mercenaries for both factions of the island-the samurai as well as the shinobi; They were known as the Star clan.
Eventually as years went on, the demons grew too powerful and out of control, developing an insatiable hunger for power as well committing incessant murders. They began to strive for power and victory; They began to follow what was known as the path of the Demon.
As the Star Clan began to pose a greater threat to the people of the island, the samurai and shinobi of Shibusen came to compromise. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”- Their common enemy, the Star Clan. The two opposing factions of the island had decided to come together in an attempt to purge their land from such great evil. In a mass killing, the dominant forces of the island mercilessly hunted down and killed each member of the relentless clan. It was genocide.
Black Star was found some hours after the massacre by a shinobi scouting the area for any possible unwanted survivors. Despite being surrounded by corpses and his garments soaked in the spilled blood, Black Star lye peacefully asleep. The man took note of a star shaped tattoo on the child’s right shoulder, realizing that this child was in-fact a surviving Star Clan member. Unable to bring himself to kill a child, the man decided to take the child with him, who was almost two years old, and raise it as his own. The shinobi, Sid Barrett, ignored his mission, and made it his responsibility to steer the child away from walking the wrong path as he grew older.
With the Star Clan supposedly eliminated, and successful collaboration between the opposing factions, prospering peace was brought to the island; Ironic that it would take the ascension of a group of malicious killers to end the feuding between samurai and shinobi so abruptly under the belief that the Star Clan posed a “true” threat to their established nation. Odd.
Early on, Black Star had developed an interest and passion for fighting. Taking note of his apparent interest, Sid began relentlessly training him, tutoring him in the ways of assassination, helping him to gain incredible reflexes, speed and strength. Sid would train alongside him, helping the boy to build muscle and endurance, growing increasingly proud as Black Star grew more experienced.
At the age of seven, Black Star was enrolled into the local Ninja Academy. In school, he was taught alongside other students about how to utilize chakra to make one’s own movements unseen and unheard like those of the assassin. Although he excelled in the physical part of learning, Black Star never really had a talent for the “educational” process, and failed nearly all of his written examinations.

Although Black Star had already grown to be a great warrior at a young age, he was unable to make friends. Despite showing obvious skill and talent in his abilities, he was still ostracized by many blaming him for everything that the Star Clan had done in the past; Others would clearly notice his Star tattoo and recognize him as a member of the Star Clan. This was only complimented by his large ego, which he developed as he furthered in his training. Even still, Black Star would bear no malice over the loss of his clan, because he understands that his parents led a wretched life and eventually paid the price for it.
After successfully graduating the academy at the age of twelve, Black Star had begun to grow more curious of life outside of the island. He developed a deep yearning to leave and further his training on his own, eventually growing possessed by the thought of surpassing god. As time went on, he decided to act on this decision, and left Shibusen to travel to the main continent.
Over the course of the next few months, Black Star would travel abroad throughout the lands, moving from place to place, and engaging in the occasional fight with a complete stranger-in which case, he always ended up the winner. Though his skills were impressive, Black Star himself could never be satisfied at his current level; On a whim he decided to head to the land of iron, feeling that the harsh weather conditions would only serve to aid in his training.
While in the Land of Iron, Black Star engaged in long and intense periods of isolations within the mountains, in which he would spend training his body to be more resilient; However with an incredible appetite like his, the surplus of food he carried with him would fail to last very long. One day on his way back into town from isolation, Black Star had succumb to Hypothermia-he was exposed for far too long, with a low reservoir of energy remaining; He was going to die. Falling face first in the snow, Black Star closed his eyes and lost consciousness.
When he woke up, he found himself lying down staring into the eyes of an attractive young female. The woman had revealed to Black Star about how she was visiting her mother’s tomb, found in the frozen wasteland in the vicinity of where Black Star had collapsed. Once she found him, she made sure to bring him back as soon as possible, using her expertise as a medical shinobi to nurse him back to health. After giving her his most sincere thanks, the young woman introduced herself as Tsubaki Nakatsukasa.
Black Star was welcomed to stay within the Nakatsukasa home by both Tsubaki and her father during his stay, an offer that he graciously accepted. While staying at the Nakatsukasa home, Black Star continued his intense physical training, something that caught the eye of Tsubaki’s father. One day he decided to join Black Star, bringing along with him two Bokuto for them to practice with. He would go on to teach Black Star the art of the sword, and the proper way to utilize and respect the blade, as a well renowned master of sword play himself. He grew proud of Black Star, watching him become more experienced with a blade in his hands; He had come to think of Black Star as one of his own.
On one particular evening Black Star had come to notice the picture of a young adult man framed within the home, and questioned Tsubaki as to who was in the picture. She claimed it was her brother, but that he was no longer around-her usually happy attitude now overshadowed by a more depressed and upset one. When he asked further questions, she asked that he leave it be for now, and in due time she would reveal to him the story behind her brothers absence. Respecting her wishes, Black Star dropped the topic.
Eventually his time in the land came to a close, and he decided to take his leave having learned everything he wished in the land. As a parting gift, Tsubaki’s father presented him with a katana that his master once presented to him. It was a simple piece, but it was greatly appreciated, and to this day he still uses it. Before departing however, Tsubaki wished to accompany him, and asked to join him; Having never left the land before, this would also be a big step for Tsubaki in her own personal journey. Whether he wanted her along or not, it was a good idea to have a medical ninja around twenty four hours all around. And with that, the duo set off-their next destination, the Land of Fire.
Black Star now fifteen years old is aligned with Konohagakure no Sato. Although Black Star initially comes off as loud and wildly boisterous, he managed to make several friends in the village, ties he had never had before –He thinks of Tsubaki more as a sister figure. He and his best friend, known as Soul Eater, would often go and goof off, shirking their responsibilities to have fun. Although Soul wasn’t very loud and ambitious like Black Star, they still shared like personalities. Soul would often refer to himself as being a “really cool guy.” Another one of his friends was Death the Kid. Kid earned his surname after the fact that he had been a natural born prodigy, and was often referred to as the son of Lord Shinigami.

When they first met Kid and Black Star were unable to see eye to eye, constantly getting into physical arguments-which Kid would always, win. Despite being a prodigy, and nearly perfect in every way, Kid had one major flaw to him; He had a severe case of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) which manifested as an obsession over symmetry, otherwise known as asymmetriphobia. Utilizing this one weakness, Black Star would exact his revenge by playing childish pranks on him that would “set him off” on a rant about how everything must be symmetrical. Because of the incessant pranks and arguments that they got into, Black Star and Kid developed a friendly rivalry in a constant race to surpass the other. Having a rival would be good for Black Stars progress, if only he wasn’t always overshadowed by Kid’s impressive abilities.
Despite being new to the ways of Ninjutsu, he was still allowed to run missions for the village due to his profoundly established Kenjutsu and Taijustu prowess. His most recent mission was to eliminate the gangster Al Capone along with the rest of his gang.
When he and Tsubaki arrived at the destination, they found only the bloodied bodies of Al Capone and his men lying around; They were killed off by someone else before Black Star even arrived. The man responsible for the slaughter revealed himself as a samurai named Mifune. He was tall with long blonde hair, and wore a light colored dress shirt and dark dress pants. He also carried with him a case of numerous swords.
“My name is Mifune, I am the guardian of the girl Angela.”
“My name is Black Star, and I am going to surpass the Gods.”

The man had assumed that Black Star and Tsubaki were after a little girl that he has sworn to protect, Angela. He warned Black Star to get away; Ignoring the warnings however, Black Star merely boasted about his own greatness. Black Star said that if he were Mifune, he too would be afraid of a man “as big as himself” too. And with that the battle began. Being unwilling to harm a child, Black Star managed to catch Mifune off guard, landing a blow that ended in Mifune’s defeat.
Black Star decided to spare him however, as Angela appeared, begging him not to harm Mifune further. He could not bring himself to take the life of another in front of a child's eyes, and so without a second thought, he returned back to Konoha, unaware that this was not the last he would see of Mifune.
Out on another one of the ever so occasional missions, Tsubaki and Black Star were told that their next mission was to locate and defeat a man named Masamune, who had been killing off innocent people throughout the Land of Fire; His motives were unknown. When they arrived in the town in which he was last spotted, they were met with hostility due to Black Star’s heritage from the Star Clan; Stories of their deeds head reached as far as the main continent.
Soon later Masamune reveals himself as he overshadows the body of a nearby young boy, using him to fight Black Star and Tsubaki. The duo were fighting at a disadvantage, reluctant to hurt the innocent boy that Masamune was using as a puppet-until Black Star managed to successfully break him free of the control of Masamune.
Now face to face with the mass murderer, Black Star drew his blade, only to be interrupted by Tsubaki who wished to fight him alone. She briefly revealed the fact that this man was in fact her older brother, the one from the picture back in her home-his appearance had changed over the years he had been gone, now looking more sinister than his former innocent look. The two began to fight as astral projections along Masamune’s mental plane; He lured her here, having the tactical advantage and control over the surroundings.
At first, her efforts alone were not enough to defeat her brother, for he was too powerful and consumed by hatred of his younger sister. He believed her to have inherited all of the family’s passed down techniques, whereas he had not despite being older. With Tsubaki’s attacks doing little to nothing, he grew upset with his sister:
“Why are you holding back?... Pity? DO YOU PITY ME?”
After all these years, Tsubaki still cannot bring herself to defeat her brother, who now walks along the path of the demon, and nearly pays the ultimate price for her weakness. Her soul and mind are nearly irrevocably shattered within Masamue’s mental plane, until words from Black Star manage to reach Tsubaki. The few spoken words of Black Star help to woke Tsubaki up, as she came in for one final attack-the one that put an end to her brother’s life once and for all.
Happy to see his partner finally come to, Tsubaki and Black Star leave the town and return home for some well-deserved rest, unaware of the brewing storm clouds on the horizon.
Upon arriving back home, Black Star and Tsubaki are able to enjoy a period of prospering peace, enjoying their free time with friends.
Several weeks later, word came of the ascension of an underground organization known as Arachnophobia. It was an organization hail bent on plunging the world into the utmost madness and insanity. Not too long after their appearance on the scene, Intel arrived that they were searching for an ancient tool that would help them to achieve their major ambition. With this new intel, a large group of teams were sent off in an attempt to stop Arachnophobia from procuring this tool.

Once on the scene, it was an all-out race to which side would get to the tool first. Making their way through the maze of protective traps, Black Star, along with Tsubaki, Soul Eater, Kid, and their partners, were confronted by a man of small stature named Mosquito. Despite his small stature, Mosquito proved quite a legitimate threat for the group. Even having outnumbered him, his strength, knowledge and expertise far surpassed the group of youngsters, and they were eventually overpowered and defeated. Each of the children escaped, but with their share of battle wounds. In particular, Maka had been hurt in this encounter something that brought great anger to Black Star. He had never developed such strong bonds before, and the fact that he continuously proved incapable of defending his friends infuriated him.
Arachnophobia was able to recover the tool and escaped. Through the next few weeks the village kept a close eye on the movements of the group. In the upcoming weeks one of Arachnophobia’s labs had been discovered. It was believed that the ancient tool that they managed to retrieve would be found here. Konoha would send some of its best Jonin to plan an ambush on the lab, however still angry about his recent loss, Black Star decided to follow them to the lab along with Tsubaki, hidden within the shadows.
When he arrived, he was greeted by a familiar face..
Mifune stood before him, blocking his path of entry. Tsubaki questioned why a man such as himself would work for an organization like Arachnophobia, as such was not like a man of justice. He replied by stating that Arachnophobia offered unquestionable protection of the young girl Angela, something that was an invaluable asset in safeguarding the young girl, which is why he decided to work as their bodyguard.Without another word, the fight began. Unlike their first encounter, this one was quick. Black Star was cocky, and Mifune made quick work of him. Even after using everything he had, he still could not defeat Angela's bodyguard. Mifune claimed that his arrogance was his down fall, while Black Star spouted words of how Mifune was the one acting arrogant, talking down to a "God" as such. Just before Mifune could kill Black Star, an ambush laid out by the Jonin gave him the window to escape; The mission was a complete failure thanks to the intervention of Black Star.
Over the following weeks, Black Star’s mind was plagued by self-doubt, as he was unable to overcome his recent losses. He had feared losing and would do anything he could to avoid it. With his loss against Mosquito, his recent total defeat at the hands of Mifune, and his various defeats at the hand of Kid, Black Star’s confidence began to waver. Was he making any progress? His ambition began to seem like a something far away and un-reachable-unattainable. Entering isolation once more, he began training his body, honing his strength and speed along with the rest of his abilities to their maximum potential.
With much going on through his head at this point, he decided to challenge people all throughout the Land of Fire. Through all of his incessant impish fights, he had turned out the victor each time, but this was not enough; He needed to defeat someone who had previously defeated him; He decided to challenge Kid.
After finally taunting Kid into a fight-something he was reluctant to do-Black Star began to lose control, being unable to properly utilize his chakra because of his incredible loss of self-confidence. His eyes seemed to take on a new appearance, with his pupils taking on the shape of a star.

"He's lost confidence in himself, that's why he was unable to properly utilize his chakra. He's paralyzed by doubt. I've seen it before; it doesn't take much to do that to one, doubting yourself will do it every time. I've known Black Star for a long time, since he was an infant. He has great talent. His soul is strong; he's willing to work hard. Against a single opponent or many, it doesn't matter; he'll beat them all one by one. That's what he does, that's who he is, someone who wins.
But lately he's begun to lose fights one after the other. His battle with the samurai Mifune was the most damaging. It was a total defeat. If you think back, it seems that's when his attitude started to change. He can't handle his recent losses. He wasn't built to lose. It's been a major blow to his self-confidence. I can't blame him. Someone with a weaker soul would have given up a long time ago. But that little idiot doesn't even know the meaning of giving up.
We adults are often stuck in the past, children can only think about the future, but Black Star lives in the present, he can't wait for the future. He has to find his path now.."
"Find my path? It's not about finding, it's about winning! Stop spouting your useless philosophies."
"I see it..Those eyes, this dark feeling...White Star. Is he following his father’s path?"

His facial expression changed to match, conveying a feeling of insatiable bloodlust. He now walked along the same path of his clan- He now walked along The Path of the Demon. A person on this path shows a supreme goal of achieving the strongest level of power possible. Unable to cope, Black Star fell to Kid, and he fell hard.
“Black Star, you’ve always been strong and I acknowledge that. Ever since the first day we met you have been strong, however, recently, you’ve gotten a bit weak.”
With those his final words, Kid walked away, leaving Black Star to grovel in his own overwhelming defeat. As the hours passed by he merely lay there in his own head space. While in his light meditation, Black Star was confronted by a spiritual entity. It took on the form of an odd looking deer with red horns, and a black and white striped body. The entity told him about how his soul and mind were to be irrevocably shattered because after having followed the path of the demon for so long. Being unaware that he had been following the path of the demon for some time, this came as a surprise to Black Star. He was then shown visions of fallen warriors who had been killed off by followers of the path of the demon. Each of them died tragic, meaningless and painful deaths.
The very sight of these helpless victims helped Black Star to awaken from his stupor. Releasing the error of his ways, Black Star woke up and stood up. He saw his mistakes, and where he began to walk along the wrong path. He decided to himself that from now on, he would follow not the Path of The Warrior, nor the Path of the Demon-he would walk a path of his own making; He wished to become a “Warrior God.”
After finding himself, he wished only for one thing-to finally defeat Mifune.
Arachnophobia was moving into the final phases of its operation, having all of the instruments necessary to plunge the world into perpetual madness. With this, the village needed to act, and devised one last all-out attack on the main hideout of their organization. On the night they were to raid the castle, Black Star emerges onto the scene, rejoining with Tsubaki and seemingly revitalized since his last fight with Kid.
With his athletic ability, Black Star easily makes it past the exterior defenses and traps, arriving at the entrance where he is greeted by his eternal rival, Mifune.
“This is the third battle. There will not be another.”

After declaring that this fight was to be the ultimate decisive battle between the two, and hat this time; He is full ready to fight against a child. And with those words, a bloody battle ensued. Both Mifune and Black Star pulled out all the stops, both tapping in to some hidden reserves of strength periodically throughout their fight which served to earn each fighter the upper hand and different points.
The fight was grueling, without a clear winner arising throughout most of their fight, until in the end, Black Star’s overwhelming determination and incredible earnest will allowed him to strike a final blow, fatally striking Mifune.
He began to utter his final words, remarking on the admittedly amazing battle, as well as saying his final goodbyes:
“Magnificent.”
“I’m sorry Angela.”
With those final words, the powerful Samurai died, though he was proud to die at the hands of Black Star, having been able to see him ascend from the depths of being a Demon.
The raid on the castle had been successful, leaving Arachnophobia in-operational. Black Star had promised to look after Angela in Mifune’s stead. For the next few days, Black Star would lie in his Hospital bed, pondering on his life, and how he had finally managed to do some growing up from the reckless arrogant child he once was. Looking out his bedside window, he would remember Mifune, his rival-his friend.

Un-Named Katana: On his person at all times, Black Star carries the sword he received from Tsubaki Nakatsukasa’s father before leaving the Land of Iron. He holds it dear as a sentimental gift, often using it and incorporating its use into his incessant fights. The blade was said to have been made by one of the Land of Iron’s better sword smith’s, Muramasa. The blade takes son the appearance of a katana of average length, and made of an uncanny black colored steel. The hilt of the blade is made up of a seemingly rare black wood, wrapped in a light blue cloth matching the color of Black Star’s hair. The tsuba takes on the shape of a diamond shape with several ornate pattern inscribed on it. The blade as a whole had been said to inspire fear and madness into the eyes of those who lay their eyes upon it. Despite this dark aura, it has been passed down from those who are most well renowned for the Kenjutsu prowess within the Land of Iron for centuries, eventually coming into the possession of Tsubaki’s father. It is said that if the blade is placed within a shallow puddle of water, surrounded by swirling cherry blossom petals the blade would simply slice through them all, cutting them in half without even having touched them.
Kusarigama: Along with his blade, Black Star always carries his signature Kusarigama, a weapon which he has become quite accustomed to using in battle, making use of it by far the most in battles It offers Black Star the most versatile use of moves for attack and defense, it can be used in close-range combat, and also long-range as the scythe blades can be thrown at an opponent as an attack, or as a means to trap them to make them wide open for a close-range attack. .It takes on the appearance of a long metal chain with each end of the chain tipped with a yellow handle that has a small double-edged and double-pointed scythe blade attached. Three dark grooves appear below each blade. There are yellow dots on the handles, making them appear as if they have 'eyes.'
