I've never seen how the 1999 version ends. I hope Madhouse is the studio to pick up HxH again in the future because I love it's animation/art style.

The 1999 version basically ends with the last episode from Greed Island arc. Gon and Killua said goodbye to Biscuit and used Accompany card to try to find Ging.

The old version was produced by the same company and director who was working on Rurouni Kenshin before and I really liked it. It was awesome animation imo, but compared to this version, well... It's kind of obvious that this one is much better.
