This year has been a weird year for me. I'm 16 years old, and like this whole year i've been going through a complete mind set change. About humanity, history, war and those type of things.

Thanks to my history class, we've been learning about so many wars. And my teacher is an amazing teacher, it's one of the classes i look forward to the most. Because its so interesting to learn about history.

One thing that has completely changed me is the thought that history repeats itself. I've seen so many examples of this that i can safely conclude it.

People will never achieve peace, i'm telling you its insane when you study this. These wars start exactly the same way every single time. When it's a civil war it starts with an uprising > revolution > civil war. Just look at Syria, 80,000 people dead and counting.

I'm from Iraq, and in my country has been war torn for almost 30 years. And it doesn't look like its stopping. It's sad to see my people, children and mothers crying over there dead son who died. This leads me into thinking that there is no hope for humanity. and there isn't. i can argue countless examples in history, which will repeat itself no matter what.

Humans love conflict, its in our blood. Blood is thicker then water. These ideas have changed me alot. A year ago i was a ignorant kid who thought the war in my country had to have someone at fault.

My mind contradicts itself alot, but one thing is for certain. Wars will always happen, so thats why i've given up hope for this world. And if Iraq gets into another civil war, i'll join my kurdish ppl and i'll fight till i die an insignificant death. because thats exactly what will happen, we'll all die an insignificant death.

edit: this is not my thinking on a whim, i've been thinking like this for the past 6 months and it hasn't changed. And i'm not depressed or anything, these are just my thoughts.

Peace can be achieved.

It would require a world order that is also a police state, and it must be socialist (or better yet communist).

If you read "the giver" you would understand what I mean.

Anyone who becomes different, like the protagonist would need to be removed immediately.

Wow. That's sad, I understand where you're coming from. Although I agree with most of your points, I just can't give up on us.

There's nothing childish about a world order, it's clearly possible, and is the only solution.

That's bs, it will start many revolutions.

There would have to be a world power strong enough to eliminate anyone who might revolt via genocide.

It would be like what happened in Cambodia, children would need to be indoctrinated.

Btw i'm not indorsing this, im just saying it's the only realistic solution to war.

You also realize that communist-socialist states have attempted this and all failed because the people did not accept them. That's the exact reason it would have to be a communist-socialist regime: The regime itself is so oppressive that it shatters any hope the people have for retaliation or free thought.

Corruption is a human problem. Free thought leads to greed, greed leads to war.

Well I want to start off by saying that I'm very sympathetic to your situation being from Iraq, in light of all the war that's gone on there the past decade plus. Now I'm from the USA, but I hope we can both agree neither of us started this war (I was like 6 when it started) and we can discuss this subject on even ground.

I completely understand what you mean when you say history repeats itself - and it does - if we do not LEARN FROM IT. That's why we need people of this generation like you and me to study history, apply its lessons, and change the world for the better. Because we absolutely can do that, and expecting any less of ourselves once we have this knowledge is both selfish and close-minded.

However, I have to completely disagree with you on the premise that "wars will always happen". Flying was SUPPOSED to be impossible, going to the moon was SUPPOSED to be impossible. Need I really go on about all the incredible miracles we as humans have achieved? And we will continue to achieve these as long as the desire is there. That's why I really don't like to hear you or anyone else saying they've "given up hope for the world". No matter where you come from, regardless of your past or circumstances, saying that is not only a deflection of your responsibility as a human but is also detrimental to all of our progress as a race.

So please don't take such a limited, pessimistic mindset. It solves nothing and believe me man we can change it! =D

Peace is an illusion while stability exsists.
People screaming that U.S is a tyrant but i am 100% sure that most people didn't take observation and experience to go to a conclusion.
U.S was right to invade Iraq,Afghanistan, Vietnam and Korea but they are being criticized as a tyrant because we never finish our job.
During 1970s, many people screamed to end Vietnam War because of the Draft but U.S retreated and left free people of Vietnam to tyranny of Communism. One of my friend from Vietnam said that many people wished that U.S should have won the war, many foreigners views Vietnam today is a prosperous nation but the few years later this nation has fallen into debts nearly bankrupt due to the corruption and mismanagement of wealth. Brain drain is the common thing.

We criticized our government never finished our job in Iraq and Afghanistan, i wish Iraq won't be the same like Vietnam

Sure, you're right about a lot of things. But why would you choose to die an insignificant death? Leaving your mark on the world, a legacy, it's what mostly everyone wants. And there's nothing wrong in having hope. You have hope for a reason, because you want things to be better. If you stop wanting things to become better, you yourself are also becoming a part of the problem.

This world is broken, we don't need this world to be supremely perfect because we already had a perfect world.
Guess what! Heaven!!!

Those achievements are from individual nations. Here's the thing, you may have hope for humans progressing, but what about the rest of the world? Most people don't care for world peace, nationalism runs so high in people.

Pride in your country causes you to fight for it, that's what war is. That's why it will never stop. People will always fight for the country they are from, throwing there lives for it. And I'd be lying if i said i'm not one of them.

So how are you suppose to make peace? when country leaders fight, the people fight, when a tyrant steps in, people fight the tyrant.

Wars are not something anyone can stop by just wishing for humanity. So i disagree with you on that.
