He is tall and lanky and well built for his Taijutsu. His hair is long and dark brown, typical for a member of his Clan. Kenichi bares the symbol of the Hyuuga crested on the center back of his gi. His clothes are more traditional that most. Kenichi wears a red gi fashioned with black leather straps and a long black shirt underneath.A black strap keeps the gi secured around his waist. He wears a pair of loose black and shoes. His headband is fashioned at his forehead.

There are years of deep seated anger scarred into Kenichi’s being. He has learned to just let things go. Once an energetic and loving boy, Kenichi has turned cold and distant. The constant internal conflicts of his clan aren’t the only source of his depth of cut off emotions. Ever since he was a boy, Kenichi knew something was off. He was treated differently than his older brother and his suspicions were confirmed after his mother bore a daughter. There was something wrong with him, wasn’t there? Something he couldn’t see in the mirror. His face was the same as theirs, his heart was bare and his mind a clean slate. But instead of molding it into the strong and independent Shinobi that they had made his brother and sister, Kenichi’s parents left him the dark with eyes he could only describe as foreign. They did not look at him with love and understanding and their patience with him was always ice thin.

He saw past the benign neglect and distant eyes and chose only to see the worth that his family had to him. He loved his parents regardless and to this day, though he will deny its power over him, he still does. His siblings are his heart. There is a light that flickers deep within him and it screams for the recognition of his family. It was something he never felt he had. Kenichi thought he had some demon sitting on his shoulder that only others could see, like an omen screaming to them: stay away. His kind heart shattered over time and became the Kenichi that people know today.
There has always been no doubt of Kenichi’s loyalty to his family and his village. Despite being treated as a nonexistent black sheep, he felt only right to give to those that had given him nothing but tough skin. His involvement in his clan’s political affairs are essentially none of his business. Being from the side branch, and only a Genin for that matter, has made Kenichi silent on most opinions of the Clan. Hidden within his loyalty of the Hyuuga clan though is a want to reshape it into something kinder and more familial much like the old Kenichi that hides deep within himself. Despite his want to change his clan he would do anything for his family, die if need be, so is the way of the Shinobi.

Kenichi grew up not knowing that he was even fostered to the side branch. He was told that he was the legitimate son of side branch clansmen Hyuuga Kaori and Mizuru. The only clansmen who were aware of where Kenichi was sent was the Clan head, as well as his adoptive parents Kaori and Mizuru. Ayame was left in the dark about how close he was to home and he was raised under the pretense of a side branch clan member. Kenichi was raised under a false name as well as a false birthday to hide the suspicions surrounding his adoption. His adopted parents agreed to also change his name to Kenichi when his mother Ayame had originally planned to name him Yukichi. They played close to his originally name but far enough to not arouse suspicion from others.
Kenichi was given little to nothing as a child to Kaori and Mizuru. His was more often ignored and kept emotionally distant from the rest of the family. As a young boy he was excited and happy but the more that his adoptive family kept him apart from their family the more he felt out of place and unhappy. He turned cold and distanced himself in addition to the already present lack of connection to his adoptive parents. Kenichi has one older brother named Kaizer who from the beginning treated Kenichi with the most respect he had ever been given. His older brother was kind to him in times when his parents were unforgiving. However, over time even Kaizer was slowly brainwashed over the mistreatment and soon joined in to exclude Kenichi from the family.
Even from a young age Kenichi felt something was different. His physique did not match that of the rest of his family and their treatment towards him only made matters worse. Kaizer was treated well by his parents and this made Kenichi jealous and starving for the love and attention that he saw and lacked. Kenichi would often act out and continued to do so until he noticed that it did nothing but cause more trouble. It was then that he changed into the Kenichi that exists now. The small loving boy hid away waiting to find himself again. Kenichi mostly kept to himself and accepted his position in the family. The main branch of the family, specifically Hyuuga Koichi, seemed to hold nothing but ill will towards the boy and his existence.
When Kenichi was seven, Kaori became pregnant with another child, a daughter who they named Kimiko. Even before Kimiko was born, Kenichi would see the love for her in his parent’s eyes. His suspicions were confirmed after Kimiko was born and he saw again the love that his parents had for Kaizer also shown in their eyes as they looked at their daughter. However, none of this shown for him. What had he done? Why did they treat him so poorly? This is something that Kenichi still has not figured out but can easily be traced to his relation to the main branch.
At the age of eight Kenichi entered the Academy. The academy was a solace that helped the boy reclaim his love for himself. His school served as a medium to get away from the chaos of politics with the Hyuuga clan and away from the constant reminder that his parents loved Kaizer and Kimiko more than him. Kenichi spent a lot of his free time running, something that developed to quite literally run away from his troubles. He mostly kept to himself. His grades were decent and his grasp of jutsu was above average. Kenichi seemed to show an exceptional grasp of chakra control and an innate understanding of the human body. Both of which would later prove useful in comprehending his clan’s Hijutsu.
At the age of ten, Kenichi was training with another Academy student. They were bending the rules with a dangerous dare to fight with real, steel weapons. Kenichi was accidentally stabbed in the shoulder with a tanto that sliced through his shoulder and down to his mid chest. The damage caused by this landed him in the hospital for several weeks. For some reason Kenichi was unable to fight off a powerful infection that spread through the cut. It took a lot of medical attention and during this entire time his parents only questioned him for his disobedience. Kenichi’s life was threatened by the infection and they saw nothing but his childish inhabitations. He was able to recover after some time but his progress in the Academy was halted for a year. Kenichi managed to later pass the Academy at the age of thirteen where he was then placed on Squad Ten.
While under the instruction of Squad Ten, Kenichi found himself better able to define who he was and who he wanted to be. He wanted to keep the ideals of his Clan close to heart but his loyalty would always remain to his village. Kenichi proved himself to be a very fast learner and a very brilliant mind now that he was outside of the roots of his former life. At the age of thirteen Kenichi decided to tear himself away from his negative life at home and worked with the money he had gotten from his missions to find his own place. While he was young, Kenichi had always done small odds and ends for work and had secretly been saving to pay for his own clothes and necessities rather than going without. The money had added up and was enough to help him with a shared rent apartment. He could do this only if he reported to his parents about his mission progress and state of living.
His missions in Squad Ten were mundane and Kenichi began to question his worth once again. The slow progress he was making made him question his actual strength as a Shinobi. There were several instances where the boy found that he was lacking in many areas that he should already excel in like Taijutsu and some of his Ninjutsu. Kenichi didn’t not particularly get along with the other members of his squad. When he confronted his Jōnin Squad leader about the situation he was told to manage for as long as he could to see if the issues would smooth out over time. Unfortunately, Kenichi continued to have issues with a certain member and ended up requesting for a squad change. Nearing the age of Fifteen, Kenichi was removed from his former squad and placed on Squad Five. Kenichi has remained on Squad Ten for nearly two years undergoing missions with his comrades. It was during the second year as a Genin that the truth of Kenichi’s birth was made public from the drunken mouth of his adoptive father. This cause a major political drift between the Main and Side branch of the Hyuuga that luckily died down faster than most had expected. Kenichi was placed with his birth parents but retained his name. Discussion of his conception has mostly died down over the past year.
