We'll see how long it lasts. Id be surprised if we get more than 3 months of consistent chapters, know togashi and whats happened the last few times hes come back. At the rate hes going he'll be dead before he completes HxH.
Maybe jump reminded him that the 20th anniversary was near and they needed some material for the volume for it or to pull people back to launch a new movie or game. :|
Any bets regarding how many chapter before next hiatus? There is going to be a new monster game in the market pretty soon...
I keep telling myself I won't be pick this new arc till it's over( that may take a decade from now, if at all). Although I probably would end up checking them out... >_>

There's a good two years till that and he's already a chapter away from a new volume. I would say there would be around 10 chapters till he goes on hiatus again and I'm being slightly optimistic here. Perhaps that's why Togashi packs a ton of content in each chapter with the latest arc. His mother spoken out recently during an interview and she said he already has several chapters completed. The site is dead but whatever... he did do some signings recently and even a drawing of Gon last month:

You might as well check it out. There's no harm in doing so. Hiatuses are inevitable since he works by himself but you can always check out other series during those hiatuses.
Actually the run of 20th year started already since the series started in March 98( 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001....2016 ). So yea the volume that would be up even if it's just one more chapter, would be in the 20 year only. Although this time art was ok so that was a plus and I guess this volume would do better than the last one.
Anyway what has reading other series to do with putting up with an unfinished one either? It's not like anyone is putting their life on hiatus and doesn't know what to do it it doesn't come out. Thank you very much. It's about indefinite hiatus not knowing anything at all. His 70 something mother is getting interviewed because he won't even drop a line himself when he has been gone for such a long time.
What? Lol, no, the 20th anniversary of the manga is March 2018. You see how Cardcaptor Sakura is celebrating it's 20th anniversary in 2016 for a manga published in 96'? I honestly don't know how you got this year as the 20th anniversary.
What's with the attitude? I never intended on implying that your life revolves around anime/manga. I was just offering other options.

Yeah, and I'm telling you that it isn't starting soon. It's still 2 years away. That Cardcaptor Sakura example should be of your concern if you can't figure out HxH's 20th anniversary correctly. No, CS is celebrating 20 years since publication (1996 of May is when the first chapter debuted). So if a series that's 2 years older than HxH is celebrating it's 20th anniversary this year, when will HxH celebrate it then? 2 years later from this year!
That math is wrong. You shouldn't be counting 1998 as a year. HxH is a year old once it was March 3rd, 1999. What, you're telling by your math that HxH is considered a year old on the date of December 31st, 1998? 20th anniversary starts on March 3rd, 2018. Just add 20 years to HxH's publication date/year. Done.
To go back to your first post, I don't remember if they did anything for HxH's 10th anniversary. Other than just having HxH on the WSJ issue for that week. WSJ is fed up with Togashi as iirc the HxH chapters that came out in 2014 never ranked well. With that in mind, I don't think WSJ would have anything that huge planned for HxH. It's rumored that the next volume, will be released during the month of June.

No, someone born in March 1998, will have his/her 18th birthday in March 2016.
