In real life (if looks dont count) i would have the byakugan over sharingan. It is so much more useful (tests, sence of surrounding, can see through things.....catch my drift) LOL.

But if I had to stick with the looks then NO. Definately sharingan then

well the byakugan doesn't JUST see chakra flow. it see's everything, even things that are not visible but instead actions and/or stadegies.

for example, deidara saw neji and said something similar to, "ah the byakugan, you used the byakugan to catch my blind spot and sneak up on me"

which means byakugan doesn't just see chakra, it see's things inside one's personality. byakugan is BY FAR the most powerful of any technique in terms of sheer insight and verbal or non-verbal communications.

but if byakugan had a improved form like "mangekyou" sharingan. that would be most awesome to witness.

I like the Byakugan personally. I think it's abilities are best seen in a unit as opposed to one one combat, where the Sharingan may prevail. I'd like to see more personally, and the only person who can do it is Neji. He's a genius who seems to develop doujutsu that is secret to members outside of the main house. I hope he plays a prominent role in the Pein invasion and shows a new jutsu.

Tsukiyomi could be avoided since the Hyuuga don't need to look in your eyes. Ameratsu may be deflected by the rotation jutsu, but I doubt it. Sussanoo, your screwed. If Itachi wanted to, he could've taken out Sasuke with it.

The Sharingan was way the Uchiha clan was so powerful and equal to the power of the Senju they were the two most powerful by the Hyuuga is not seed to be as strong so you would have to say its no where near the power of those to probably still strong tho easy top 5. The Uchiha and the Hyuuga would of battled many times and the Uchiha came of the better this was probably because as sum1 has stated the Uchiha are desdents of the Hyuuga so they probably would of known all there secrets and how to counter there ability but the still i think the Uchiha is more powerful and Sasuke,Itachi and Madara would beat Neji only useing there Sharingan not there MS and if Neji were to awaken's sum kind of MS which i think he will because Neji is the most talented Hyuuga that there has ever been and if sum1 awakens a new ability for the Hyuuga it will be Neji i think we will probably see it in a filler when there is another time skip cuming or we just see it in a random battle which might just happen now with pain attacking he night get impressed with Neji's abilities and want his body and taking on a few bodies at once and beating them unlikely but just a theory what i would like to see cum true

Just a slight correction. Itachi needs only his finger for Genjutsu, but he needs his eyes for Tsukuyomi. This was demonstrated in the fight between fake Itachi and Naruto during the rescue Gaara arc.

in part 1 his byakugan could only range 50 m during the fight with kidomaru
then 100m
and in part 2
it could range 1000 m

neji can basivcally see who is coming
and in 1 hr prepare the attack
and possibly his 8 trigrams palm rotaion can cover 1000 m

The history of Byakugan alreaded ended. No more byakugan. If there was, he would have shown it till now, at least some progress. Till now, we didn't see any improvment in Neji. I think Kishi concentrates more on Sakure, Naruto, and Sasuke. Others are not important anymore. This is only a guess.
