I am so disappointed with my Dad -.-

So, Smashing Pumpkins was apparently looking for a keyboardist and a bass player to tour with them.

So they held open auditions across the internet, looking for a keyboardist who plays "in the style of Rick Wakeman" (the keyboardist from the band "Yes").

My Dad has, for the past 30 years, idolized Rick Wakeman as one of his favorite keyboardists, and has spent a lot of time trying to play like him. So when my Dad saw this open audition thing online, he decided "Hey, maybe it'll be fun to send in a submission video over YouTube". And he did just that.

Then, he got an email from Billy Corgan (essentially the leader of the Smashing Pumpkins at this point) saying that he wanted my Dad to come to California to meet him and the rest of Smashing Pumpkins... Basically a meet-and-greet to make sure that my Dad wasn't some insane person before going on tour.

But, my Dad said no! O_O! He lives on the East Coast, and didn't want to leave work for 6 months to PURSUE HIS DREAM. O_O

Reasonable... but still, it's his DREAM, and it's SMASHING PUMPKINS O_O!

And I could've gotten free tickets to some shows xd

Just thought I'd share this. ><

Tough economy. Money is more important than dreams at the moment.

But damn, doesn't that suck. :|

xd that just shows u how committed he is to his job. U_U lol i just cant believe he couldnt ask his boss to give him that time off just for this very rare opportunity.
