WTH ?? xD .. We are fighting in Mid-range .. and if jutsu have LONG range it means it can travel Longer if wanted but It can be used in Mid-range without probs .. if you see leaf ninja .. when a jutsu is Suited for Long range they put like this

Short (0+ m ( Mid ( 5-10m ) and long ( 10+m ) meaning that jutsu is usable even at mid-range
