I don't make threads much as of late, but this is a topic I think is valuable to the forums. It's about characters and their weaknesses and us failing to realize that that everyone has their weaknesses. Every single shinobi in the show has weaknesses, that fact is undeniable. Yes even So6P himself. He may be the god of the Naruto-universe, but he wasn't immortal hence his death. Certain characters have large amounts of hype. Whether it be the kage's, the sannin, seven swordsmen of the mist, or even Madara and Hashirama. But from what I see a lot of in these forums is when someone shows a brand new amazing jutsu, everyone on Narutobase jumps to the conclusion that "this person is now the strongest in the show".

Which brings me to my next point, several characters have shown these feats. The first was Orochimaru and summoning Hashirama and Tobirama and being too much for Hiruzen. During and after this fight, people thought that Orochimaru was someone that could possibly be undefeatable. Until Hiruzen sealed his arms. That theory quickly went straight out the window. Not only that, but shortly after, Orochimaru admitted to Kabuto(and himself) that Itachi was superior to him.

Now whether Orochimaru was talking about before or after his arms were sealed is still debatable.

Next I move on to Itachi himself. He infiltrates the Leaf with Kisame to spy on Danzo. He challenges Kakashi and within seconds puts him in Tsukuyomi, then the hospital. But later meets up with Jiraiya. Even with Kisame at Itachi's side, he retreated. Some people say that he didn't want to capture Naruto or injure/kill Jiraiya unnecessarily, yet that didn't stop him from doing the same to Sasuke and kakashi. So Even a sannin can intimidate Itachi. Whether Itachi could win or not, he was intimidated into retreating.

Next I'll move on to Jiraiya. He's a sannin like Orochimaru, so that goes without saying, he had his own hype. Someone who trained Nagato, Minato and Naruto. Three extremely powerful shinobi thanks to Jiraiya's teachings. So apparently, Jiraiya knows what he's doing, correct? You think, a sannin, intimidates the infamous Itachi, protects Naruto from Akatsuki, yet when he went off to face Nagato, he was killed. Plain and simple.

So we go onto Nagato. The Rinnegan. The eyes with the legendary power. Even the sannin, Jiraiya fell to him. Yet Naruto(with some help) managed to overthrow Nagato in the end. Many speculate whether Naruto defeated him or rather convinced Nagato to sacrifice himself. Whichever the case, apparently, he wasn't unstoppable, correct? Is it logical to say that emotions and tactical mental skills can effect those in combat? Also, with the combined efforts of Naruto, Killer Bee and Itachi, then used Itachi's Totsuka blade to seal him away. Proving again he was beatable.(his being binded under Kabuto makes the situation somewhat unclear, but yet still confirmed).

I could go up and up the ladder with this method. Or even brings Jutsu's instead of characters into the mix. Naruto's Kyuubi powers seemed unbeatable, until the Sharingan came into play. Raikage's enhanced speed seemed unavoidable, until Minato/Naruto proved otherwise. As amazing as something may look at first glance, in the words of Itachi, "every technique has a weakness".

In conclusion to everything I've said, even those with incredible amounts of hype can be taken down. Hashirama and Madara are no different. They both apparently have a lot of hype lately in the manga. Hashirama becoming the new "god of shinobi" which was the title of Hiruzen back in the day. And Madara has been resurrected into a seemingly unstoppable being. And now has allied himself with Obito and summoned the 10 tails, something said to even fight on par with So6P himself. Now the main point I want to make. Some with high amounts of hype have been forgotten because their lack of appearance lately and/or the new "shiny" jutsu's from some characters lately. Orochimaru is the perfect example. People forgot about him long ago and some believed he was fodder compared to some like Madara, Naruto and Obito. But his recent reappearance in the manga has definitely proven otherwise. So I'd like to close this thread with a list of shinobi I believe to have been either forgotten and/or believed to be fodderized as of late for the wrong reasons. And have their own reasons to be able to compete with current situations in the manga right now. Maybe not win, but at least compete and/or give a difficult time.
