*Arrives*

Alright first things first, we don't do that lame dog spinning shit around here. We do real manly spins in the Hyuga gang. So lets start with the basics, tell me what you know about the byakugan and gentle fist, what functions do they have, are they weak against anything? How are they best used and against which abilities do they perform the best?

Oh so it's not the same type of rotation!

So Byakugan is the white eyes dojutsu that has a 360 degree vision which allows the user to see long distances, chakra networks, and even hidden targets behind obstacles. It's ability to see chakra allows user's to hit chakra points which is what gentle fist is based on. By hitting those the capabilities of others can be inhibited, either chakra output wise or ability wise, such as in the cases of EIG users for instance. It's also effective on sage mode users since it can be used to lower their chakra pools and whatnot. As for attacks from the rotation stuff and blasts, their elemental strength depends on wether they have shape manipulation or not. If they have shape manipulation they are neutral to elements while if not they are weak to them.

Yeah that pretty much covers the basics, you seem to understand the simple stuff so lets get going on the techniques.

(Dōjutsu: Byakugan) Eye Technique: The All Seeing White Eye
Type:
Supplementary
Rank: C
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 15 (+5 per turn to keep active)
Damage: N/A
Description: The kekkei genkai intrinsic to both the Hyūga and Ōtsutsuki clans—descendants of Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Those who possess this dōjutsu have it manifested as eyes with featureless white irides and no visible pupils. And when activated, the pupils become more distinct and the veins near their temples bulge. To activate the dōjutsu, Hyuga but not Ōtsutsuki clan members are initially obliged to use a rather long and specific sequence of handseals: Horse → Tiger → Boar → Hare → Rat → Dog → Horse → Dog → Hare → Rat → Boar → Snake. But once activated, the dōjutsu user is endowed with a range of skills.

To start, an activated Byakugan gives the user a near 360º diameter field of vision bar one blind spot at the back of the neck, above the first thoracic vertebra. Its vision can penetrate through any solid objects or obstructions, and likewise remains unaffected by blinding interferences. But that being said, certain barriers and the like may distort its perception. In addition, it is able to follow high-speed movements, which enables those with this dōjutsu to analyze their foes' actions and better react to them. The Byakugan is also able to see chakra to a higher degree than the Sharingan and ergo, identify where a person's chakra signature originates from. Beyond that, it can discern certain types of clones from the real person. And its ability to see chakra is in fact so acute that those who possess this dōjutsu are even able to see the chakra pathway system and the 361 tenketsu that comprise it. The Hyūga clan has gone so far as to develop their unique Gentle Fist style in order to capitalize on this particular ability.

Note: Hyuga clan bios of at least Sannin rank become able to passively activate their dōjutsu upon one month having passed since Gentle Fist training concluded. Ōtsutsuki bios never need to expend a move in order to activate it.
Note: While traversing the NW, bios with activated Byakugan are able to see up to two 2 adjacent landmarks away while those of sage rank can see as far as three away, but this doesn't extend beyond an ocean landmark.

Dojutsu first, break it down for me, what sort of strengths and weaknesses does this have in your mind? Can you see any problems that might inhibit this dojutsu and how does it compare to the other eye techniques to you?

Alrighty, after a bunch of hand seals the Byakugan can be activated, granting a 360 degree scope of vision that goes through most physical constructs. This comes with the ability to see chakra and perceive faster movement. It can also be used to identify clones which is a nice little plus. The apparent of weakness of the 1 degree of limited vision is pointless in the RP, because techniques in general won't be that small and would almost always be visible, with the exception of techniques specifically crafted for combating the Hyuga. Other than that the hand seals are a bit too much, but eventually it would become a non-factor. Compared to other Dojutsu, it's the most solid one at it's base level imo, as access to Gentle Fist is nice as well as the increased tracking and sensory capabilities.

I agree it has a solid base, definitely tailored to people who want to use more taijutsu and physical abilities vs spiritual ones. Okay with the basics out of the way we can start on the gentle fist techniques. Same requirement as usual from you.

(Jūken: Tenketsushin) - Gentle Fist: Tenketsu Needle
Type:
Offensive
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: Targeting a single chakra point, the user delivers a two-fingered strike at the opponent, in an attempt to plug the chakra that's being used and halt its flow.

(Jūken: Hyūga Ryuu Taijutsu) - Gentle Fist: Hyūga Style Taijutsu
Type:
Offensive
Rank: D
Range: Short
Chakra: 10
Damage: 20
Description: A mini barrage of gentle fist strikes that equal 16 in total. Rather than targeting chakra points, the strikes can hit multiple inner organs to cause more widespread damage overall.

(Jūken: Hakkeshou Kaiten) - Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Palm Revolving Heaven
Type:
Defensive/Offensive
Rank: D-S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 10-40
Damage: 20-80
Description: A maneuver that obliges advanced chakra control—achieved via training in the Gentle Fist style—to release varied amounts of chakra from all of the user's 361 tenketsu, simultaneously. And in the midst of doing so, the user proceeds to rapidly spin and thereby, form a rotating shield of chakra with their own person at the epicenter. This functions as a defense to compensate for the Byakugan's blind spot as the released chakra blocks everything in a true 360° range and is able to send those struck by it careening back.

Note: D to C-rank is short-range while each rank thereafter will increase the diameter by 5 meters.

Tenkutsu Needle allows for stopping the chakra flow via simple finger strikes. Should it be targeted at a specific point it could be useful, such as a NW hand shake and hitting some fingers to prevent hand seals.

Hyuga Style Tai is young Neji's bread and butter in the old games, where he swiftly strikes at 16 chakra points causing some damage. The fact that this targets inner organs makes it count as critical attacks I believe, so with that and the Gentle fighting speciality this could be a nice technique to catch people off guard should they chose to tank it.

Trigrams Palm is the classic assist I liked to use on Storm games, as it was the best "get away from you Shishui spammer" technique I used! It functions by releasing chakra from all chakra points, serving as a surge to break genjutsu, then rapidly spinning to create a rotating dome of chakra that would serve to protect the user whilst being neutral to elements. It's size also increases with every few ranks.

Only counts as a critical hit if it's by surprise as far as I know, though you could argue that the opponent wouldn't expect to take internal organ damage if they hadn't encountered gentle fist before, not an argument I'd want to hinge a fight on or anything though that's for sure. Other than that yeah, not much to say about these.

(Jūken: Hakke Sanjūni Shō) - Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Sixteen Palms
Type:
Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: 30
Description: A maneuver that in effect is akin to a halved variant of the Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms and accordingly, halts the flow of chakra that circulates in sixteen tenketsu of the foe's chakra pathway system. If the selected tenketsu are localized to a single limb, then the recipient of this move is rendered unable to use the targeted limb for ninjutsu for one turn, which includes those with applied passives. If the strikes are not all localized to a single limb, then the foe will instead be unable to use chakra surges of S-rank and higher for one turn. Beyond those effects, the usage of this maneuver will reduce the victim's chakra supply and any accumulated senjutsu chakra by 5% per use.

(Jūken: Hakke Kakuu Raishuu) – Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Aerial Attack
Type:
Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: 30
Description: The user runs toward an enemy at full speed before jumping and hitting one of the foe’s vital organs. Alternatively, the user may jump from a high distance, then descend into the palm attack After being hit, the target will incur a decrease to their base speed.

Note: Base speed is reduced by 1 level per use and the effect lasts for up to five turns.

(Jūken: Byakugan Sandageki) - Gentle Fist: Byakugan Three Strikes
Type:
Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: 30
Description: The user grabs the opponent's extended arm, flips them around, then strikes them thrice on the back with enough force to send them flying.

I was thinking about the direct hits to organs and stuff cause I remember something about that in the rules somewhere.

8 16, highly effective considering it’s rank, as it can be used to prevent usage of a limb if targeted or if used in a general fashion it restricts chakra surges of S rank and above. The second portion of reducing chakra supply by 5% is pretty nice considering that it can stack with itself. It’s application to all tai attacks via the specialty can be pretty nice in tai based combat.

8 Aerial Attack is a simple maneuver that can be used either through running or from a falling high position to strike a vital organ, resulting in a deduction of base speed per strike.

Byakugan 3 strike is highly situational as it requires an extended arm from the target. If that is present the user can flip the target then strike their back and send them flying.

Three strikes can be very useful because it's usable as a move to counter taijutsu punches, thanks to it requiring an extended arm so it's worth keeping in mind, you can use that to counter a taijutsu attack then follow up yourself with another gentle fist attack after the back strike.

Also yes your analysis on the others is correct, they're basic but useful.

(Jūken: Hakke Sanjūni Shō) - Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Thirty-Two Palms
Type:
Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: A maneuver that in effect is akin to a halved variant of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms but is able to be performed at 1.5x the user's current speed and accordingly, halts the flow of chakra that circulates in thirty-two tenketsu of the foe's chakra pathway system. The recipient of this move will be rendered unable to use more than 50 chakra in individual attacks, which includes those with applied passives, for three turns. Beyond that effect, the usage of this maneuver will reduce the victim's chakra supply and any accumulated senjutsu chakra by 10% for two turns.

(Jūken: Shukūken) - Gentle Fist: Palm Bottom
Type:
Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: This attack consists of a quick, precise thrust of the user's palm to an opponent's body. Like other Gentle Fist techniques, it sends chakra into the target to cause internal damage that paralyzes them for one turn.

(Jūken: Chou) - Gentle Fist: Block
Type:
Defensive
Rank: B
Range: Short
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A (+10 if the opponent makes direct contact)
Description: The user exerts chakra from several tenketsu from a single part of their body, this chakra is gathered roughly ten centimeters away from the user's skin and forms a small shield of chakra, no bigger than twice the size of an average palm conveniently useable as a way to block tai/kenjutsu attacks(upto B-Rank) but is weak to elemental techniques as it's merely raw chakra which does not require advanced chakra manipulation. If the opponent makes physical contact with the shield they will suffer slight damage across the part of their skin which connected with it. The shield itself is no bigger than twice the size of an average palm and can block Tai/Kenjutsu attacks up to B-Rank as well as Elemental attacks up to C-Rank within reason.

Note: Useable five times per event

LMAO man i just realised i have genjutsu on this bio instead of tai. Number one Hyuga!

Long name tech, pretty nice as it's a momentary speed boost for a highly efficient attack. It prevents more than 50 chakra per attack, which tbf is nice for countering big Yin/Yang stuff and wahtnot, but in all honestly I'd be heated if this was used on my Nara while i try and stack more stuff on it. Cool that it also reduces chakra supply and SM pools.

Palm Bottom, a pam strike to the body that causes paralysis and damage to internal organs nb.

Block, A pretty simple technique that acts as a defensive mechanism to minor attacks elementally, and tai attacks of it's rank's strength. Also causes some damage to opponents if contact is made with the limb coated. It's aight I guess, though no one really donates the good techniques!

Indeed most donations are things people want to get rid of lmao, speaking of donations though, here come some more. Palm bottom is one of my favourites to use for a quick hit that can stun and ease in to a big followup.

(Jūho: Tamashii Baindingu Saakuru) - Gentle Step: Soul Binding Circle
Type:
Offensive
Rank: B
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40
Description: The user channels chakra into one of their feet. Once they do, they will quickly stomp the ground and in the same motion, release a wave of chakra that quickly travels above ground surface. More specifically, the chakra manifests as a white omnidirectional ring that, upon contact with an enemy's body, the chakra will briefly paralyze their feet. It is similar to Palm Heel Strike, insofar as it causes one's muscles to be slightly damaged. This can also be applied through a kick, should it connect with the target, and forces the user's chakra into a specific bodily area with even more potent effects. The attack, itself, lacks tangible properties and ergo, phases through physical techniques (e.g., Earth and Water) without being hindered.

Note: Each application is useable only twice per battle.
Note: Paralysis lasts one or two turns—first and second applications, respectively.
Note: Courtesy of Nakiri.

(Jūken: Hakkeshou Kuuten) - Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Palm Grating Heaven
Type:
Offensive/Defensive
Rank: B-S
Range: Short-Long
Chakra: 20-40
Damage: 40-80
Description: A variant of Eight Trigrams Palm Revolving Heaven whereby the user follows the same process but also shapes the outputted chakra into razor sharp blades. Ergo, those struck by it are not repelled by concussive force but are instead subjected to being reduced to small shreds by coming into contact with what is akin to a giant revolving grater.

Note: B-rank is short-range while each rank thereafter increase the range by one level.

Jūkenpō/Fūton: Tekken no Shippuu) – Gentle Fist Style/Wind Release: Gale Fist
Type:
Supplementary
Rank: B
Range: Self
Chakra: 20
Damage: N/A (+10 to Gentle Fist)
Description: One of the most basic weaknesses of Gentle Fist is it's raw nature, unable to withstand elemental chakra of the same level unless it possesses a greater density or an advanced shape-.. this technique has been developed to overcome said weakness. Just before executing a Gentle Fist technique and in the same timeframe a Hyuuga converts the raw chakra to wind chakra a split second before exerting it. Due to the nature given to the chakra it gains a slight cutting ability aswell as a slight gusting force behind it but due to the conversion of the nature of the chakra into wind chakra it loses it's ability to deal internal damage and solely damages the target externally, making this technique most suited towards ranged Gentle Fist techniques that do not rely on internal damage in the first place. This technique however can only be utilized in combination with gentle fist techniques that do not require advanced shape manipulation nor the ones that possess an increased density such as the rotation techniques.

Note: Requires mastery of Gentle Fist.
Note: No Gentle Fist above A-Rank in the next turn.
Note: Usable four times per battle with a one turn cooldown inbetween uses.
Note: Courtesy of Tybone

The rare instances where you dont want free customs lmao

Binding Circle is kind of weird in all honesty. A stomp that sends chakra through the ground but also a wave of chakra above ground at the same moment. The chakra above ground is a ring that would paralyze just the feet of the opponent. Not sure what the underground burst is for then unless it somehow tracks what the ring hits. Anyways the second application is an easy one thats just a kick that causes paralysis for an extra turn than the base version.

Grating Heaven is pretty straightforward being similar to the earlier variation. This one’s rotations are shaped like razors instead following the same restrictions to range and whatnot.

Gale Fist is a wind elemental infusion into GF attacks that make them lose their internal damaging qualities, so better used with techniques that don’t have that function.

I find it best to just look at that one as a stomp that prevents them running momentarily, cause the wording is a bit off that's for sure. The other two yeah they're pretty simple and you seem to understand them just fine, it's worth noting in regards to causing like bleeding damage and stuff grating heaven is the superior option for rotations.

(Shugohakke Rokujūyon Shō) - Protecting Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms
Type:
Offensive/Defensive
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 15
Damage: 30
Description: A potent Gentle Fist maneuver that capitalizes on the user's Byakugan to envision an Eight Trigrams circle, which sets the stage for the foe within this circle to be hit by a huge series of precise strikes aimed at sixty-four tenketsu that comprise a portion of their chakra pathway system. Each successful strike halts the flow of chakra that ordinarily passes through the given tenketsu and makes chakra control a much harder endeavor. The recipient of this move will be rendered unable to user more than 35 chakra in individual attacks, which includes those with applied passives, for two turns. Beyond that effect, the usage of this maneuver will reduce the victim's chakra supply and any accumulated senjutsu chakra by 25% for four turns.

(Juken: Hakkeshō Hachimon Hougeki) - Gentle Fist: Eight Triagrams Eight Gates Assault
Type:
Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: A specialized derivative of Eight Trigrams that targets the tenketsu specific to the Eight Inner Gates (EIG) mode. The user strikes the gates one by one with their gentle fist taijutsu to completely halt the flow of chakra that would otherwise pass through. This effectively enables the user to prevent the tenketsu from being opened or even close any tenketsu that are opened. In addition, closing an individual tenketsu will prevent the target from not only being able to access the corresponding gate but any higher gate as well. Conversely, targeting a higher gate will not curtail one's access to lower gates.

(Jūken: Ichigekimi) - Gentle Fist: One blow Body
Type:
Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: A technique born from the Hyuga clan's intrinsic ability to expel chakra from every tenketsu on their body, a clan member can hit their opponent with a blast of chakra that will send them flying away from the user. It was also shown that this technique can be used with pin-point accuracy to target the weak point of a technique exemplified when Neji Hyūga was trapped by Kisame Hoshigaki's Water Prison Technique, and was able to dispel it.

Noted!

Sixty Four Palms, first off, excuse me with that chakra/damage output lmao. But anyways, it is pretty effective if it manages to land. It is a sequence of precise strikes on chakra points that will result in supremely messing with the opponents chakra control. It prevents anything that contains more than 35 chakra to be used whilst also decreasing chakra supply by 25% for 4 turns, so highly annoying if it lands.

Eight Gates Assault is something Neji only wishes he could pull off on the golden boy Lee. It targets the tenketsu of EIG, closing them off and preventing access of the equivalent gate. It's pretty nifty that if you close their tenketsu for the first gate they pretty much lose access to the ability entirely.

One Blow Body is essentially a chakra burst of raw chakra that can be also used in a pinpoint manner.

Correct on all counts, though do note one blow body is considered weak to elements from a recent tournament ruling, so be careful if you try to block with it. Now we can move on to the next few.

(Hakuro Tenbu) – Heavens Dance of Hazy White
Type:
Offensive
Rank: A
Range: Short
Chakra: 30
Damage: 60
Description: The user begins by coating one of their hands with dense chakra and so much so that the chosen hand turns white in color. They then proceed to take several swipes at the opponent and conclude their assault by clapping their hands. The resulting clap has the formally dense chakra expand outwards with concussive force that follows a conical blast radius. Prior to this clap, the several swipes are on par with elemental techniques of the same rank.

(Hakke Kūshō) Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm
Type:
Offensive
Rank: A/S
Range: Short-Mid/Short-Long
Chakra: 30-40
Damage: 60-80
Description: The user precisely pinpoints the enemy's vital points with the Byakugan and releases a high-speed palm thrust. A "vacuum shell" compressed using the Gentle Fist style is formed to attack the opponent's organs and soft tissue from a distance, blowing them off their feet with tremendous force before they even notice they were hit. In order to attain more power and range (S-rank) then a variation of this, Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm Wall, necessitates that both hands are used. In this case, a more potent wave of compressed chakra is released with great force from both palms, simultaneously. And the result from this can be increased damage to not only the foe's targeted organs and soft tissue but also their hard tissue (e.g., bones). Of course, this variation has sufficient force to send a foe careening as far as five meters.

Hazy White is a nice combination technique wherein the user coats their hands and attacks as they wish before concluding with a clap to release the chakra from before in a blast form.

Vacuum Palm is simple enough, a ranged attack that targets internal organs with the potential of even damaging external ones if strong enough.

General question, would the Gentle Fighting specialty apply to Hyuga techniques themselves since they are a form of taijutsu?

Gentle fighting should apply to jyuken yeah, but you can ask Chris if you want to be absolutely sure, I'm saying yes though. Also yeah, you're correct, Vacuum palm is one of my favourite hyuga techniques personally. On to the final three techniques!

(Juken: Hakke Hyaku Nijūhachi Shō) - Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams One Hundred Twenty-Eight Palms
Type:
Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description: A doubled version of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms technique, but also performed at twice the speed of the latter. This is used to close off the flow of chakra through one hundred twenty-eight chakra points of an opponent's Chakra Pathway System. This eliminates their ability to use B-rank and above levels of chakra for two turns while also making it difficult for them to move. Alternatively, it can be used to quickly hit multiple targets.

(Jūken: Hakke Hazan Hogeki) – Gentle Fist: Eight Trigrams Crumbling Mountain Palm
Type:
Offensive
Rank: S
Range: Short
Chakra: 40
Damage: 80
Description: The user begins with cupped hands that are drawn to their side while a large quantity of chakra is being rapidly concentrated into a single point in their palms. They then thrust their palms forward to strike the enemy while discharging the chakra, which increases in both power and size as it continues. Upon striking the foe, the chakra appears to burst from their back in the form of a narrow beam that quickly enlarges into a mountain-busting wave. Not only does this inflict tremendous harm unto the foe, it momentarily cripples the victim as they lose access to half of their current chakra supply.

(Jūken: Jūho Sōshiken) - Gentle Fist: Gentle Step Twin Lion Fists
Type:
Offensive/Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra: 20
Damage: 40 (+20 to Taijutsu/+30 to Gentle Fist)
Description: The user exudes chakra from both hands and by utilizing advanced chakra control, mold the chakra into a form highly reminiscent of large guardian lion-shaped shrouds to greatly increase both the range and destructive power of their taijutsu. These lion-shaped shrouds are able drain the chakra network of those they touch and can be used in conjunction with any of the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms variants, increasing the damage by 30 while sacrificing the ability to limit chakra usage. But that being said, it is quite difficult to achieve this move and even a minute error with regards to chakra control will result in failure.

Note: Lasts up to three turns per use and has a three-turn cooldown.

*Laughs in evil plots* Oh wait, getting a tai hit is almost impossible with these opponents. *Cancels plots*

128 palms, hmm. The speed portion might need to be clarified a bit, since the 64 palms version doesn't have a speed boost but the 32 palms one is at 1.5x, if each one is double the last *laugh intensifies*. Anyways, it's a simple enough fast assault on the tenketsu that would leave the targets unable to use B rank or higher for 2 turns which is basically a death sentence.

Mountain palm is the release of a concentrated amount of chakra into the targets body from close range. It would prevent access to half of their chakra supply, though I'm not quite sure how much that is restrictive. Wouldn't they still be able to use the other half normally? Or is it that they lose half their chakra period. If so that'd be quite the annoying attack to be struck with.

Lion Fist, these mismatched chakra/damage stuff need to fixed! But anyways it's a boosting technique mainly through the lion shaped shrouds. It's alright in some instances as the boost is nice, but the loss of the chakra limiting aspect isn't. A wild reaching man would also say that since Jyuken is tai, so it should technically be a +50 boost!!

Honestly with 128 palms I'd say if you landed the first palm you're almost guaranteed to land the full combo because each hit has a knockback type effect same as in the canon, so the speed being "doubled" might sound crazy but realistically those hits landing regardless in a functional situation.

The second one preventing usage of half their chakra supply is kinda weak, I feel like it needs to be a permanent effect to have any use, so get that Hyuga Tenseigan and make it permanent ;)

We don't do wild reaching around here! It's +30 to gentle fist and +20 to non gentle fist tai, still useful but the Tenseigan version is so much better, and it stacks!

Well I think that's it, unless you have other questions we are all done here.
