How Would You Rate Kishi's Creativity??

I'm going to name my first born son Jiraiya. Thats my favorite Naruto character, and I like the name, the spelling, everything..

My girlfriend asked me what is the meaning, at first I didn't know then I googled it. "Young Thunder"

Then I saw that basically Jiraiya The Gallant is an old Japanese folktale about a ninja who can transform into a toad...and he marries a ninja Tsunade that can transform into a snail...and their enemy is Orochimaru who can tranform into a serpant...

Then obviously by this point I was thinking wow, Kishi stole damn near everything from Japanese folklore

Well this manga was probably originally supposed to be destined to a much smaller japenese public that most likely knew all that. Besides all that, even with Pain, Tsukoyomi, Amateresu and Susano'o which is also stollen (And I believe is explained in subtitles to us throughout the manga) that he didn't really steal it. The original public was supposed to know all that.
While us non japenese folk might not know all that and must feel some back stabbing action, I think we need to give him credit that it wasn't the original effect.

Now Kishi is creative, just not with names I guess.

Lol this is pretty much a well known fact. Naruto isn't just some tale about a ninja. This isn't just a coincedence that those three are named that way. Almost everything is related to mythology and history and if your thinking it's just a story about ninja's killing other ninjas your just ignorant. Try searching the three sacred Japanes treasures or the meaning behind the Sharingan tomoe or even the nine tailed fox. Kishi's creativity deserves a 10/10 for honouring past legends in a modern way.

It's cool how he took ideas from Folklore and religion and reinvented them in a way to create entertainment for us.

Kishi I would say in a very creative person

I think he gave his characters the Names of Japanese folklore because he wanted his characters to have meaning and connection to each other outside of the manga as well. The fact that he never references his characters to anything real justifies that.

But however I the biggest thing he stole was the design of Sausano the god of storms. Susano is a giant Tengu with only the wings missing.

I agree with Scary it is cool he is using Folklore and everything. Also Kishi is giving the world a little Jap. culture which makes the Naruto series a 10/10 for me

all in all, i do like the way he used aspect from the jap culture and such to more or less name every one and how most iconic places in naruto are based on real life locations.
